Had a few associates graduate the pipeline and shortly after, they had bodies like Greek gods. I asked a buddy if it was Group's fitness program and he said he lifts a lot of heavy shit. Later on between a beer I said I hit a plateau. That's when he shared his secret of injectables. He said the job demanded you to be basically superhuman. Unfortunately for him he didn't realize your joints and ligaments can't keep up with the muscle growth. Without getting burned by the UCMJ, he was forced to medically retire. He was the team sausage and after seeing a pic of his team, it was obvious they all drank the kool-aid.

Having a family, I was against it for myself. Knowing my luck, I'd be made an example of and my family's financial and physical welfare would be in jeopardy. Now that I'm a loner, the pros to hit that next level seem to outweigh the cons. However I have to get there first. I'm smart enough to listen to my body "sometimes" and read the room. Guess I'm still on the fence "for myself" until I hopefully make it to a team and prove I able to throw in. My situation forced me to move everything to the right. I'm looking at spring for SFAS so, where do I find out what the official PFT will consist of?

Yuuuuppp, GB here. Went through natty, passed dive school right after the Q. My first day meeting my team, my team sgt. said, you won't be on this team if you can't carry our biggest guy for a click. Our biggest dude was a former tackle from Ole Miss, 6'7" 275. A straight monster. I accepted and the 2nd day on my team, I was told my mission was to find gear and I had 3 weeks to do so. This is fairly common in Regular Army as well, at least back in 2011. I served in a scout platoon and this was a lot of guys bread and butter and was encouraged. I personally didn’t use it, but I knew a lot of guys that did. To anyone saying “they should be ashamed!” - you do what you gotta do to excel at your job and be the best 🤷🏽‍♂️.

I was an 0311 in the late 80s early 90s. A guy in my platoon had been a powerlifter in high school, and our base was only 90 minutes from his hometown. He had a direct line for juice and he got me on D ball. I did 4 cycles of it, and lifting with him made me huge compared to my prior wiry frame. I stopped because I wigged out for no reason on another Marine. Now I'm 53 and on TRT. This is WAY better. Appreciate your honesty bro. I have a friend (and fellow K9 handler) who is former 2nd Ranger Batt guy and he said the big things for his unit (Afghanistan Pat Tillman timeframe) were HGH and Mexican over the counter Test.

Huge respect for being honest with your experience. A PSA for all future candidates which you touched on, Steroids can be detrimental towards your train up for selection. Yes you need to be strong and have a solid foundation. However your cardio; running, rucking, moving object from point A to point B, is paramount. Steroids are counter-intuitive here. A lot of people at selection, especially the 18xrays will be running something and are normally pretty open about it, I don't think it affects them as bad because they are fresh out of OSUT and have been running and rucking non-stop. Dudes from the conventional side, especially you younger joes, I would implore you to get your running and rucking where you want it before running any kind of cycle.

I was there. There was a bust in KAF, and the dumbasses thought it would be cute to use my buddie's name to receive the shit. We all had 10 tons of bullshit we had to go through as the cherry ass officer in the function thought he had license to question our integrity about it. When the asshat came in to pick up his package, by buddy told him it was in the back and to go back and get it, but why did he use his name about it. Doofus goes into the back, right into the loving arms of CID, who were waiting in the back... after that, our relationship with that officer changed. He couldn't get shit from us at that point as we froze him out. There are some things in life that that Green Beret can't help you with. THIS was one that will leave you all on your own to face the man. No one knows you when you are led off in cuffs. They (the command) will cut your head off and field strip you like a piece of big game. THEN, they go after the rest of your team/ unit as they continue to throw that bone at the people who will talk, and keep hunting even more people that are involved. Sometimes those cuts cut deeper then is acceptable to the group involved. I'd seen this happen about three times in different deployments, and heard of more over there in the conventional units guys that were attached. It was more prevalent then people wanted to be honest about, and you could see the toll it took when guys got back, and the negative impacts came home to roost with all of the results of roids and dope and shit. That stuff will burn out a team, or unit. It's impact is negative for all involved. In our position though- the culture of the job pushes guys to do shit like that. Working out 3-5 times a day, GNC, Protein, weight burner, weight gainer shakes, pills, work out magic dust, roids, injectables, all sorts of fucking weight lifters bullshit, it's part of the demand that the culture of being G.I. Joe demands of some folks. Down range, there's nothing else to do but hit the weights and get yourself fit and building up, both to keep your head together, and because the job demands you be in 110% tough bastards.

We had almost an entire Squadron sent home on short leave for a day after being back for a while. This was in 2004. The drug testing unit was coming up for a planned surprise base visit for a random testing. I was randomly tested a lot during my career and was almost always hot because of cold and flu or codeine. Given a ‘warning’ pending clarification of the drugs in the system. Depending on your XO you’d either go back to work, on administrative duty or sent home until the results came back no matter what substance you where positive for. I can only imagine seeing some of the guys 2008-2013 that it was prevalent as they were always trying to bring back supplements on military aircraft they purchased while deployed.

@bornepatrol
@bornepatrol 8 ай бұрын
@@yacobcastro I don’t think it should have been happening then. If it’s causing an issue it should have been addressed. My biggest concern is when they turn a blind eye to PED or stimulant use for SOF units have they then come to expect a higher than is reasonably expected standard from candidates during selection and throughout the career. But rather than address the issue the rank turned a blind eye to PED use. This squadron was known for PED use. There was another smaller unit I was posted too that was multi service and 3 people, each one from a different branch were done for PEDs. They were on paid leave for over a year. Then medically treated/rehabbed and allowed to continue serving. Party/Rec drugs were a completely different ball game. It was a bit of a joke in some units, if you wanted out your punishment was rehab at government expense and continue to serve, the punishment was you had to stay in uniform. Those who wanted to serve would be discharged. We had one rigger test positive for rec drugs and all the riggers had to get together and find every parachute with his rigger number on it and spend a whole week unpacking and repacking them. The CO said even the pope wouldn’t be able to save him.

Why wouldn’t you want to use gear in the military? You are graded heavily on physical standards for promotions. The aggression that you can draw from is a huge benefit for the battle field. If you have a few level headed dudes that can direct the once that can’t handle it, it all works out. The recovery time from hard physical activities is drastically reduced. The calories from your food are synthesized better due to the gear. Besides, you think china or Russia wouldn’t use gear on their troops for the edge? This isn’t competitive sports. You can’t drug test the other team in war and get them kicked out.

Sorry - I want Americas war fighters the best they can be. You don't have to do steroids like Testosterone and get crazy huge.

He's talking about pro hormones. I don't like the world of pro hormones because a lot of people who are new to that world are unaware of the protocols that should be followed just as they should with steroids or SARM's. Hey if it's made by in company and is put in a jar with a label it must be safe right? Don't assume they are more safe than injectables, that just depends. I'm not saying this guy didn't know what he was doing. My concern is for everyone else out there. Although there is a right way to construct a cycle you are in fact screwing yourself in the long run if you continue cycle upon cycle even with the protocols are recovery and time off in place. Your body will only want to recover so may times despite proper recovery meds. No way around it.

THIS IS IN REFERENCE TO THE STEROID VIDEO YOU MADE A WHILE AGO,WITH ALL DUE RESPECT SIR,A WARRIOR SHOULD BE OF SOUND MIND AND BODY. USING POISINS LIKE THAT IS HORRIBLY DETRIMENTAL TO YOUR HEALTH. ITS DISSAPOINTING TO HEAR THAT MEN OF YOUR CALIBER TAKE PART IN THIS. THE EGOS NEED TO BE CONTROLLED.

People need to understand it’s all a bit of gods grace and a bit of luck for anyone to get this far in their respective careers poor sob dies in basic training running while a conventional service guy makes it through multiple deployments then you got your variety colored berets off in the bad lands handing the nations business it’s all gods grace and luck in the end it’s up to the individual on whether he or she wants to gamble his or hers thought process on this or believe your going to be able to handle the nations business clean and sober just keep in mind nobody’s perfect nobody if you wanna be in a conventional unit or colored beret there’s ugliness in all walks of service it’s a mental game while at the same time walking through the lions den your bound to get cut and bruised question is are you strong enough I kill the lion or is it going to kill you

In fact SOF should just legalize steroids altogether. There’s no competition element unlike sports so really what is the problem. Any way unlike normal athletes SOF operators are on the go all the time. They need steroids just to recover from the pace.

@@GreenBeretChronicles So did you take alot to go on loading phases?, a little to supplement ? How long in your career did you dabble with it? When i was in the Corps the Steroid situation was definitely still a thing even though im a much younger generation than you but not as much as you said with the SF/SOF community. Would you say alot of guys still do it? Curious because i definitely want to go back in through the army and maybe do some kind of SF/SOF

I liked you til now. Over twenty years 5th sfg retired and all time on a team. Never never did any of that stuff. It's in your mind and how you train and train yourself. I was never a fast runner, but i could run forever. For my extra edge i did variois martial arts and was constantly shooting. Keeping a long story short you do not need illegal enhancements. You cheated yourself and your teammates... You want to be pretty go to modeling school.. you want to be effective do your job properly.

I somewhat agree. First I'd like to preface this with, I am not nor have I ever been a combat MOS/AFSC/Rate. With that being said I have always held myself in high esteem as far as physical fitness. I have always been a believer that everything physical can be overcome with the mental(mind). I hold this value so close that I do not even take protein or pre-workout because if my body can't do it naturally I need to work for it. I'm just curious as to how he cheated his teammates, I understand 100% how he cheated himself.

I'll be real man -- not saying you didn't achieve something awesome, but nobody cares that you didn't do PEDs. It's not the moral high ground you think it is. The guys in the units now who ARE doing PEDs are performing on a level with an intensity and consistency that you wouldn't be able to match as a natty.
