Wrestling Bios Presents - Steve Austin Before the WWE
What can be said about the popularity and superstardom that Steve Austin achievied in the WWE that hasn't been said before? Stone Cold Steve Austin became a household name during the rise of the Attitude Era, becoming the biggest draw in the history of professional wrestling. Steve Austin's career in the WWE was really special, a once in a lifetime superstar that generated new viewers towards the world of wrestling.
Steve Austin had a solid career in WCW, working as Stunning Steve Austin, before making his way to New York, but it wasn't without bumps in the road. After training under Gentleman Chris Adams and working in the USWA, Steve made his WCW debut in 1991 and nearly instantly captured the WCW Television Championship. From here, Steve would work alongside Paul Heyman, team up with Ravishing Rick Rude, become one half of the Hollywood Blondes tag team with Brian Pillman, and have an exciting feud with Ricky Steamboat (just to name a few).
This video takes a look at Steve Austin before he became a massive success in the WWE. Topics include:
01:51 - Steve Austin gets trained by Gentleman Chris Adams
04:09 - How Steve Austin got his name
06:01 - Stunning Steve Austin becomes a heel in the USWA
07:52 - Stunning Steve Austin's WCW Debut
09:24 - Steve Austin becomes a Paul Heyman Guy in WCW
11:58 - Brian Pillman and Steve Austin tag up as The Hollywood Blondes
13:38 - Steve Austin vs Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat
15:54 - Steve Austin is released by Eric Bischoff
16:43 - Steve Austin in ECW
- Much More!

tbh thats really how WCW was for its lifetime, literally threw away all their talent with extreme potential like Steve Austin, Eddie Gurrero, Chris Jericho, Rey Mysterio etc. just so they could keep the old guys from WWF on the main event. Hulk Hogan was an actual cancer to WCW.

Strange how you said that Steve had to change his name from Williams to Austin due to a name clash with other wrestler, when in his autobiography he stated that the name change was due to his parents not wanting to be embarrassed by him using the family name. I first saw Steve Austin when he was WCW US champion. I really liked his work, but he also got lost in the shuffle when the WWF guys came over. I remember some of his final promo's he cut, and he was digging into Hulk Hogan. I honestly think they would have had a good spod for him in a revised Horsemen with Brial Pillman, Arn Anderson Flair and Col. Parker. As good of a mix that would have been, would never have been as big as his WWF run.

Yo, I just gotta tell you that your vids are always on point, brother. I truly enjoy them. I haven't been into wrestling for about 20 years... But your vids take me on a trip down memory lane EVERY TIME! Keep up the excellent work 👍

@@shannonmurray34 I've lived wrestling for the 34 years I've been on this earth. I'll admit there are some awsome wrestlers out there, Sanmartino, Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair, The Dead Man, Hogan, Rock, Sting, Hitman, Randy Savage. The list is endless but my G.O.A.T is Austin. Not forgetting the new era of AEW. Love Luchasaurus and Darby Alin

Steve Austin promos in ECW was so brilliantly done cause he was pissed off at WCW and he got he frustrations out WCW where the big boys play with each other 😂😂😂 and dressing up as Hogan was classic he would have been a great ECW heavyweight champion
