What I like about the watch scene is how it shows the two different approaches to technology - Woz is interested in the functionality and the technology aspect of the watch, and Jobs is immediately interested in the pragmatic and social aspects of the watch. Neither are particularly wrong about their viewpoints, it's just a nice metaphor for how both men looked at what technology can do for people.

There was definite friction, but this is how true innovation works. Woz has always been focused on what technology was capable of. Jobs was always interested in what humans were capable of when aided by technology. He saw the human as a flawed creation and technology as the bridge to perfection. Woz was the one who could build the bridge. Jobs was the one who could find the correct place to build it.

Which makes for an approachable film theme, but it's a laughable exaggeration for a personal computer engineer of all people to be satisfied with end users taking a device apart and poking it with a pen to accomplish something as simple as incrementing the hours value. The rest of the film is more nuanced, but it's still an oversimplified and exaggerated depiction of various people's contributions.

Exactly. The brilliance of this film is that in all the arguments between Jobs and Wozniak, both are right and both are wrong. You clearly see things from both sides and you understand where both are coming from. It's impossible for the audience to really take a side because both men have points that are perfectly valid.

That Lisa doesn’t remember Woz is the perfect metaphor for how badly he wants to be remembered for the Apple II. Such great writing.

or about how best friends could raise a child and the child not know the name of the best friend. the poor child being raised by other people and the father caring more about his company then the thing that means the most in life because when you are lying on your death bed all the money in the world, all the recognition doesnt mean a gosh darn thing. The only thing that really matters is who is beside you in the moment you need them the most.

Woz wasn’t a good businessman and could’ve ruined Apple - ironically interviews I heard he sounds bitter and resentful towards Steve almost like Rogan captured him. Steve understood simplicity and ultimately how that would change the market - that’s why Steve will always be remembered and Woz will fade away with the geeks

@@Archelaus_vwhat a delusional take. The longer we get away from Jobs legacy the more we see how opportunistic and lucky he was. Woz actually created things. Jobs used it to build a company. This scene was totally inaccurate. Woz made it clear in his autobiography that he wasn’t angry at Apple when he left. He just wanted to move on to the next thing. This scene is total fiction.
@Yodah97
@Yodah97 2 ай бұрын
The entire movie is fiction. The Woz scenes seem to be the most fake in general. They were more of a plot device. On the flipside, just because someone wrote something in their book, that doesn't mean it's true. Autobiographies are particularly sketchy as they're often ghostwritten and strategically planned to help boost people's careers.
@2crude2crudeofficialband3
@2crude2crudeofficialband3 2 ай бұрын
@@Yodah97 That’s true, but Woz is kind of an introvert and not at all concerned about fame or fortune. He’s richer than god already and gives away a lot of his money to schools and museums. He never wanted to be anything but an engineer and an educator. He doesn’t have a massive ego like Steve Jobs, and his career needs no help at all. Seth Rogan is awesome but this is not an accurate portrayal of Woz, and the events in this scene never happened.

A good film to represent a despot. As much as it was remarkable in certain aspects until this one, no film had indicated how despotic it was. Despite falling into romanticizing the character to please everyone. This is the biggest mistake of the film, not showing the 100% truth so as not to be bothered by Jobs' sectarians.
