Steve Smith said that Cooper Kupp was the best WR taken right after the 2017 draft despite being a white guy taken in the 3rd round and got laughed at. Dude knows his ish.

It’s become standard for media types to parrot each other, terms like diminutive, weird frame, undersized, athletic freak, rangy, can make all the throws, etc. And whether it implies something good or not they just barf up words and phrases and that feel smart or insightful but it’s just mimicry and no thought went into it at all

A Vikes fan here and love this pick; however, the "dad bod" guy has a legit point with Addison having a small frame. I hope he can last; small wide outs have a history of injury and concussions. 173 lbs is frail AF for the NFL. That being said, my fav wide out of all time was 168 lb Viking Anthony Carter!

@ReysBoomBoomRoom11
@ReysBoomBoomRoom11 Жыл бұрын
@Raphael. Simple answer, they didn't do him a disservice, nor did they try and blame him for anything. USC staff and players LOVED/LOVE Jordan and said nothing but glowing things about him before he arrived, while he was there, when he balled, when he was hurt, when he returned and ESPECIALLY throughout the draft process. Smith just made that up.. They brought him back slowly because they didnt want to reinjure him and hurt his draft stock, plus they're loaded at WR. I have friends with kids on that team right now, the inside talk of Jordan is that he is ELITE and extremely well respected in Herritage Hall. Smith is a hyper competitive Utah Guy from southern California, but he literally made that up, that SC blamed Addison for anything. The comment makes no sense. Nor, did they limit his route treee. They actually played him more on the outside than the slot for a few reasons but the biggest reason is at Pitt he had less talent around him and they played him ALOT of slot. Again SC is loaded with 4 and 5star kids, the needs were different. But to your point, his ANKLE injury hurt his numbers missed all those games but was on pace to possibly out perform his Pitt stats on a more talented team with more WRs to feed... Another thing to remember is although Jordan is a certified BALLER, he wasn't the best WR in 2021 while at Pitt. Another USC WR, Drake London had the Biletnikoff award sowed up, but was also undone with an ankle injury, only Drake broke his ankle week 8 or 9 and didn't come back. Despite that, he was still drafted as the #1 WR in the 2022 draft.

I like Addison and he’s gunna be fine at WR the only thing is he’s gunna want to be traded when his 5 yr contract is up cause he’s gunna want to be that WR1 and the Viks ain’t gunna sell out on JJ. So that’s the only problem they might have.

MINNESOTA VIKINGS for all their short comings do draft OUTSTANDING WIDE RECEIVERS and jave the pedigree of having some of the best WIDEOUT in league HISTORY. When they drafted RANDY MOSS… everybody was focus on his straigh line speed and height… but DENNY GREEN saw an absolute ROUTE RUNNER with possibly the best hand catch radius and the smartest player can be. He hides those reception until they fall in his finger tips. Anyone remeber PERCY HARVIN half back and supposed slot receiver to bad he flamed out soon but that man had it all…. How about SIDNEY RICE…. If he had a good QB all his career that man was a beast. ADAM THIELEN was among the best for a time of course we now know JJ is a BEAST. So JORDAN ADDisson is primed

i don't think sc did him a disservice, but i do think at sc he was going to be limited by a few things: new team/new qb, offense that likes to spread the ball to different receivers, and the o-line couldn't protect williams enough forcing him to improvise which required wrs to improvise too. sc was a team basically cobbled together, and it was going to be damn near impossible to get addison close to the numbers he had in '21.
