What I admire most about Steve is not only his phenomenal kicking prowess but the fact he won the championship and never returned to the ring. He admitted he was just running out of gas and knew when to hang the gloves up. Much respect to a great career. Cheers.

To be truthful my idea of taekwondo and karate is that it can be impactful but not for point fighting. I can't believe most dojos, dojangs, succumb to a newer friendly organization. If you really want to learn things like this you have to take hits and find out what works and improvise. I'm not paying hundreds even thousands to have an hour mini work out without much contact.

Thats not my thing! love ITF beter.WTF Tae-kwondo have no tulls...Always that helmet and bodypanser with sparring ...And no hand blows to the head .And it is les realistic fighting than the ITF. Becorse the have no fists to the head..The kick dollio chagies /roundhouse kicks left to the body than the other side...switch switch..Left,richt,left,Richt.Than there standing frontal with there body..And always open for dwitchagi,s/Back kicks, yob chagi,s/side Kicks Bandall dolio, s or a plane fist in the face or body...And yess ITF is sami contact. But to win with a NOCK OUT is compleet LEGAL in sparring And fithing on Championships. But the ONLY difrent thing is ...that we cant score a nock-out in the face with the Back hand.!!!! Frond hand is oké to score a Nock Out!!! In fighting stands THAT is...Head or bodykick Nock-outs are LEGAL in ITF sparring & Championships. Only padding gards in a fighting match are teeth gards,a ballsgard. And 13 ouns feethpaďding and 13 ouns hand pads/gloves....Its the original Tae-kwondo form foundet by founder General Choi Hong Hi.The original founder of Tae-kwondo. And ITF Tae-kwondo is a Marshall.art.WTF Tae-kwondo made there own style..Toke off the tulls/style/forms Theory....And made it a SPORT, Only reason is....That the now are oké to compeet in the Olympique Games. That was the hole reason to change it.So i prefer the original I.T.F Tae-kwondo form..And / W.A.K.O Kickboxing style.Think Wonderboy U.F.C style..😉😜 Same story same rules😄😉👊Taekwon👊!!!!...Hihi a hole story !!! And sorry for my bad English..I,m from the Nederlands, so i think there are mutch mistakes lol.But i 💯❤ the fact a Tae-kwondo Champion kicks ass in the Ring with 17,ouns BoxingGloves✌👊

Damn taekwondo was badass back in the day. I do see most taekwondo fighters compete nowadays in kickboxing/MMA matches but they just dont look as badass as they did back then. Plus most of them cross train with boxing/jiu-jitsu/muay thai to step their game so can't blame them there. My thai-boxing coach in my mma gym used to do taekwondo, always talked about having to actually hit each other and that his old coach believed in boxing-taekwondo later on being taught thai-boxing. Taekwondo WAS no joke.

You gotta realize that every moves that are considered to be 'high risk' are only so because the person who tries them suck at them. The better you get at it the less risky it will get for you. This is why TKD does indeed work, you just need to be good at it, which is pretty much true to all martial arts btw, but for some reason TKD gets a lot of shit lately.

@@edwardfessenden9490 you could tell his boxing wasn't his strong suit so a lot of dedication from his tkd background definitely shows. Disciplined.
