I love these Videos, super interesting, but I’ll admit, I’m always wanting hotter water into items that require hot water. I’m sure it must have been boiling at some point, but it probably cooled down by the time his set-up is complete. What I like about these videos is that Steve has such a calming, even tone in his voice... even though I'm sure some of the food is really foul. Also his enthusiasm for excavating even the most spoiled ration component is just infectious. Excellent videos. I really enjoy them!

I think there are more 2018 MCWs on Ebay right now too for like 160 shipped. Keep your eyes peeled. And this applies to anyone else out there too - MCWs should run about $15-20 each shipped if you buy a case. And as for those peelable seals.. they are such a hit or miss!

We got pallets of these in Iraq. Cold weather MRE's in friggin 100 degree Iraq weather. No one had any good way to boil water to make these edible. I remember trying to add lukewarm water in these sitting on a cot in the middle of the desert and having to each crunch freeze dried food. Memories....

Now the center of studies for food and rations of the army is studing a new type of MRE one for the normal army and one for special forces If I have notice I will inform you. When I was in the Army a year ago, that was absolutely true. Sometimes you got little packets of Reese's Pieces or M&Ms, straight from any grocery store or 7-11 you cared to name. They really do TRY to make the MREs okay, but there's only so much you can do. They even do things like throw in Combos or other snacks.
