Being a 16 year old gay "country music" fan, you have really touched my heart with your music. I know that you have stressed how you don't like how things are labeled, whether it be musical genre or sexuality. You are truly a role model in my life. From all of your opinions you share in your interviews, you seem to inspire many. I hope that your fans will continue to support you as you keep making wonderful music for us. It is so humbling to find a country singer who is gay. Normally as a gay male I always change the words to songs as I sing them because they are usually gender specific songs that deal with a boy and a girl. Sooooo nice to finally have a song that I don't have to "change" thank you so much for making music, so so so thankful. The world is changing and becoming more accepting, and you're paving the path to same sex recognition in the music industry! Thank you!

Lyrics*** VERSE 1] Summer wind blows in again Sometimes I wonder where we lost it My good intentions-your favorite weapons And still I've yet to learn my lesson Who-oah [VERSE 2] No, I don't need much of anything Just a shady tree and a couple pulls of whiskey To write my songs of love and life and loss And just a few bout you So if you'll hear me out [CHORUS 1] Stay with me, we don't never have to leave You my southern king, we live it for the daydreams So don't you laugh-Notre Dame he had his chance And he's a good, good man But there's some things he just don't understand So when my old man's out of town but a couple days I think that you should stay Oh, won't you stay Hmmmm [VERSE 3] So come on down, I'll show you how Us midwest boys like to party So grab a beer…And get over here Summer's drawin near Don't waste another year…hey, hey, hey! [CHORUS 2] Stay with me, we don't never have to leave You my southern king, we live it for the daydreams So don't get mad-what's past is in the past And we can make this last if you just give me that chance So when my old man's out of town but a couple days I think that you should... [TAG] Stay with me all summer Stay with me under the covers Stay with me Be my lover [BRIDGE] Walkin through that old gate It’s quite a site to see That handsome face in this desert place Getting away from me That's juxtaposition But right now it’s indecision Do I go back out and chase you down? Or will you be the one that got away? No, no, no [CHORUS 3] Stay with me, we don't never have to leave You my southern king, we live it for the daydreams So don't get mad-what's past is in the past And we can make this last if you just give me that chance So when my old man's out of town but a couple days I think that you should... [TAG x2] Stay with me all summer Stay with me under the covers Stay with me Be my lover

Really? Did you see WE ARE THE NIGHT, his greatest song ever? They were normal and real people like us. Totally loved that he had overweight people with the bellies giggling, dancing right along with him. That shows his heart and brains are where they're supposed to be, rather than in his biceps. There's more to being gay than looking like a Greek god and the ones that do are in the micro minority. Steve looks great, we all agree on that - and jeez that smile makes your guts ache! - but like everyone else he much more than a piece of meat. In fact, I never noticed him till I heard him sing those four words and send goosebumps down to my toes... WE ARE THE NIGHT!!!

God this song is amazing. It reminds me of my boy friend in Tennessee. Our relationship is just like this video. We so shall have this song play at our wedding.
