Another KZbin artist laminated her photographs… then cut around the item in focus i.e. dog, child, flower etc. put the cutout into a mold and applied the first coat of resin. 5-6 hours later she applied the second layer of resin, added colored alcohol ink and white sinking ink to create an artistic background, covered the resin and allowed to cure for 12 - 15 hours (overnight) - produced a beautiful, professional ornament, coaster, up a piece of art to place in a stand up frame etc.

I have always hated the idea of sealing the printed pictures with tape, as it is almost impossible to do it evenly, and now as I saw the unhappy result of that motivational pic you showed I am sure I will totally abandon that idea. I will definitely try the glue sollution. Cannot wait to begin! Thanks for these helpful tips!

Thanks so much. I think I'll try the spray. It's fast and easy. I usually use MP, but every once in awhile I have a booboo. There is a gal on KZbin who uses Aleene's Tacky Glue. I'm going to try her method as well. You might want to watch, Resin Belle, "Fail Proof way to seal paper/photos in resin". Not sure the title, but I know it starts with "Fail Proof". It's interesting and well done, like yours. I love trying new methods. There always are unique ideas...some are great, some are not! Again thanks for you time and teaching. I love it!!

Absolutely love your videos Steve I have seen nearly every single one ur the reason I started trying resin and love it I just lost a baby and resin has kept me busy so thank u so much for these videos u have no idea how much you have helped me cope with my loss I even made a memorial jewelry piece. I bought the uv flashlight u suggested in one of your videos and noticed that it changes the color of my liquid pigments I had use a blue color and it turned an Orangeish red color and have had it happen to a few others and I can’t figure out why when the pigments say they can be used with uv resin any ideas on how I can prevent it I absolutely love the flashlight cause it cures my stuff instantly compared to my lamp that takes forever and is still stick just wish my colors would change or disappear

@@llamasugar5478 Honestly, I fell off the crafting wagon. After seeing this vid, I bought some spray and modge podge and they are both sitting on a shelf. Getting ready to move all my crafting supplies to bins in the garage. Between work and school, I feel like I just don't have time for experiments and trying new things. We do go through seasons in our lives, don’t we? I had a very busy time crafts-wise before my kids came along. Then, my creativity was applied to sewing/repairing clothes, disguising vegetables, and figuring out how to stretch the grocery budget. Fast-forward 20 years . . . My husband is going on a business trip next week. While he’s gone, I want to go through my craft pit (“room” seems much too intentional) and bin up the craft supplies I’m not interested in. I figure if they’re still put away in Dec., I’ll donate them to Women At Risk. Hope you are able to fill your life with uplifting, meaningful activities. Whether that includes crafts, or not. 😉

In one other video I saw an inkjet can be used with great results, the only 'wisdom' is to let the pictures dry for about two days, so they are really thoroughly dry, before sealing them with glue. Force-drying them with a hairdryer or something similar is not recomandable. They also used regular printing paper. Glossy doesn't work. I can't wait to begin putting printed pics into resin!

Dear Steve, thank you for sharing this information with us. The results you got with the varnish and Mod Podge were really impressive and professional looking. I would love to know what type of varnish you used? I've got water based varnish and solvent based varnish, and I thought the solvent based varnish would work better underneath resin, but Mod Podge is water based and that worked brilliantly with the resin. So, could you let me know what brand of varnish you used? Thank you so much for your help. From Amanda Jones in Melbourne, Australia P.S. The varnish I use is made by Pentart, which is a Hungarian company that sells the best craft products I've found. They're sold in the UK as well, and I really recommend that you check them out.
