Nah. Look he's ridiculous and shit, and what he trains in wouldn't hold up against BJJ for instance, but he'd fuck a regular guy up in his prime. He was legit and did master his craft. The thing is the craft he mastered is Aikido, and it's more for disarming someone coming at you with a sword. Using the other person's momentum. But he'd fuck a regular dude up

Rules of fighting Steven Seagal: 1) Don't hit Steven Seagal. If at all possible, telegraph your moves as obvious as you can, so he can easily block it and counterattack you. 2) Wait your turn. If you are with a group of people and one of them is already fighting him, don't attempt to help him. Instead, wait for him to lose and then take your shot. Remember the first rule, tho. 3) Don't use guns. If you have a gun, don't use it unless you miss your shots on purpose. Don't attempt to shoot Steven Seagal from a distance. Instead, wave your gun in his face and spout some asshole lines until he disarms you.

+Xylarxcode 4) If someone has so much bad luck to hit Steven Seagal in the face, he will be sued and imprisoned for life. 5) Not in the face. 6) He is training his ego more than training his body. Because when he do film a movie, he needs to tell the director to tell others not to hit him, or even beat him.
@SovereignStatesman9 жыл бұрын
+Xylarxcode And whatever you do, don't have any fighting ability whatsoever, just fight like an even bigger girl than he is, so that when he fights like a girl he won't look as fucking stupid. Also play along with his choreographed moves, run up to him with your hand out like you're Hillary Clinton running for president, and run PAST him so he can wave his hands and pretend to grab your hand-- then go flipping through the air like Charlie Brown when Lucy pulls the football. If you used even basic fighting skill, you'd kick his ass, and we don't want that. --The Mafia

I still remember when "Above The Law" came out. Segal really brought something very new, and fresh, to the whole MA/action movie genre. He'd have been wise to stop after his first three...maybe four movies. I think "Under Siege" was the last he did that was worth a shit, especially since it had a real budget, a real director, and some really good actors (i.e. Busey, Tommy Lee Jones). The shit he's been cranking out the past 15 years from his own production company is some of the most sad and pathetic shit I've ever seen. Oh, Steve...how far you have fallen...and how wide you've gotten. No, really...most of his movies, he gets lead credit for despite barely being in them...and when he **is** in them, he's mostly sitting down.

Above the Law, Hard to Kill, Marked for Death, Out for Justice, Under Siege and On Deadly Ground. The first six were actually pretty good movies. After that it was all down hill except for the ensemble movie, “Executive Decisions” with Kurt Russel and Halle Berry in 1996.

I'll sum things up for people here! Stevens movies were unrealistic to people because most people don't understand real martial arts,the stuff taught throughout America are watered downed versions changed from what they were originally and most people don't even train martial arts anyway, you know just regular people. The thing to remember the setup in his movies are regular people facing a true martial arts master so what you think is gonna happen? If a regular person faces just a beginning student their gonna get their ass kicked let alone a true master! In real life a fight happens fast so weapons are not gonna help you like you think unless your an expert with them! I'm referring to comments about the bad guys having weapons, ball bat,knife or even a gun won't always save you & especially if you were to face a master like seagal. I'm saying this not as a regular person but I myself am a high level black belt master sensei in Aikido, Judo,jiu-jitsu, Kung fu, jeet kune do,kendo, plus kick boxer, catch submission wrestler, & a primitive weapons fighting expert. I know what I'm saying & I've met sensei seagal we talked, went over techniques, trained,showed each other demonstration's, & he's 💯% Legit, & the real deal folks.

I think when Seagal first came out people thought of the fight scenes 'What the hell is this?' as they hadn't seen anything like it before. Central Fugal energy force is used more in Aikido than any other martial art and so it means that Seagal would smash people into things = inanimate objects like tables and chairs etc., using the attacking momentum (William Forsyth 'Out for Justice' for example - a great fight scene in my opinion). weapons skills combined with aikido moving out of the way body movements and redirecting fast incoming force made for those exciting smash and multiple attack scenes. Grappling on the floor wouldn't do it in movies or indeed on the street if there were more than one attacker, so Seagal's 'new' style of martial weapons and his very smooth method of gun use meant that this guy was exciting for young guys to see. He brought a sense of rough realism to the movies hardly seen before. Perhaps - but not in his defense - Seagal wanted to make the scenes as real as possible and certain techniques done fast and with the attackers momentum coming meant that Seagal could let loose, maybe also he had to prove a point as not many people had seen aikido before and as it was not a competing art, by design and philosophy, he wanted to show off its potential and so for him, a martial artist and not an 'actor' he would get carried away rightly or wrongly resulting in guys getting hurt. His style did in fairness portray a sense of realism that managed to eclipse most other action stars of the time resulting in a new 'wow' factpr for action movie fans.
