As a Durbanite living in Joburg, the goal is to own a beach side property in Durban sometime in the future. I see soo much potential in Durban, the beachfront is a gold mine waiting to explode, I have to be part of it. Like the Western Cape, KZN has the potential to become the worlds holiday destination.

I’m from Spain , living in Ireland now, I’m freestyle motocross rider, I have some property’s in Spain, but I’m thinking also to invest in KZN . Have some riders friends living there, and they living chill. Sometimes here in Europe we listen to many bullshit about dangerous in SA and electric blackouts, but I think all the coast towns of KZN have so many potential and for me it’s cheap, if I compare with my properties in Spain. Let’s I want to go and check with my friends what’s going on, while I checking the real state market and some properties.

@@kankafmx9989The energy crisis is as real as the crime and the riots and looting that took place mainly in KwaZulu-Natal, in 2021! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2021_South_African_unrest?wprov=sfla1 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_African_energy_crisis?wprov=sfla1 If you have a solar panel, you're required to distribute your collected energy into the Eskom (the state-owned and only energy supplier) power grid. You only have energy 24/7, if you have a personal diesel generator. You can be safe from crime. But it usually requires to have your property walled-in, with electric fences or barbed wire, watchdogs and a private security company (SA has the largest private security sector in the world). If you don't live in a gated community! The wealth distribution in SA, is the most unequal in the world, by the GINI coefficient. Which is the major factor for the huge crime rate. You basically have a first-world country within a third-world country. There's no real middle-class. An affluent rich minority and a large very poor majority. Sometimes right next to each other, only separated by a street/highway. Like with Sandton ("Africa's richest square mile") and Alexandra (a poor township) in Johannesburg. All of this doesn't change the fact that South Africa is one of the most beautiful countries in the world! With a megadiverse flora and fauna (look it up on Wikipedia).

Not all of the metropolitan area looks like that 😂. In fact the vast majority does not, and is either of poor build quality or is pooly maintained. There are also the occasional issues such as water suddenly being unavailable for weeks as a result of pipes being washed out somewhere, or periodic blackouts due to the crumbling power grid infrastracture. It is very much a case of little islands of first world wealth situated in a sea of third world life, and all the issues that come along with that. They don't show that in videos like this, but it is a fact of everyday life there.

This is not true! For example: The settling, then town and eventually city/capital of Pretoria was founded in 1855 and was named under the father's founder Andries Pretorius. There was never a city called Tshwane. This was simply the Zuki name of a very small river nearby _(there are no big waters like rivers or sea access in Pretoria/Johannesburg)._ The changed names are usually made up and have not been renamed. Now they're getting renewed. So they have to come up or invent a new name for the city. In some cases there already exists a non-English/Afrikaans name for the city. Which doesn't mean that it was founded by a Bantu tribe! Before the Zulus were stopped at the Vaal river, they had made a long way from the South. But the tribe hasn't made many permanent settlements/towns, but have been on the move. Conquering large lands under various kings. The most famous one was King Shaka . And for the Cape region: The Khoisan people have been/some to this day hunter and gatherers. Without any settlements at all. So all towns and cities at the Cape were founded by the immigrants, which began to settle in the 1600's! At first as outposts of the Dutch East Indian Trading Company. Later also to permanently immigrate. One day, they're going to try to _"africanize"_ the name of Cape Town...

@@yannick245and you have a problem with African people , naming places in Africa?

@@seektruth5750 I'm (South) African too. My family is actually from the Pretoria region. In the province named "Gauteng" today. Another made-up name. While we live in Germany today, I still carry my Afrikaner surname (btw the same as the Springboks head coach). I'm against the forced renaming of cities! It's a ridiculous move to change/erase history.

@@yannick245 you are mad and bitter that black people, the ones who are Africans because remember, only now so we see this resurgence and want and intent from white people be called Africans, originally, black people were punished for it. We will not be told by you what is real and true, we will do so ourselves. You claim all these names are made up in favour of places that were named after “conquers” from the west? Colonial names? “Gauteng” is made up because you don’t like it? You claim there is no such thing as Tswane as if Pretoria was ordained by God, stop it. We have places like the V&A waterfront, Victoria and Alfred, for who? I promise you you’re not going to tell us what is real and true and tell our history for us like has always been done, keep that for yourself. And also, what is this thing of white peoples who love abroad but always feel the need to always tell people that they are SAn, the Miss it etc as if people are wondering about them, stop.
