Steve Winwood is a beautiful soul. And his extraordinary talent allows him to express that beautifully, while the brightness of that soul shines through the music. One of the greats!

I think Jim Capaldi said it best-“pound for pound the greatest musician alive”. I’ve listened to and seen Steve perform in his many ventures since 1968, and his brilliance never fails to shine brightly. Keys, guitar, mandolin, bass, drums and of course his vocals, are always world class. Topped off by being a highly respected song writer, and as Capaldi said…….

How can he write so many different songs that all sound so different from each other and all still sound so fresh and timeless? I guess that’s what it means to be an inspired brilliant musician for the ages. And he’s still killing it.

I listen to this and am flooded with nostalgia. My late teens and early twenties come flooding back. The friends, the laughter, the free spirits, the fun. Bad times? Sure. But the good vastly outweighed the bad. This was the time when real music was created, when the artists were actual artists, when the music was real music, no computers, no auto-tune, no special effects. Just art. And feeling good.
