Was looking for this exact video! thanks. How long was the install for just the STI engine mounts? I'm NA with stock header, is there anything I need to look out for?
@brzser83873 жыл бұрын
It took me probably around 3 hours. But it was harder since I had a turbo manifold and tight clearance. If you still have stock header it should be a bit easier.

Hey brother, after disconnecting the steering rack and reconnecting, did this mess with your alignment? I’m about to do my mounts as well in a couple days.
@brzser83872 жыл бұрын
Hope it went well! For me at least, I didn't feel anything funky, lol.

@@brzser8387 Hahaha, I ended up having to get it realigned because I couldn’t get the wheels back to center before hard mounting the rack again 😅 I appreciate the video though, helped a ton!

I can barely hear your audio but thx for the video. I'm looking to order STI mounts for my 86 after boosting it with the SBD kit.

Sorry about that, I'm still very much a noob at editing, recording and youtubing, lol. If you have any questions let me know, happy to help.

Are you on FT86club ? Thought i saw your username on there posting that you were selling your turbokit and going supercharger for CA state emissions compliance.. unless someone else has your same name on there :)

I was lol, take a look at the sneak peek somewhere near the end of this video, haha. The super charger is for another car.

@@brzser8387 NOOOOOO!! haha.. CA always be hatin' on turbos.. So are you just continuing to mod the turbo vehicle for whomever you sell it to? Or am i creating spoilers by asking questions on here? hahaha I'm gonna be reeeaally interested in your thoughts on turbo vs. supercharger with regard to daily driving / fun factor. Especially depending on which style SC you go with. I've heard to be careful with certain style superchargers that build boost right away since the stock rods are fairly weak.. with the SC's that build boost with RPM being safer.. i'm sure you've done all of that research as well though :)

no worries, the BRZ stays with me , haha. I took a chance at the FRS because it was fully loaded in parts. It's going to be more of "flipping the car and parts" for cash which will hopefully fund my engine build :D. It'll change into a vlog style kind of video. Unfortunately tho the car was from Florida and tuned on 93 octanes. Not only that I was having some problems that seemed to be tune related, and the tuner lost the file for the tune. That would run me around $500 to retune since I'm not the original owner. So in the end, I ended up putting it back to stockish rather than compare the two running e85. I put back stock injectors and ran the carb legal tune for smog here in California.

Yes it did!

You should get a JDL manifold down the line if that manifold ever cracks.
@brzser83875 жыл бұрын
That's the plan! Right now there's a leak on the driver side of the header even when torque down. I haven't tried to change over the gasket, but if i do end up taking it off I'd rather have the JDL on hand because its somewhat tedious to take off that turbo manifold.

@@brzser8387 would go for the UEL?
@brzser83875 жыл бұрын
@@romariosmith422 yeah! I really miss the UEL sound back when i was running tomei UEL. The good thing with HRI tuning, he mentioned the tuning will be minimal so he can do the retune for free.
