As someone who has been interested in Aviation and aerospace technology since I was a child, thank you for making these videos! This kind of perspective is rarely seen, and your passion for what you do really shines through in the things you show us and how you explain them. I really appreciate everything you do, taking whatever opportunity you have to show us fascinating parts of your job. It could be helpful to add a simple disclaimer at the beginning of the videos stating that you are showing a small slice of *many* moving parts and procedures involved in aircraft maintenance, and that it would be impossible to film every single procedure and task. Perhaps something like that will belay the concerns of people in the comments who don't understand how complicated this process can be.

They are modified B737-700's with fuel tank modifications to carry more fuel as well as UARRSI for in-flight refueling. It has a modified communications suite as well as military communication equipment like SATCOM, TACAN's, etc. They also have the short field operations upgrade kit applied. The C-32 (B757-200) carries the VP, First Lady, and other individuals at the high cabinet level (Secretary of State, etc). The C-40C (B737-700 BBJ) is a mobile command center. It contains all sorts of classified communications tech and whatnot. I think this is a C-40C, not a C-40B based on the antenna. Either way, someone important is in town. Probably VP, based on the fact that the C-40 was accompanying. The C-32 is only Air Force Two when the VP is onboard. Sometimes, the C-32 will carry POTUS if the VC-25 can't get to the airport POTUS is travelling to.

While he is correct about the vortex generator, the way it works is by doing just what the name says. A vortex will stick to the top of the wing in a way that turbulent air won’t, and it has a nice side effect of sucking nearby air into it thus eliminating even more turbulence. It’s most useful during higher angles of attack where the engine especially disturbs the air.

Hey Stig, it's a good thing KZbin recommended your vids, can't stop watching 😅. Keep up with the awesome vids!! It's awesome that you're showing this part of Aviation, from the eyes of an AME! ❤ Makes me feel proud of what we do and why we do it. ☺️ 9:24 oh, and as for why this Gulfstream G600's thrust reverser is deployed, I did asked some of my pilot friends who do this. They said, that since those engines produce a lot of thrust at idle, in order for them to taxi at a normal speed, they have to ride on brakes, or else those jets taxi fast. Since the engines are higher off the ground (very less likely to ingest FODs) , they'll just deploy 1 reverser, (sometimes both) at idle to zero it's thrust and maintain a slower taxi speed. This just alleviates their need to keep holding on the brake pedals and also, potentially prolonges the brakes' life. Just a share😊.

This is incredible! Airliners look so smooth and simple from far away but the closer you move, the more tiny details reveal themselves. Crazy how much you are able to tell us about even the tiniest things that I have never noticed

And I am just talking about the simple stuff, if I start digging into sub systems, it will blow your mind.

I'm an aeronautical engineer and currently getting a master's in space engineering. During the last year of my undergrad I lost the passion I always had for airplanes (I blame the pandemic and the attitude some professors had). I discovered this channel and all that passion came rushing back, so thank you for putting this high quality content out and being a guy that stops to smell the roses, I identify a lot with that "enjoy every moment attitude"

Another great explained video. I never ever saw our Yankee Charly " Sachsen " that close. Who doesn't love the 747 doesn't love aviation. I remember the times when AA operated the A 330-200/300 to LAX. Been on one in 2019 coming from Philadelphia. I guess they're all gone and got replaced by the 787. 👍
@StigAviation11 ай бұрын
Yep, pretty much all of the widebody aircraft will be replaced by the 787 with us. Kind of sad because I would’ve loved to worked on the new 777X.

Thank you for everything you do!! I've only gotten to fly a couple times but I love watching the ground crews work at the airports, and I always try to give FAs and everyone in a yellow vest a thank you or at least a smile while deplaning (pilots get a casual "thanks for the ride" like a friend just gave me a ride home, always makes them laugh). Please keep the videos coming!! Love from SAN! (Also I think your videos need MORE dad jokes, honestly.)
