Drew I've did the same thing for years lean over the top part of the engine area of the Chainsaw if it's a big enough chainsaw and file the chain that way but most of the time I just put the whole chainsaw in my double vise that I've got up at my dad's in his building and it's on a sliding rail system that I made myself out of a ceramic tile cutter base and I double vise the bar on any saw but I can adjust the vices closer or farther apart from one another depending on the size of Chainsaw bars or if I'm vicing a weed eater during work to something like that I use two vices also because it adds a little more stability and easier on the machine you're working on too

Nice review brother. It's for sure 2 in one nice and tidy with everything together. Have you checked the raker hieght when done with a Husky raker gauge to see the comparison? Keep em rollin. 🌲❤🌲✊
@drewscreations85514 жыл бұрын
TazMan-Kenny Fuller I have, the rakers could stand to come down just a bit more but for most stock saws it does a fine job at bringing them down.

It definitely looks like the best filing system for a standard style chain no doubt and on a skip tooth I can see it not being what you would use for that
@brucearney95364 жыл бұрын
I sure that works but I much prefer a progressive raker gauge like a husky or a carlton file o plate. Prefer makes those for Sthil and you a can buy it cheaper it just blue.

brother I went ahead and hit like to the video which I'm always going to hit like no matter what anyway because you always have really good content but I am curious to see how this still file works because I've heard nothing but awesome reviews on it and I really want to find one but I wouldn't care if I could find just a good used one because they are expensive I know new and right now my vehicle is still broke down and I've got to watch every dollar I make and have because I got to get my vehicle going or one of them anyway

They seem like a good file system and I'm still watching the video right now we're having a lot of bad weather up here it's been raining non-stop since late Thursday night so there's a lot of work to do but the weather is working against me right now

Hi Andrew!!😀😀 I don't like them at all. They are okay for the beginner. But I don't like not being able to roll my file as I'm making my stroke. That way it dosen't were out one side of the file. Also when free handing it's easier to clean your file as you are using it. To each their own. But it's not for me. I have free handed hundreds of chains over the years. My chains are just like Buckins are when I'm finished sharpening them. Take care buddy!!😀😀 Logger Al

Al Dredske I freehand most of the time but I use this every now and again when I don’t feel like filing my rakers on a beat up chain.

do you have to file the gullet after using that file???
@drewscreations85514 жыл бұрын
Sometimes you do sometimes you don’t. I found that I can put a bit of pressure down on it and be able to get the gullet.
