Stihl BG65 Leaf Blower Fix

My neighbor gave me this Stihl BG65 leaf blower for free. I spent $16, cleaned it up and it's running great again. I'm taking it to our beach house and putting it to work as soon as I get it running.

Mine did the exact same thing I replaced the carb to no avail. Is yours still running good? a friend told me to replace the spark arrestor.

Yes, it’s working and I use it all the time. I had to replace the fuel pickup line again as it turned to mush. The line is poorly manufactured and doesn’t have enough meat on it so it just developed holes and leaked. Agree with your friend’s recommendation on the spark arrest.

Thanks for the instructional video. I have only one question, what tool did you use to remove the housing to be able to change out the parts? A Philips screwdriver doesn't work.

Those are Torx drivers and/or bits. You can get a whole set for very little cost.

Spark plug gap is .020". Never use the old plug to determine the correct gap... and you've just been shown why.
