Glenda I watched your video and created a 25 fan Row in Maroon and added a row of white and just have to say I love your patterns so much. I can watch you and then go do it! They are easy to follow! I can not read patterns as I learned by watching my grandma when I was 4 and she gave me scraps to play with. At 8 she let me start helping her with king sized afghans that she sold. I absolutely loved it!! And still enjoy crochet today!

I made one row with no problem thanks to you step by step instructions. When I got to the part where I needed to add another row I must have put this down three or four times saying I just couldn’t do it. I went back determined to do this and finally listened to you and it was like magic. I am going to make a topper for my spare room bed. Thank you so much for these videos. Can’t wait to see what else I can do. Never crochet before and I am left handed but you make it so easy.

Thank you so very much, Glenda, for figuring this out for me!!! I am beyond ecstatic about it and so glad I can finally incorporate this stitch back into my life. I am going to link this video when I upload, tonight! Thank you so much for your time and talent!!! I am so very appreciative to you. I did find an easier way to do the slip stitch into the third double crochet without turning the work. I took the hook out of the loop and inserted it into the stitch and back in to the loop and then slip stitch.

Always love and enjoy the different stitches and patterns you present and teach! I, too, am interested in seeing your edging idea(s) when that time comes. Hugs and Love❣️

I”m giving it a whirl right now! So easy! Thank you Glenda (and Marnie) for this wonderful project. I’m actually doing the slip stitch in the 4th stitch rather than the 3rd and I’m finding that it makes the ‘braid’ more even on both edges. Just my preference... Will put a picture up on your website when I finish my scarf! 🌹❣️

I’m new at this, but I’m thinking that for the first row, instead of 5 double stitches, do 7 double stitches and a single stitch, then slip stitch the yarn (slip stitch at the top of the 6th & 7th double stitches) back to the top of the 5th double stitch, then chain 3 picking up with the pattern. This may not be perfect, but would help to balance out the beginning and ending edges.
