Interesting how I barely see people use the NTW to destroy vehicles. But I see the M5C Bolte farm/destroy entire servers but the aren't nerfing that...

Why would you nerf the only counter to a vehicle that completely destroys infantry?? They nerf the Little Bird 20mm cannons but completely ignore this garbage of a vehicle.

Not only those facts but it's a close to mid range weapon for the unskilled, and it evens the playing field against relatively skilled vehicles players. They're wiping out a vehicle counter. Now the final, MOST player don't give a shit about what is good for the team or even winning, they do whatever they want and thus ignore the most effective means of death.

The problem is that it currently does the essentially same damage as the M5, but it reloads much faster, has less drop, faster travel time, and you have 30 rounds vs 3 for the M5. I think dropping the NTW damage so that it takes 6 shots to kill a tank (i.e. requires a full reload) would be enough.

My issue was the 15 damage it does to a tank, a modern tank would be a scratch if a 50bmg hit it or 20mm would most likely cause a dent but to dice logic this thing would fully pen the armor and cause stupid damage to a tank but to the bolte or light vehicles I don't care about the damage because those things are op asf

Just unlocked this gun with a friend this week. We both ran it + both Sundance to use the anti armor grenades. Great fun to finally be able to do something against the very strong vehicles. Such a shame they nerf this gun now... Feels like game balance will suffer from it instead of making it better.

Yeah the sundance grenades are great becauss they will do just enough damage to the vehicle that you can finish it off with the NTW without reloading the first mag. Downside is it gives them a massive warning first

Lol "balance" what about if your the 1 driving that tank and random AT grenades just homing on you constantly and everytime you try to push you get instantly blown up by follow up rocket launcher/ntw. :D Soon we just have tanks sitting on hill sniping and never pushing to objectives. Previous BF didn't even have all those AT tools and there were much les whine about them. Vehicles just are big part of BF combat and and they are suposed to be a little harder to deal with. Consider than often theres also more than 1 guy inside a tank and with coordination they should be getting good runs. Ofc you can still instantly die if you drive too close to 2 guys with recoilless, drive across a mine, get C4 droned or chopper just deletes you etc xD Vehicles are mostly fine if you got the right tools at the moment and if not then just have better awareness and try to avoid vehicles until someone with the right tools can handle it.

@product Its far worse than a DXR/SWS at sniping. You're pretty much guessing where the bullet will land after 100m. The reload animation is right up there with LMG's and each bullet takes like 5 seconds to load. The mag is low as hell as well. A pp-29 can still shoot down 5-6 people easily, with the NTW even if youre the worlds best player you can only hope you land all shots (which is 3-4, dont remember exact.) I pretty much exclusively snipe unless the teams playing like bots and cant hold a point and avg a min of 35-40 kills with the DXR, but i can rarely get over 20 with the NTW. Its far from OP. Hop in a bolt for 5 minutes and you've got 20 kills just like that.

It 3 shots transport vehicles before the nerf and that’s if they don’t use repair systems. By the time you can get 3 shots off with this sniper you could get killed like 4 times over from a 30mm so I don’t know why it’s getting nerfed edit: after the update i went into co op and spawned in a bolte it took 7 shots from the ntw to kill it. thankyou dice very cool

Not only that but 90% of the time I get 2 shots off then they run away. The bolt action + lack of cover in each map make it balanced. If anything id use the 50 to scare a vehicle away from the point to give us some breathing room or stall for our own tanks to get there.

If I'm honest, I don't think the 30mm should be on any lightweight vehicles. Using it on the hovercraft/bolte/ranger on breakthrough, the fact you can also drop it anywhere (including on top of buildings) just means you can completely own the objective and delete people is a bit of a problem. The vehicles that should be hard to take down and do damage should remain as it's always been, tank, jet and heli as there's limited numbers of them. Seeing 8 boltes driving around all firing 30mm weapons into rooms and splash damage killing people isn't right.

yeah this is the only thing that's annoyed me so far about the game. And thats saying a lot considering the "popular" mindset around it currently. The NTW is fun to use, but its a long shot from OP. Though some did point out its scalability with other players, say if 10 players used the NTW on one vehicle it wouldn't live very long.. so i guess it makes SOME logical sense. but you wont find 10 players using this gun even when everyone is 60+ i reckon. as sniping wise, you get more kills with the DXR - and well.. infantry wise? its useless compared to smgs. So it just doesnt really make sense to nerf it imo.

In BF4 if I can get just one person to use my soflams they wreck vehicles, hell I can solo it with a TOW launcher, but it's freaking difficult to get people working together.

And it's the closest bit of logic i could find as reasoning for its nerf. Otherwise its literally just "oh this one video with a really good player made the weapon look good, we need to nerf that!" which.. would be completely crazy if you ask me. The gun is dogshit compared to snipers at "sniping" is nowhere near as good as a M5 in terms of anti-air and is really just great when it comes to last hitting most vehicles. What its true use it imo is penetration, allowing you to more easily snipe drivers out of their seats. which currently is next to impossible unless you get the perfect angle using a DXR/SWS. Also SOFLAMS have been bugged since the start, i frequently see people firing after it. but rockets do not re-lock after air vehicles use flairs. This is adressed in the upcoming patch however, so you'll likely see a spike in effectivity for the soflam.

DICE should give you a complimentary in game medal for all the Bolte’s and hover tanks you’ve destroyed. Probably saved them from losing a couple dozen players out of frustration. I think it would be wise to try and tweak vehicles so that they are more suited for taking down other armor rather than being infantry farming devices.

I always had a take that was fairly well received from others. Increased distance, increased damage. The further away you hit someone, the more damage it does. Rewards good shooting without it becoming the meta. That way you aren't getting hitmarkers at 300+ meters. Always made sense to me

issue is that a single coordinated squad with NTWs currently literally makes any and all vehicles obsolete. To prevent that you basically have to nerf the thing so hard that it becomes unviable for random games. The bolte is the other way around. It totally stomps on random servers where there is no coordination, and it completely blows on servers with a coordinated enemy team because it just gets locked down and dies instantly. How do you balance something in a game where the balance is so massively team dependent?

Yeah not really seeing the Bolte as too much of a menace with 100+ hours in the game so far. Everyone carries around M5 lately, and as long as peeps can lead a shot it's fairly easy to just drop them. I think it's often forgotten that the bolts tracks lock up almost allll the time when taking damage lol xD Personally for me, I see Jets as the big issue. A good Jet fighter can take advantage of the vehicle and not only have top tier positioning, but of course the great firepower and just completely decimate and control the sky

I think the NTW was nerfed because the Hovercraft had its health lowered, and the light attack vehicles are supposed to be the main targets of the NTW. But since the Bolte wasn't nerfed alongside the Hover, well...

IMO leave the bolte as it is but move it out of light vehicles and put it in with the tanks/AA, you then have the option of a hard hitting heavy tank or a light fast tank but there wont be a swarm of them as everyone on the battlefield spawns it. I’m usually against nerfs in general but in this case I’m for it. Regardless of how good any vehicle can be or how many people have it unlocked …. Everyone can run with the ntw 50, you can only have so many of any type of vehicle . The alternate solution is make vehicles have more important weak points to hit that do way more damage when you hit them vs lower damage to the other points/ at the wrong angle.

What they should do is make sure that the AP rounds of other weapons actually do something worthwhile against vehicles. 200 ap rounds in an armored vehicle should do more than chip at it. That would make the rounds useful and worth the trade-off from infantry damage.

Dice really just needs to take a hard look at splash damage overall. Nerfing the Nightbird was a step in the right direction, but the main weapon that people use on the bolt-e is the cannon with the explosive rounds( the 40 mm I think). The problem I see with DICE just nerfing the bolt-e is that people will just use other vehicles with them same weapon load out; I'm already seeing hovercrafts and LAV-4 Recons with it and It's getting really annoying, especially with the stun lock that comes with the explosions.

Sundance (arguably one of the most played specialists, at least in my lobbies) can toss 2 anti-armor nades and completely disable the bolt for so long that anyone with a rocket will take it out, or a tank with good positioning and any awareness will one tap it. Plus, with the NTW it's also easy to take out (of course that seems to be changing, and I think changing the NTW is kind of dumb). The bolt is strong, but I don't agree it's OP. The one thing that IS OP about the 30mm on it is that it seems to have "explosive" rounds even when shooting at targets in the air, so it's super easy to kill someone in a parachute; I think that definitely needs changed.

Well I think they are for sure wrong to nerf the ntw. It sucks they are getting rid of the one thing it was really good for. Now unless the nerf is small it won’t really have a place in the game.

I think they should reduce the damage the rounds do to vehicles so it takes up more of your ammo to completely destroy a vehicle but they should also make it so the rounds don't affect tanks and higher armored vehicles, so the nightbird and the hovercraft for example still take damage but the trade off it they are quicker, but the heavier vehicles slower vehicles are immune to balance it out

Bolte is great as is...I've got hours both on foot and in the Bolte and it takes skill to keep it alive. There are a lot of ways to counter it.

In a game of this type there will always be SOMETHING that's a problem. They nerf the hover, and the Bolte rises to power. If they nerf the Bolte, then the next strongest thing will get some love. You can nerf things forever, and something will always be best unless all the guns and vehicles are the same...

The bolt "rose to power" because people hit level 50, not because the hovercraft was nerfed

Yes on maps that are more for vehicles let’s nerf the weapons used to destroy vehicles!!! Thats a billion dollar idea. We dont care that people getting destroyed repeatedly by vehicles that theres only 5 ways to destroy, and most of those ways you dont have enough ammo to destroy vehicles. Bloody excellent idea!!! Me personally think they need to make vehicles cool down timers longer. And add a hella lot more close quarters areas that they cant go. You know for the guys that want to actually be in a shoot out that they have a chance to win. Lol

Great vid as always. I have a question, I used the NTW for a bit more than 15hours I think, and I keep getting hit marker on people without armor. Sometime it OS at up to 150 / 200m, but sometime, even at 40 / 60 meters, I get a hitmarker, which is really annoying because I can't really figure why. I will had that I don't think it's related to body part, cause I did some tests each time I found a guy camping where I could shot where I want, with even a OS I the feet at 215m.

I honestly don't know what they should do. I usually spend most of the game killing vehicles. The maps are so big and open you just get destroyed by anyone that knows how to play them. The AA launcher takes to long to lock on when your not in an open field some many things break the lock on. I feel like hardly anyone even attempts to shoot them down. I was looking forward to the ntw but have not unlocked it yet
