i had a go of one on my prone board. mounted it at the top of the mast and used it to catch tiny unbreaking waves. i could then pump back out without the motor and link waves. It's the only one that is good for prone foiling

Much better to have only the santenna receiver than the whole battery box on deck. Seems solid and very smart. The trigger ergonomics may be pretty good for wingfoiling as well

Yes. It's too early to compare. Foildrive is an established brand with hundreds of users. Stoke is just doing first steps on the market. We need to see more users feedback from it before doing any conclusions or comparisons.

Awesome review. Pretty cool how these type of foil assist products are advancing so quickly. I liked that the antenna cable has a detachable plug, much easier to route that cable if you can get a board customized or retrofitted with routing holes. When you were riding it did look a bit draggy with the battery positioned front of mast but i guess that is the tradeoff vs having a battery box positioned on the deck. The hand controller does look a little clumsy, in the stock photos on their website i could not really visualize how you would hold it in the palm of your hand, they way you showed it looks like its pretty small and easy to hold.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Very helpful. Have you seen the sup motor from Itiwit (decathlon)? It is very cheap and was wondering if you think it can be useful for foiling

Itiwit and similar scubajet clones are for SUP use. They are slow and not suitable for foiling

#foilassist is getting more&more popular ... but this system is great for travelling &wingfoil takeoff assistance, however to really efoil it just got a to small battery;-)

Nice review. Thx. Why is this more suited to paddle assist over prone assist. Are the props much further from the masts closer to the tail ?it looks like and would this make for more chance of leash tangle and coming into contact with your body. Never had a problem with FD .i didn't see in the vidoe where you state it has less power than FD? Thankyou!

Yes it has less power compared to FD so i say it’s better for SUP foils

As I only weigh 55 kg do you think it would delivery enough power for prone. My assist plus I get up on prone foil in any condition .rough, choppy water , flat up or downwind without ever using 100% throttle.. what do u think. Again thanks so much for doing these reviews.priceless!!!

I'm confused. if you already have FD+ why would you need second system which has less power and more drag? I would wait for more improvements from Stoke foil and continue with FD+ for now.

interested in light wind winging so really not looking for efoil power, just a boost. This look significantly easier to setup than the foil drive. No tape. NO fussy screws. No big box. Thin cable. Is the whole system about the same weight as the foil drive?

Strange that they are about the same weight. Given that Stoke is an assist only, so less power output, you’d think it would be lighter…

@@JetSurfingNation The issue is despite being impressed by the neater design of this product after going through their website I can’t find any details on thrust levels or battery capacity which leaves us relying on reviewers like yourself to provide these comparisons. A simple it has more/less thrust than an assist/assist plus and I got this much usage out of a battery was what I was waiting for then the video ended

I did not try old assit but I am using FD assist+ every week. It has more thrust and battery life compared to stoke foil if that is what you are asking. It's impossible to estimate exact amount of riding time with these product. Someone heavy like me on a tiny board and a small wing is happy to get 20 minutes per battery. However a lighter person on a bigger wing would use less power and may reach even twice as that. Having battery inside in capsule on the mast limits the size of the battery. I don't have any tech details as well, so I assume it's a smaller battery there.
