Hey Stonnie, I started watching your videos when i got my lab pup 4 years ago. Did the obedience training with him & i'm proud to say that he's one of the most well behaved dogs i've had. I think it's your training that made the difference. The best part is that the training doesn't seem forced onto him. We always end on a high note leaving him wanting more. I like that you constantly praise & encourage the dog & never hurt them. You're an excellent trainer & above all a wonderful human being for loving these animals genuinely. Keep up the good work & Kudos on picking a good wife (your other video), ;-)

I just finished watching all 3 of these videos yesterday and I'm watching them all over again already. Just seeing you get more and more attached to Holmes every second, goes to show how fantastic of a job he will do because he loves working hard for Uncle Stonnie. :) Holmes is just too precious! Hard to tell if he is a show line or a field type lab? He kinda looks like a mix of both. Again thanks for taking the time to make these videos, so many of us really appreciate you, Sir!

Awesome video. I have a friend in California who trains dogs. He says only a small percentage of dogs will ever be SAR. Most dogs are very uncomfortable about heights/ unstable surfaces/tight spaces.

I was worried that my puppy was lagging behind. Apparently not. He pretty much has all the training he can have at this stage. He's still a little spooked about heights, but we have Up Off Under Over Through In Out Sit Down Stay (is iffy) Wait (sometimes iffy) Be Gentle Spin Come And a few more that aren't worth mentioning. Now when I say we have it, I mean he has at least a basic understanding of it. Not polished necessarily. Especially stay, though I think that may be a maturity thing as he is only 12 weeks. His best are Up, Off, Sit, Down, Through, Load up (get in the car), Come, and Be Gentle.

Teach him the heel position sitting and practice walking loose leash indoors getting him to sit before he starts pulling, it'll take awhile to be able to walk loose leash for the entire walk but repetition is key! No need for a prong collar just encourage and redirect with treats. work on getting his attention when you're out so he looks to you for guidance
