❌ STOP doing this during your glute bridges 🛑
- Pelvic floor needs to be pushed DOWN at the bottom of the motion to actually get your glutes to work (and your core).
- squuueeezeeee your glutes at the top (often called “ugly butt squeeze”)

People don’t realize that the move is very small! It isn’t a yoga bridge where you use the chest back and butt.

Always like hearing advice from women when it comes to lower body training. Girls tend to train it better than us men.

Thank you! The only caveat to that is that vast majority of women unfortunately show most lower body exercises incorrectly - pretty much every exercise is shown with a harmful pelvic tilt as it makes the glutes look bigger.

@@VeraLaRo yes ! Totally true, most women do that, but then again, most people training don’t have a clue what they are doing haha. A lot of men too, for example when doing push ups or pull ups. Proper core activation is a Skill.

Great tip! Another thing to note is, it's NOT how high we can raise our butt. Instead, focus on squeezing the butts on the way up.😊

You should absolutely squeeze your butt at the top, but the focus should always be on the motion of bringing your glutes up - that’s where most of the work should come in 💪 if your pelvis is in a proper position, it’s very hard to bring your glutes up higher than they need to be 💪

Hope this helps!! When in doubt, push your pelvic floor down, it’s a good rule of thumb for most exercises!

Genius, this worked so well for me as someone with very sedentary glutes. I could never feel them activate and always felt beidges in my quads until i saw this

Looks like I've been doing this exercise competed wrong. Did brace core but never tilted the pelvis.

You don’t want to tilt the pelvis, you’ll want to start with a neutral pelvis on the bottom 💪 see how it feels for you!

Which part? Glute bridges are usually shown with the pelvis completely out of alignment - most people do then incorrectly.

It’s less about the size of your glutes and more about the position of your pelvis. Keeping it in a neutral position helps save your lower back 🙏💕 hope that helps!

I use my couch to do them and I think it may be a little too high? I feel like I feel it in my lower back the most so maybe I’m just doing them incorrectly!

I would go with bridges instead then (from the ground). Once you’re comfortable, you can elevate your feet first versus elevating your shoulders. Should help you with using glutes more (versus low back). And check my other reel on bridge form & pelvis positioning, could help with form 🥰
