Although I have been lost during my journey in life and stumbled I have fortunately with gods love & guidance and with the values & beliefs that my family had fed me on throughout my life aided me back on to the path of life. I dont think love yourself is the proper way to put it, I mean you cant love yourself to the point where you dont need no one because you need a partner to share that burden you have inside of you and vice versa.
