Thanks. For nuts, I also choose dry roasted ones. Otherwise they are often roasted in toxic seed oils.

Hi, Rupy, glad to see you are on now on board the low carb boat! See Dr Ken D Berry for more info, and Dr. David Unwin, who with his wife deserve Knight and a Damehood. Many thanks for your work.

A few mixed messages here. Carrots? Hummus? Don’t these have high carb values? Seaweed sheets can contain sugar. Almonds, walnuts are better for you than pistachios and cashews, so I’m told. And eggs and cholesterol? It’s the LDL particle size that matters, again,so I’m led to believe, not necessarily the the actual level of lipoproteins. I still feel a lot of this isn’t proven but often more guessed at when two doctors (your good self and Dr Sten Ekberg, equally respected holistic practitioner) are suggesting two different things. Anyway, my conclusion is simple. Listen to your body, read the food labels (if food needs a label, it’s probably bad for us, is the best advice I’ve ever heard), and avoid processed foods at all costs. The closer to the original animal, fruit or vegetable, the better!

You can reduce sugar cravings by not eating sugar and refined carbs. Other ingredients are added to commercial snacks to keep you addicted. Tried and true!

Is it ok to make home made versions of things like energy balls, granola, protein bars, smoothies, etc using whole foods? What if a snack is just a combination of fat and fibre like fruit & nut butter, berries and dark chocolate, hummus and carrots and is it ok to eat fruit alone as there’s different info saying to always pair it with protein or fats for blood sugar?

Given that most crisps are rubbish and that these recommendations are better options, what about potato chips cooked in avocado oil and seasoned only with sea salt?

I buy organic potato chips fried in extra virgin olive oil. So good!
