Yeah same. It was very comforting to know that so many other people feel the same way we do. I recently developed a chronic panic disorder and it’s been so difficult to the point where I can’t even leave me house. I feel so disconnected from reality sometimes which can also cause me to get panic attacks. It’s like a never ending cycle. This video helped me ground myself. We’ve been through a lot so at the end of the day, I hope we come out of these experiences stronger. Wishing you the best

Fatima, Take some action. Meditation heals anxiety and panic attacks as it reprogrammes the mind. Watch alternate nostril breathing meditation videos on Google and do it for 5 to 10 minutes twice a day. You can sit on a chair and do it. Give a slight observation on your incoming -outgoing breath. Read the benefits of the above meditation on Google search. Negative thoughts will reduce. Be determined. Make meditation a daily habit to change your life. Shyaaam Sir, Mentor

My daughter has been experiencing these attacks as well. First she says that she feels like there’s something wrong with her heart, and then it’s as though there’s a ‘cloud inside her head’ and that she’s not breathing nearly enough. If she doesn’t get it under control by then, her body starts to tremble. Sometimes, instead of trembling, she says that she feels like her blood is vibrating. We’ve been to the ER 3 times with her already and every time the results are 💯 % normal- oxygen levels, heart rate, blood pressure etc. It happened again tonight. We found this video and it calmed her down and saved us from another trip to the hospital. Our thoughts and prayers for everyone else who has had to go through this. May God be with you

My friend is a doctor he taught me that when having a panic simply hold your breath and breathe deep and slow. It's a problem with too much oxygen in the body so if having a panic attack CONTROL your breathing. It feels like you might die but if you breathe deep and slow it's beneficial

The dizziness, fear, feeling like you’re in a different realm and that you’re either going to pass out or die. The waves of heat coming over you and the tingling fingers, beating heart omg I just have had enough of this. I would rather just be gone than have to experience this any more. here's a story of my journey with panic attacks, I had a really bad panic attack where I convinced myself that I was dying and my heart was going to stop, my hands started getting pins and needles and then all of a sudden my kidneys felt the same thing and my upper body and then my whole body went tingly and sort of numb, and my neck was so tense that it felt like a magnet was pulling me into the seat, I was in the car and my dad was driving, I was supposed to go to my friends house, now we were rushing to the hospital. We got to the hospital and what helped me calm down was talking, I called my friend, I started trying to move my arms and find a sense of comfort in what I was feeling even though I was completely uncomfortable everywhere, I talked about all of my concerns with the doctor there, and I found comfort in the fact he was certain that I wasn't having heart issues or anything and it was a panic attack. after the panic attack happened for the first time it was a bit of a journey to overcome it, I kept getting anxiety where I couldn't stop shaking whenever I would experience something that felt similar, or thinking about what happened, I didn't want to stop living my life though, so I kept going places I would normally go, like work, travel on the bus 3 hours to the city most of my friends live at on weekends, at first everything felt scary, a lot of "what if's" would rush through my mind, I became scared of going on the bus in fear of a panic attack, and I did have a panic attack on the bus where I couldn't stop shaking, but it wasn't at the same level as the first one I had and I was able to get through it, I tried thinking of things that comforted me, like the calm vibrations of the bus on the highway, watching movies didn't work this time, I don't remember listening to music, but what helped me was knowing that i was on the right track to home and that this was the perfect place for it to happen because its warm and I have a seat I had an hour left on the bus to sit with those feelings and get rid of them, so I kept exposing myself to the bus and everything, and it came to the point where I didn't feel anxious at all to do these tasks I was originally afraid of, but what really ended up helping me the most was going to the gym because I had developed a fear of my heart beating fast, and the gym desensitized me from that sensation, so I am a strong believer in desensitizing yourself definitely try it if your struggling, grounding techniques help too, whenever I feel panic adrenaline now, I count down from five and think about something positive and it never escalates to more than that, but yeah overall it feels like im overcoming this, it happened 3 months ago and the past month ive been doing great so don't give up you will be fine, and remember to observe the world like when you were a toddler whenever you start to feel anxious, and back when panic thoughts and anxiety never existed and you were exited about everything.

The worst part of it is that when even when I’m not having them, I’m always constantly worried and in fear, like THE WHOLE FREAKING DAY. Not only that but just like you guys, I feel like there is something wrong with my heart, with my brain, breathing, etc... I even feel as if I were actually having the worst physical symptoms. And the worst is that I just moved to a foreign country and I just started learning to speak the language. What’s good is that I checked my health before coming and everything turned fine. These anxiety attacks are just horrible. Please send support, I won’t stop fighting until I get through it!

I imagine my panic as a giant wolf or monster. As we learn to fight against it by using therapy and/or medication, as well as exercises like breath work and others mentioned in this video, we can shrink the monster/wolf down over time. Eventually we will have mastery of the fear, and it will be like a small puppy who has occasional temper tantrums. Visualize your fear during a panic attack, and imagine, as you do your breath work or other exercises, that you are shrinking the fear (wolf/monster) down into a simple puppy.

Jess, You need to take some action. Feel relaxation going through your body and mind. Make meditation a daily habit to change your life. @Light4you I am not afraid of death but suffering and pain. That is why I have been in the ER 5 times this year alone and had on right now. The only thing that kept me home was the fact that they always take blood and money. And after several hours later they tell me I am all right, which I am clearly not, they should have psychological help at the ER.

My worst anxiety symptoms.. - Depersonalization - Feelings of impending doom - Heart twitches, Palpitations - Heaviness in chest - Tunnel vision - Getting scared of the smallest bodily sensations I always think if i lay on my left it'll trigger a heart palpitation or i'll crush my heart. I always think i have heart, liver or lung disease :((((((( Anxiety unlocks so much different levels and having to unlink triggers and rewire our brain, it sucks.

I just had a panic attack for the first time ever while I was on a long car ride a bit ago. I headed home but was super thankful for my friend who has been through this. I called him and he helped calm me down and reassured me that I wasn’t dying because I felt like I was. He started describing symptoms that I was feeling (numbness in the hands/feet/face which scared me the most and a lot of others)I finally made it home and now I feel a lot better and the numbness is almost completely gone. I never thought I’d go through this. It is a really scary feeling. This video is really informative and I appreciate it a lot. So thank you. Thank you more than you know.

Had one last night for the first time. The lasting anxiety it’s left me won’t go away. It’s kind of left me in this depressed state. I know it’s temporary but it was one of the worst experiences ive ever had. Completely lost control over my emotions and this dread washed over me so suddenly. I’m sure I’m just describing what everyone else feels but typing this out helps me rationalize it. Me thinking about myself losing control and freaking out only worsened the feeling as well. I was scared I was going to hurt myself or others in the future and knowing I am capable of that was terrifying. I’m never usually like this, I never really get scared when I think of those things but last night in particular made me lose it. I know this will pass but I truly empathize with people who suffer from these.

I’m a server with social anxiety, social situations are VERY daunting for me. I try to forget the times I left parties or events in uncontrollable tears, or hiding in the bathroom at family gatherings from people I use to be so close to. Serving has taught me how to talk even with weight of anxiety on my shoulders. Something surprisingly helpful! I learned I can still socialize normally with my heart beating out of my chest, instead I turn it into excitement. The good thing is it allows you to put yourself in more uncomfortable situations which in turn will lower your anxiety over time.

The symptoms stopped me from being myself. I lost my job left school, terrorized of death. But one day stood up faced my fears. And even though I felt "sick" I ignored the symptoms. When you begin having a panic attack please breath in through your nose slowly then out your mouth. Slowly it'll go away. Then you'll realize it does no harm. No danger. marianella ramirez does it work? I e has anxiety since late 2007 but lately been having it a lot more lately having trouble sleeping lately too which doesn’t help either which I know make it worse, doc said that too but the one key is to remind yourself you’re not going to die even though it feels like it. I’ve been in a lot these past 6 months cause of fear of corona, most of my friends has it got over it, my families older so that’s a fear I don’t want to get them sick. Been off and on for years first couple were the worst getting full blown every day until I got zanax which I rarely take because I don’t want to be dependent on. I m on metoprolol which is a heart beat makes your heart beat a little slower, it helps a little but vs a bad attack nothing helps. Zanax calms the body but other night took like 4 hours for my heart to slow down. Other days I feel anxious or have small bouts of faster heart beat then slower then fast etc until I feel super sleepy and sometimes even then ever lay down and you feel tired yet your heart is tense? Only thing that remotely helps besides sometimes Xanax but talking to my best friend but he has a little girl, he’s patient but I feel bad bothering him even though he says I can always call and if he can’t pick up he calls back ASAP. He tells me he loses sleep sometimes like yesterday he got like two hours sleep due to his daughter waking him up but he goes to work sanitation’s a stressful job he gets palpitations sometimes lifting heavy pails, he’s fine. So he tells and reassures me it’ll be fine, you won’t die you’ve beaten anxiety attacks before, you’ll do it again. He’s really helpful, sometimes I get palpitations so it’s scary. I was also born with a heart defect Atrial septal defect hold in the heart but it’s nearly closed up, it’s so tiny I just get Ecos done every few years just to keep an eye on it for safe measure but all my past docs cardiologist or regular said anxiety has nothing to do with that and it’s so small I can live a whole life with it. But always in the back of my mind oh could it be that, I worry about the future and such. Figured if I talk to other people like you guys who’ve dealt with it because I’ve noticed people who don’t have anxiety don’t get it as well as those who’ve gone thru it. I’ll try anything, I was also on Prozac for years but weaned myself off it months ago. Maybe I should go back on it, I just didn’t want to be dependent on that messing my brain chemistry forever know what I mean when I can do it myself, but this year that’s been very difficult with everything going on but my main worry is the virus. Cause hadn’t had a bad attack in years since March and then few days ago where it took me 4 hours to calm my heart down. Any help or advice is welcome and I hope everyone else here is ok and able to conquer it because right now of late I feel like it’s beating me.😔

My doctor recommended “belly breathing”. So instead of taking deep breaths where your chest rises, take deep breaths where your belly rises and falls. Your brain associates that type of breathing with being relaxed. As someone who had struggled with chronic panic attacks for over a decade, learning this technique has helped tremendously.

Where the panic attacks start to feel so helpless that I think ill never live a normal life again. Want to die because of the discomfort multiple times a day ect. It is ALWAYS me that pulls myself out. This guy is absolutely right! Its all about proving to yourself that your in control, and that what you fear is not valid. I promise you all, your not alone. It DOES get better. There IS hope. You are NOT stuck like this forever. One of my favorite quotes from a movie ever, came from the move Pets 2, when the older dog tells the smaller dog, "the first step to not being afraid is acting like your not afraid".

So great! I am a Columbia alum (high five!) Nurse practitioner working in Neuro and as an RN in psych. I've had panic attacks for 18 years! The more nagging parts are the agoraphobia and anticipatory anxiety! These are GREAT descriptions, coping, grounding...I especially like the explanation of "safety behaviors" versus coping. Agree that the difference can be gray at times! Excellent! Thank you!

I am 47 years old. My panic attacks seem to come and go with a regular pattern every few years. Usually every 3-5 years I will have 3-6 months of very intense and debilitating panic attacks with a lot of general anxiety. I still have anxiety from time to time outside of the above mentioned time frames but it is usually less severe and much less frequently. I have been having panic attacks since 2003. I suffered a very traumatic head injury and event that caused temporary brain damage back in 2001. I never had anxiety or panic attacks before this injury.

It’s when it comes out of the blue and catches you. I find the constant negative thoughts build up over weeks, as you’re piling up the “what ifs” then it hits you like a hammer! Shaking, feeling strange, then the overwhelming feeling and boom!

I suffer severe panic/anxiety attacks. What I do is try to think about stopping the negative thoughts, watching something on my phone, pacing and walking around as well as deep breathing. But, because it’s more chemical I wait for it to end. Sometimes it ends or it lasts long. I think it is more like akethesia where I can’t stand still. So, I need to talk to my psychiatrist. Also, I am on Aminophyllin and Medrol which is causing this. I also exercise to help.

I looooove this video! I’ve always had panic attacks since I was 13 (12 years relationship with panic & anxiety haha) but my usual trigger/fear was afraid of vomiting, fainting or having a heart attack. I managed to work on those somehow, I had no attacks for a couple of years, I was able to go back to using public transportation. Then I moved to London and I met someone who has epilepsy and experienced his seizures on a daily basis (he was a regular customer at the shop where I worked). Since then my panic attacks came back and now my biggest fear is having a seizure. Sometimes my body starts to shake out of nowhere, my mind is being “loud” and I have even crumps in my body parts and the rest is followed by the classic panic symptoms. I’m gonna try your advices and I really hope it will work, because I’m feeling extra miserable like this. Thank you for being such an amazing person and sharing your knowledge for completely free for us on KZbin!❤️

Andrea, You need to take some action. Meditation heals anxiety and panic attacks as it reprogrammes the mind. Watch alternate nostril breathing meditation videos on Google and do it for 5 to 10 minutes twice a day. You can sit on a chair and do it. Observe your incoming -outgoing breath. Read the benefits of the above meditation on Google search. Negative thoughts will reduce. Feel relaxation going through your body and mind. Make meditation a daily habit to change your life. Shyaaam Sir, Mentor

My favorite coping mechanism is drawing, watching funny movies, watching my favorite show, sleeping, meditating, and playing volleyball. I love doing these things because either they get me active, or they make me put my focus and attention on them. Like drawing, for example, helps my put hard work and keeps my attention span in it so I don’t have to waste my day worrying about if I’m sick or whats going to happen in the future.

Found this video in the middle of a particularly bad panic attack that I couldn't calm using my normal techniques. I had never thought of movement/exercise to help calm an attack as normally my panic attacks make me feel sick and my go to in that situation is to be as still as possible; even just moving my foot really helped to de-escalate the situation! Stumbling across this video was the best thing, thank you

Right now you could run faster and you can fight harder. You can jump higher than ever in your life and you are so alert it’s like you can slow down time. What’s wrong with scared? Scared is a superpower! Your superpower! There is danger in this room. And guess what? It’s you.

This video helped me a lot!! I’m 4 weeks into having panic attacks. They started the day a friend of mine died, Feb 5. I’m on BP meds that sometimes make me feel numb or dizzy. Suddenly those feelings have become triggers for panic attacks where I feel like I’m dying. They happen at work, at home, with friends, and at church. This made me feel like I have company in this. In fact, I was having an attack when I watched it and it disappeared as I did 5-4-3-2-1. THANK YOU!
