Fellow Canon 200D + Zoom H1 owner here. Questions I have for you when you are using the above. 1. Do you live in silent space/alone? 1.1 If there are other persons in the house /& electronics thing running, Do you ask them to be silent & turn off electronics say Ceiling Fan, juicer Mixer grinder, TV in another room, etc? 2. Have you tried a lavalier microphone [For Indoor shooting]? My experiences. I live in an apartment [Flats] with my parents (Typical Asian stuff). So when I use Zoom H1, I can literally hear the children playing outdoors, mixer grinder (juicer) from the neighboring apartment(s), Buses & Truck horns (average 150 meters from my home). I tried lower gain, but still can hear the noises clearly even if it is low. The lavalier microphone (even the budget ones) becomes expensive in my region (import tax + sales tax + GST...). Like your content very much 👍

Hello, Gokul! 1. There are other people in my space. I try to close doors and wait till they're done with making their loudest noises. What usually helps is making sure that my voice level is louder than everything else while recording. Meaning I have to project my voice when recording so the background noises aren't as noticeable. 2. I haven't tried lavs indoors yet. I do want to try it out soon though. Hope this helps!

Is there a way to disable the mic recording when using it for recording something digital. (Like from a dj mixer into the mic/line input of the H1)

Very good question, I've done something similar when filming weddings by using a 3.5mm to XLR adaptor plugged directly into the Dj'd soundboard. Always comes out clean!

Great. Do you Start the Zoom audio recorder first or the Video Camera?
@DillonProductions3 жыл бұрын
You can do either or. Just as long as both systems capture the hand clip. 👍🏾

Hi there! Big amateur here, but what is that cage looking thing that is holding the zoom h1 on the mic stand? Is that a separate necessary piece to have it attach to the stand? I hope this makes sense haha! Great video! Super helpful!

Hello, Veronica! Yes, I understand your question. That's the shock mount. It's not always necessary, It's mostly used to reduce handling noise. Thank you for watching!

i have a canon sx520 hs cam and im looking for a mic for it, it doesnt have a input , im wondering how i could get this to work on my device ?
@DillonProductions4 жыл бұрын
Hello, Ty (Love the username)! You can try one of two things: 1. Buy an adapter that'll fit your camera's input like a mini usb to 3.5mm cable (I haven't tried this yet). 2. Record the audio separately, and sync it back up when you're editing later (I briefly cover this in this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/hYukgoZ4jrx_oK8 ). Hope this helps!

Maybe you can research the Movo 10 Pro mic! It have a input on the mic itself
