Brandon with all due respect to all the instructors that you've visited with over the years, I love the way Lee simplifies the explanation of the motion. I love when Lee describes Mike malaska kicking the buttocks away from the golf ball. I believe Milo talked about that move as well. I know for myself that when I thrust my hips at the golf ball I never play good golf. I agree with Lee referencing Mike malaska move of the hips working backwards away from the golf ball allowing the arms to swing down through the ball. Anyway I enjoy listening to Lee describe the golf swing. Brandon I believe that you found the motion that works and it's time to start playing the best golf of your life and compete in Long Beach open this year!!!

Long time listener. First time commenting. This is the best video you've ever done. I've worked for 12+ months to keep my butt back on the tush line and get my hands to go left. The key was his explanation of the hands and butt working together. In cricket terms, the hands work more like a Pull Shot than an Off-Drive. Great coaching.

Hogan did this to transition between backswing and downswing. As to the use of the phrase “keep the back to the target” ...this gentleman makes it seem like a bad thing. I focus on “keeping the back to the target” and done properly it works great for me. He’s demonstrated how to screw up a good thing.

Brendon, I think this video is about the importance of swinging on what Dr Kwon calls the functional swing plane. From DTL this is the elbow plane, a line drawn through the club hosel through the golfers trail elbow. Dr Kwon advocates swinging the club so that the shaft remains on this plane from the position (P6) where the club is parallel to both the ground and target line before impact to a position where the club is again parallel to the ground and target line after impact (P8). How the golf swing appears in a video is quite sensitive to where the camera lens is positioned relative to the golfer. For example, in this video note how the edges of the large mat do not appear parallel even though they are. Also, in the video the camera lens is positioned high up looking down on the elbow plane making it impossible (or very difficult) to see if the golfer is swinging on-plane. Brendon, can I suggest a camera setup procedure that will enable you to see if you are swinging on-plane. Lay down a club on the target line, take your address position and lay the club you are using just in front of your toes parallel to the cub on the target line. Now set up the camera on this line just in front of toes. You will know the camera is set up on this line when the club on this line appears parallel to the vertical edges of the screen (assuming the iPhone is plumb & level). The camera lens should be at hand height. With this camera setup a laser emanating from the lens should skim across the the top of the elbow plane. You can check the camera setup by taking your P6 pre-impact position and getting someone to check the camera to see that only the club-head and none of shaft is visible. With this camera setup the club shaft should remain on the elbow plane line from P6 to P8 if you are swinging on-plane. Bit of a mouthful but hope this helps.

This sounds to me like you want the trail hand passing the lead hand at impact. A fast trail hand and a slow lead hand. I have been following Marcus Edblad golf which seem very similar just a different explanation. Great information as always!

I struggle with the same issue. In short, swing the handle around your waist as if you feel like the club head will pass way inside missing the ball completely. In reality the centripetal force of the club brings it to the ball perfectly. I mean perfectly. Us handle pullers swing AT the ball from the handle as if it's an extension of our hand, causing our mind to make micro adjustments at the end leading to early extension or just some ulnar deviation.

If you keep your back toward the target as long as you can, you are probably not turn the body enough during backswing => early extension or scoop the ball up. If that’s the case try to do shorter backswing and turn your body more during downswing

Oh boy. Remember swinging continuously back and forward with Dr Kwon? And how it showed up little kinks in your motion because the kinks made your club start going everywhere? The rock and block is nothing more than a big kink in your motion. Do the continuous motion drill and the step drills and the kink Lee is trying to straighten out here will disappear.

Isn't rock and block early extension? I always feel as long as I get to the top of my backswing and my hips are moving correctly, no sway, right pocket back, then my hips sequence and move correctly staying on tush line everyelse in the downswing is set and like Milo says 'tow' into impact.

How to complicate matters. Just fold your trail arm allowing your lead side to fold inward as well and then swing the golf club. And don’t think of anything else. The golf club is built to swing on three axis simultaneously vertical/ rotational / intermediate; so swing the club and let the club do what it is designed to do. Cheers
@BEBETTERGOLF2 жыл бұрын
Lead side fold inwards?
@thomasfraser90722 жыл бұрын
@@BEBETTERGOLF yes when you fold your trail elbow always allow the lead side to respond automatically. For example whenever we try to stretch out our backswing we delay the natural folding of our trail elbow and of our lead knee and hip joints as well. Check it out for yourself. So since I now think. Aim Fold & Swing i am walking through all the fairways. Maybe I am a freak of nature; but i don’t think so and I swear at age 74 this is all I am doing just folding my trail arm and swinging my club and allowing all the joints and hinges in my body to respond 100 percent of the time. Cheers
