This video gave exactly what you intended it to be so beautifully. As someone who some of us see as a "successful guy", you became real with us and gave genuine heartfelt advise as to the reality of our everyday lives. It's always about the "One day i'm going to make it" mindset because we're so used to seeing the "zero to hero" trope being played out in the world around us via KZbin, TikTok, Insta, etc. Which doesn't account for the fact that the vast majority of us will not have that story to played for ourselves. 0:40 was visceral. I felt how raw you were in the most casual way that you are when you said you're just starting to figure out how to make yourself happy. It hurts to know that these dreams of not having to work 9-5 sitting in an office just to keep the paychecks going will be a big portion of my life and that I myself will always keep chasing something bigger. It felt like someone talked to me about a shared relation even though we are nothing alike. Thanks for this video, need it :,)

Four months ago I finally bought my first car, a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder Kia Morning, MANUAL. I have had my driver's licence for just over ten years, but I'd been putting off actually owning a vehicle, continually thinking exactly what you said--that I should have just a little more money saved before I take the plunge. Now I have learned to drive stick, and am enjoying ripping around in my very own car instead of just dreaming about it while watching KZbin. Carpe the drive!

I’ve been needing this. I have wanted to start my own company for a while now building my own bicycles and expanding on the world of micro-mobility, but I’ve always said “oh, maybe after I get my degree”, or “oh, maybe after I find a stable job and get some disposable income it could become my side-hustle” - but that’s unsustainable. The ethos in that isn’t capable of allowing for human joy, and it’s time I started to listen to myself and go and live a more fulfilling lifestyle. Finding the romance in everyday life is quite hard, though, I will admit…

Along the same lines I think the biggest lesson I learned into my mid 30s, is that it's ok for the definition of your dreams to change. Sometimes that idea of your perfect trajectory changes as you grow older and your perspective on life changes. Trying to fit the current you to old you's ideal mold can be exhausting and demoralizing.

Words of Wisdom Tedward!!!👍👍👍 Since you’re out in Calif…just a suggestion for you…perhaps a drive to Carmel. Laguna Seca,Beautiful drive back to Southern California on Highway 1,etc. Clint Eastwood owns a hotel in Carmel that allows you to dine overlooking a meadow of his PET sheep and a view of the coast beyond. It’s raining this coming week but maybe the week following? Having said that…as you said…everyone needs to find their happy place and a lot of times they’re free! A sunrise, sunset,a drive anywhere, etc. I’ll close with Carroll Shelby’s thoughts regarding watching his cars being trailered around…used to piss him off because he built them to be driven! So…if you own a performance car…no matter how collectible/rare…get out and enjoy it every chance you get!!! Tomorrow is promised to no one…

I started driving in a 9th gen slowvic and I know it’s more than what most people start in but it’s given me a taste for driving. I was attracted to your videos when I was learning how to drive a manual. Had to go through about ten different people to find a car to practice with. It’s impossible to get what I want when I’m just starting out in life, but I’m beginning to get familiar with the process on my free time, making connections and that’s what makes me happy. Just moved from US to Finland for many of the reasons you stated. Part of being happy is also investing in your everyday and not saving up for vacation or big purchases. Many people put up with long commutes or worse communities to chase a bigger paycheck or larger house. A smaller home in a better (hopefully walkable) community, with a shorter commute will do more to increase happiness than an extra week of paid vacation per year. That's just one example to make a larger point: the need for a vacation (read: de-stressing) is directly proportional to the stress you experience each day. So make sure to have your everyday in order, even if it means a pay cut or fewer material possessions.

What are the odds, this type of conversation I have with myself almost everyday and I even applied some of it to my life. Life is tricky man, and depends a lot on your interpretation of it, most of the time chasing your dreams and making progress towards them is 10 times better than the actual dreams fulfilled. A lot of the nice things that are present in your life right now you are taking them for granted and one day you will miss them if for some reason they are taken from you. Be proactive about finding joy, take steps, planning is fine but you have to act on it, even if it's not a perfect plan it beats doing nothing.
