I have a 3 years old working Cocker. I have spent a fortune on leads and training and despite this walking to heal on the lead was a real problem. I found your videos, watched all of them, purchased one your leads and then used your techniques on my dog. What a transformation. He now walks beautifully and it’s a pleasure to take him anywhere. Thanks Craig, keep up the good work

This is brilliant. Thanks so much for your videos! Please please could you do a video on how to stop a dog excessively barking and lunging every time it sees another dog? My 6 month old cocker spaniel does this every time and won't stop, making it very tricky to walk her. Many thanks

Glad you’re enjoying the videos, I’ll try to do a video in real time for you with a clients dog. But in the meantime the only way you’re going to fix this bad behaviour is you’ve got to go back to basics Back to basics and lots of practice It’s the only way you’ll fix it 🐾👍

another great video, thank you. Could i ask what lead are you using? i have bought some slip leads but they aren’t the best the ring is very tight to the cord.

Can I ask you a question. The corrections you gave Nellie seemed very strong for a little dog, it was quite a jerk, will this not damage her neck and you end up with a dog that is afraid of you?

Hi sir I’ve just stumbled across your channel I have a 8 months old working cocker spaniel and I must admit I’m a bit stubbed as to what I need to do she has over the last month became very possessive and guarding any recourse she gets wether that kibble in a bowl or milk she bares her teeth when you approach her whilst she eats I’m confused because I’m the only person that feeds her. I was wondering if you could spare me a tip to help prevent this escalating.

Obviously without seeing your dog it’s hard to assess but whatever bad behaviour you don’t correct your dog will think it’s ok to do and then it becomes a behavioural pattern I would make her sit and wait for her food and build this up so she’s waiting a few minutes for her food, keep her lead on whilst doing it so it makes it easier for you to correct her once she’s waited patiently and shown no signs of guarding then I would reward her with her food. Only reward her once she does as she’s told 🐾👍 Remember correct bad behaviour and praise good

Can I ask why you’re giving your dog milk?
@TheDogTherapist Жыл бұрын
@@mssdn8976I don’t give my dog milk, I never have and never will. I only ever give my dogs water

@@TheDogTherapist I was replying to the person posting about resource guarding above, giving kibble in a bowl of milk, like cereal to a child

@@mssdn8976 I said kibble in a bowl OR milk meaning it’s one or the other not kibble with milk next time you end a sentence with a contentious remark actually read what someone has wrote

It looks like you can't walk naturally because she is too close to your leg. Does that not become uncomfortable for you on longer walks?

A question if I may. I see that Nellie is 6 months there. At what age is a pup capable of that level of training please and how long should a session be? I have a 4 1/2 month Cockapoo that gets overwhelmed very quickly.
@TheDogTherapist Жыл бұрын
It obviously depends on the owner and their individual skill set, however with 5-10 minutes sessions 2-3 times a day you should be able to walk to heel really quickly Have a look back at the previous videos of Nelly and her little journey and you’ll see at 4-5 months old her heel work was really good 🐾👍
