Idk if this is intentional but this vid is such a good move. When a content creator becomes bigger and more glamorous, they lose relatability and their fans become estranged. Bringing it back to the roots builds that bond again.

The way a video of someone telling their childhood stories was so comforting
@mtwess
@mtwess 6 ай бұрын
One of my most favorite things in the world is learning about peoples childhoods or their favorite memories. Its such an intimate, beautiful thing to hear about the little flickers of the past that people still remember. A favorite snack, a best friend, something they only did with their parents that they still do today out of habit. A coworker once told me about how her family owned a small theater in one of the neighboring towns, like a full on old projection type theater that took breaks halfway through the movie. She told me about how shes a movie geek now because her and her brothers got to watch all of the new movies before they came out. She told me about how they used to draw all other the walls in the projection room and eat the snacks for free. It was seriously such a cute memory to share and she seemed so nostalgic and happy just to be able to talk about it and share it. People are so cute, and childhood is so precious.

Listening to your stories and memories was so comforting because it was almost like talking to an old friend that I once knew but don’t know anymore. So most of those memories are buried in didams candy and nothing Bundt cakes but you brought them back to life. You’re a great reminder of dreams! both old and new. Reminder of who I once was and who I wanted to be. That seems to get lost as you get older so thank you for low key making me cry and crave nothing bundt cake samples. I hope you make more videos like this. The way I was LOCKED IN. we love you Emma

I rarely comment - I don’t exactly fit your demographic - but I saw a new post and was ecstatic! You remind me so much of my 29-year-old daughter. Yes, I’m a 54-year-old grandma! You give great advice to people young and old. I want you to know how much your videos help me when I am really missing my little girl. She is in the Navy and far away. Her birth mom died when she was very little. I raised her like my own. In videos when you have your hoodie on your head I swear you look just like her! What’s kind of funny is that her baby, my little granddaughter, is named Emma!! I love your coffee; we get it at Walmart. I wish you all the best! ❤

this hits home, this exact feeling when coming back to your hometown is something we all felt sometime, and you captured it perfectly... steady shots, empty streets, childhood buildings, grey nostalgic tones... yeah this is a deep kind of feeling

The thumb break-story is very touching and is breaking my heart a little. Being a child, experiencing so many things for the first time, not yet having a frame of reference of what's ok to have to just live with and deal with alone, and what's rather something someone could really demand support for. And maybe not have the language to communicate ones struggles.. Younger Emma found a way to cope with her anxiety, like many other children find their coping mechanisms. Emma is showing such respect to her inner child in the way she's telling these stories, I think that serves a healing purpose

Emma, I just started listening to your podcast and vids. I'm 22, and relate to your content. You crack me up. I also came from a small town and was an anxious kid. Also changed my hair color 100000000000 times. I feel you. If you by chance see this comment, just know you're not alone. You have so many people that relate to you.

I have the perspective of splitting my time growing up between a small town and a huge city and I can tell you, the small town is better. It’s more inherently boring, but it fosters greater creativity. And I feel like I forged stronger bonds of friendship there. Plus there’s a lot less fear and violence. Being a kid in a big city can be tough, let me tell you.
