My skin is too sensitive and my barrier is sensitive . I live by a farm who sells raw natural milk and heavy cream . Raw milk contains lactic acid naturally so I make a facial from it and my skin reacted way better than it did to the strong chemist lactic acid . Raw dairy cleared up my skin has never then this good . Only downside is it also removed my tan and made me whiter than ever.

I've used both of the ordinary lactic acid strengths and the paulas choice 10 minute mask. All are great. Lactic acid from the ordinary is obviously a milder leave on but when I wake in the morning my skin is noticeably brighter. The paula's choice is great for that day when you want to go deeper. old comment, but two possibilities - your moisturiser might be too occlusive and intensifying the effects of the lactic acid, or you applied your moisturiser too soon after the lactic acid. I recommend waiting for 10-15 minutes between the lactic acid + moisturiser

Which is the best lactic acid serum or exfoliater product for oily , sensitive skin?
@SkinZoneTV
@SkinZoneTV 2 жыл бұрын
Any of the ones mentioned in the video will be good but I would start by only using once a week if you are sensitive. It’s normal for you to get some tingling for a few minutes but it should subside. I would also include niacinamide in your skincare routine to help with barrier repair if you are both oily and prone to sensitivity. Avoid face cleansers that contain sulfates or give you that squeaky clean feeling as that is often a sign of stripping away your natural oils and your skin will try to compensate by producing excess oil.

Hola, para la hiperpigmentación qué es mejor el ácido láctico o ácido glicólico?
@SkinZoneTV
@SkinZoneTV 2 жыл бұрын
Both are great, however lactic acid has a larger molecular size so it is more gentle less irritating on your skin. It is also hydrating. So if you have dry skin or sensitive skin, it would be more suitable. Glycolic acid has a smaller molecular weight which means that it penetrates your skin easier. However, because of this, it’s also more likely to cause skin irritation. You could find a serum that has both acids in it that is well formulated, and that would be perfect!

Vitamin C is great for brightening the skin and helping your hyperpigmentation. However Olay would have a low concentrate of this ingredient. I would opt for The Ordinary or Paula’s choice for your skincare if you are looking for affordable active skincare ingredients. The ordinary alpha arbutin, niacinamide and vitamin c serum will be great. Remember sunscreen too. Melasma is often caused by hormonal or medication changes. It is a different type of pigmentation. If you’ve had it for a while and you are not pregnant/breast feeding - get this checked with your doctor :)

Hey Laila, yes lactic acid from the ordinary is great but only use 2 x per week. It is a gentle form of exfoliation but ensure you wear sunscreen daily. It won't fade your hyperpigmentation alone though, but it is the best exfoliation ingredient to use for hyperpigmentation. Other ingredients you should add to your routine are Alpha Arbutin, Niacinamide and Azelaic acid. These inhibit the enzyme that creates pigmentation so it will prevent excess hyperpigmentation from forming but also fade your current dark spots. Hey!! Lactic acid is exfoliating, so replace it for your exfoliation phase of your skincare routine. Apply all over the face, neck and chest area. Avoid eyes and lips. It is a more gentle form of chemical exfoliant and it is hydrating. If you have sensitive skin, opt for a lower % and start off slowly by using only once or twice a week. You can always patch test prior to use, but follow product usage guidelines of the skincare product you purchase. Niacinamide would also be a great skin ingredient for your sensitivity and hyperpigmentation.

Hyperpigmentation is a stubborn skin condition that requires ongoing maintenance of the correct skin care ingredients to inhibit the tyrosinase enzymes in the skin that produces excess pigment. Lactic acid as an exfoliation will help lighten the area, but if it is around the mouth it sounds hormonal. You can chat to your doctor about your hormone levels. Ingredients like niacinamide, vitamin a, vitamin c, alpha arbutin and lactic acid are perfect for homecare.

AHAs and BHAs, such as glycolic, salicylic, and lactic acids should never be used with Vitamin C. Vitamin C is an acid, too, and is unstable, so the pH balance will be thrown off by layering these ingredients together and might as well be useless.

Vitamin C is anti-aging as it stimulates the fibroblasts in the dermis to create more healthy strong collagen. You can always include The Ordinary granactive retinoid 2% to your routine in the evening. In terms of your hands and feet, they will be naturally darker than the rest of your body as they exposed to sunlight more often. Bha is perfect for helping with breakouts, milia and blackheads as it is oil soluble and able to penetrate deeper. Lactic acid is a gentle acid perfect for hyperpigmentation

Hello! this video is really interesting, I was just looking for something to help me understand my skincare a little better. I have some small spots on my cheeks, such as freckles, do you think lactic acid could be for me? And if so, how to add it to my skincare? Thank you so much 😊

Hey there, happy to hear you enjoyed the video and learnt something :) You can use a serum with lactic acid in it to replace your exfoliation phase of your skincare routine. You can use this twice a week. I recommended some options in the video towards the end with different budgets. I also have listed them in the description :) What are you currently using in your skincare routine? I can make sure you apply in the correct order.

@@SkinZoneTV Hello and thanks for the quick reply! I discovered your channel only today and I signed up immediately, because you deal with very interesting topics, as I said before. So, I use these products for my skincare, after cleansing and in order of use: MORNING -The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 -Eclat Vitamin C Serum -The Ordinary 5% caffeine solution + ECGC for the eye contour -The Inkey List moisturizer with vitamins B, C and E -ISDIN fusion water spf 50 EVENING -The Ordinary Buffet + copper peptides 1% -The Intuition of nature bakuchiol serum -The Ordinary Caffeine Eye Contour (same as in the morning) -The Inkey list moisturizer (the same as in the morning, but I think I'll start using a slightly more consistent cream for the evening) Keep in mind that I'm 46, I have dehydrated and very sensitive combination skin. With these products I have improved my hydration a lot, but I don't see any brighter skin nor do I see any improvement with the little spots I have on my cheeks. They are very light and as I said they look like freckles, so I cover them easily when I put on makeup, but I didn't have them before ... Do you think I should integrate or change something? I have never done peeling or exfoliated in my entire life, and I am a little afraid because I have very sensitive skin. Sorry if I have dwelt, but I hope to be of help to other people too, and sorry for my English but I am Italian and I am using a translator. Thank you so much for your help, and for the time you spend on us. 🙂

@@lafilosofiadiofelia1700 You have done amazing with your English, I understood you perfectly. You have a great routine so well done. Since you are not seeing results with your hyperpigmentation I would consider adding niacinamide, and a retinoid. I know you are using bakuchiol which is an alternative to retinoids. Once you run out of that product, you could try a retinoid to use 2-3x per week to begin with. Retinoid is more gentle than a retinol and would be a good starting point since you are more prone to sensitivity. Niacinamide is great for hyperpigmentation and sensitivity so that would be suitable for you. Keep in mind you cannot mix niacinamide or retinoids with vitamin c. Lactic acid is a gentle form of exfoliation so including this once a week would be beneficial also. However I would add the niacinamide + retinoid first, if you are hesitant on exfoliating. :) Vitamin A (retinoid) is naturally exfoliating Hope this helps!

@@SkinZoneTV Hey 🥰! Thanks again for the valuable information, they will be of great help to me. So you advise me to start with a combination of niacinamide and retinoid ... should I use both of them during my evening skincare? In that case, what do I omit to use those, and where in my skincare should I insert them? And which retinoid do you recommend, a particular brand? Then maybe I'll add the lactic acid later, and I'll definitely take the one from The Ordinary.

@@lafilosofiadiofelia1700 Hey! You are most welcome. Yes the ordinary has niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and a range of Retinoids/Retinol in different strengths. Start on the Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion (oil free) or Granactive Retinoid 2% in Squalane (oil form). I have a video on the difference between The Ordinary's Retinoids and Retinols if you are interested in learning more about them - kzbin.info/www/bejne/i6Osm4xjeNqNgpo You can use niacinamide + retinoid together alternating nights to your buffet. EVENING Night 1 -The Ordinary Buffet + copper peptides 1% -The Ordinary Caffeine Eye Contour (same as in the morning) -The Inkey list moisturizer (the same as in the morning, but I think I'll start using a slightly more consistent cream for the evening) EVENING Night 2 -The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1 % - The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 2% in Squalane -The Ordinary Caffeine Eye Contour (same as in the morning) -The Inkey list moisturizer (the same as in the morning, but I think I'll start using a slightly more consistent cream for the evening) REPEAT
