Exactly. The idea that only studs or butches should be with fems perpetuates heteronormativity in a way, because of “opposites attract.” The labels themselves can be limiting, since gender expression is a spectrum. I would say I’m more feminine, but not a fem. Nothing wrong with using labels if you identify with it, but something to keep in mind I guess.

I like how you mentioned that you got more attention when you started to sag, wear hats backward etc. etc. i am a femme that likes femmes. And I also used to get into debates with studs in the club. they're never hostile, but more like disses on the low covered with a smile. IDK how a stud can even be mad, when 9/10 the girl i like will choose them over me lol?? So I go for femmes (who usually go for studs) But i can usually flirt my way into a situation even if they prefer studs, because back then i was only looking for something temporary. I myself am a Gen X femme that is hardwired for butch women but I think butch on butch love is so special and beautiful. I distinctly remember the first stud/stud couple I met, and the squirmy beautiful feeling I had, it was almost a sense of awe.
