Stove Burner Receptacle Block Replacement

How to replace a stove burner receptacle. These seem to go out eventually and it's a simple fix. No special tools required, wire stripper and cutter will do.

Appalachian you get the donut____all the other videos glossed right over the trick to snap in the terminal wire, and my kits instructions only focused on the wire nut end. I was at a loss watching a total of 4 other videos thinking why isn't anyone explaining this key (better get it right) step! Thank You, it was so easy and reassuring to hear that "snap" as it locked in place___I did feel like a idiot,, but I gave myself a pass because I had never done one of these before.

Thanks! Myn is melted. Got a replacement but the screw doesn't line up proper I need the one that you didn't use. I called a stove repair type guy and they are charging 150$ to fix.. I may fix it myself. So odd it has to be spliced and fixed like this

Does it matter if I don't heat up the heat shrink to shrink it and just slide it over if it's tight already covering the wire nut?

Help! After 2:20 when you snap the end inside the plastic box and it snaps, it doesn't snap for me no matter what I do. If I pull the cable it comes right out. When I install the burner it's going to push it out of the box. What to do? I have the exact thing too.

You should only have two hot wires. cant help you there

Is that a ge spectre electric range? What parts did you use? Seems like GE electric ranges don't use universal parts

mine was easy. I could clearly see scorch marks on mine. however if this is not the case for you, simply use a multimeter to see if you get voltage on the two contacts.

3 out of 4 of mine melted out within last month. Seems like easy replacement but I’m concerned why they all burnt out around the same time???

@@appalachiandiy2415 Not sure if you were talking to me or Lance, but I did not see any bare wires under the hood or in the back of the knob control panel (basically checked all the wiring in the stove) replaced the receptacle blocks the day after my comment, they're working perfectly (for now)

I went to Lowe’s and brought the replacement and did as instructed and didn’t work. I also have a new element. What else? Maybe the brand. It’s a Kenmore oven.

Check the wires with a multimeter and see if there is power to the connector
