Excellent video. Here is a tip: If you want not to remove the stove from the wall, remove the bottom storage drawer. You will be able to unplug it on many models without having to move it.

How about just shutting off the power breaker and use a volt meter to check it.

I have replaced my Range's terminals two time, for the big coils, each time the terminals burned again after a couple of months. Initially they looked good to me having good contact (no loose connection).

@@Flowerchild778 I replaced my stove because replacing the coil element was not the solution. It got burned out within weeks.

I've looked all over the place for those 'clips' that go on the drip pans (aka: drip bowls) to hold the element in the drip pan's notch. Tried to buy drip pans (via Amazon) with those clips but was lied to and ended up with drip pans without the clips. If the only way I can get those clips is to buy drip pans that have them, I will. Any help you can offer to point me in the right direction will be appreciated. Thank you..

Most terminal blocks don’t come with twist connectors or shrink wrap, so you need to get those separately or find a supplier that includes them.

One coil electric burner keeps on going to high (red hot) even at a low setting 2 or 3 low heat setting. Should i replace the Surface Element Terminal Block? The stove is only 5 years old.

Those are ceramic marrettes so they are made for high heat use.

Hmm... Bought a brand new receptacle but unfortunately the wires won't clip into the receptacle and stay in place. This means once assembled the coil pushes out the receptacle wires and won't turn on. It actually is a fire danger. So I'm taking the heating coil and receptacle back to the store and see if they can at least get it to seat right. If so then splicing into the old wires for me has been the easy part. It is a great video, hard to imagine anything could go wrong with a simple project like this... but it has.

Why did you cut the wire instead of just releasing them?? Is it likr an old model that doesnt provide that option?

I have a question....is it safe to extend the wires off to the sides.?i use a double burner griddle to make tortilla almost every day, and the heat of it is melting the terminal block inside the oven. i was going to move the whole terminal block off to the side. any suggestions?
@partselect
@partselect 6 жыл бұрын
Hello Sarah, splicing the wire harness to the terminal blocks is risky and you will also lose the integrity of the tabs for the terminal block mounting brackets.
@FatNebraskaMom

PartSelect yeah. I got the right wires and new terminal blocks. i am aldo going to drill new holes for the block screws. all thos for tortilla lol. ots not the first stovetop Ive done battle with over the same problem.

Thanks for your question. If your element is not heating, and you've already replaced the element and terminal block, you may want to try the Surface Burner Switch or Infinite Burner Switch. You can find more troubleshooting help for that symptom here: www.partselect.com/Repair/Range-Stove-Oven/Cooktop-Element-Not-Heating/ If that doesn't help, you can send us the model number of your range, and we may be able to help you further. Good luck with your repair, and don't hesitate to reach out if you're still having trouble!

I cleaned the coil probes, bought a new receptacle/terminal, and the coil is still not heating. What next? (Side note, I swapped the coils around on the stovetop and the coil does heat in a different terminal.)

this guy must have already known the terminal block was bad or you would need to test the burner with a meter or exchange the burner with another one you know is working on the stove to make sure the burner is good or bad, there are three items that can be bad, burner, terminal, or the switch

Music being played on top of an instruction video gets thumbs down from me and many others. Lecturers don't play music while they're teaaching. If it's important enough to teach then let us hear it. That's why we're here. Non USA videos don't feel the need to put music over the person speaking. Not sure what's going on in my country where music has to be everywhere.

Do not see anything because you did not zoom it. You do fast and that is the bad method to teach people. Do not get me wrong I knew how to it. But I mean your method of teaching people is so bad.
