Funny story: When this song came out in 93-94 I was 19 years old. The name of the song always eluded me on the radio (they never mentioned the artist or title) and when I sang it to people they had no idea what I song I was talking about. I was sure it was Nirvana so I listened to every Nirvana album trying to find it and never did. I gave up and eventually forgot about it. 10 years later around 2003 it came on the radio and that's when the DJ said "Stone Temple Pilots with Creep". I laughed in the car and then cried thinking about how 10 years earlier I was sitting in my parents house scrambling to find the song, and how time had seemingly passed so fast. Now I'm a grown man. Funny memories...

@@kloiebraelynn8875 Prince of Persia (2008) had two characters, the prince and the princess. They were arguing all along the game on whether art is good. Prince was a poor, philistine, uneducated thief, and the princess the opposite: educated and kept within the castle walls. It gets really interesting if you think about it, and the debate is less about art and more about spirituality. People who think humans are special and have souls love art. People who think of human brain as a totally physical machine don't respect art. These are the people who'll say AI generated art is also art, unlike their opponents, who say AI art is soulless. (My two unsolicited cents.)

This song takes me back to a time when the world seemed simpler, and the weight of life hadn't settled in so heavily. Each note is a poignant reminder of moments lost, of dreams that slipped through fingers like grains of sand. It's a melancholic symphony, an anthem for the broken-hearted souls who find solace in the haunting beauty of sorrow. I find myself drowning in the waves of nostalgia, clinging to the echoes of what once was, but can never be again.

@@joshshrum2764 Most grunge sounds alot like Southern rock mixed with alternative anyways to me. Although when I looked it up it says Punk, and alternative, lol, it goes better with bands like Sixty watt Shaman, Alabama Thunderpussy. Not any punk band that I've ever heard. The internet doesn't even define grunge very well. There's plenty of good stuff out there still. Although losing any great singer, and band sucks. Plus in the old days things were so reliant on channels like Mtv, and Vh1, nowadays you dont even need radio stations, just plug your cell phone into the car stereo, and listen to whatever you want.

My 12-yr. Old grandson introduced me to Nirvana. I lost my mind. 😂 Then I discovered Soundgarden and lost my mind again. Been overdosing on Alice in Chains for awhile now cause ......Layne! 🥰. Time to give STP a try. The Interstate Love song was the first one I heard and loved. I'm 61 . Better late than never? 🤷

Many singers of the 1990s had the gift of representing the pain of young people in an increasingly competitive and soulless society. They told teenagers that sometimes feeling bad is ok, that anger and pain were part of the human path. Unfortunately today, there are no such singers anymore, the money and this sick narcissism killed any creativity in music. This young generation, the selfie generation, is already doomed. I hope the next generation will be smarter and more rebellious.

Matt Moves Totally agree. There's always some asshole in these comments who talks about how rock music is doing "just fine", but man I couldn't disgaree more. Since the start of the 2010's it seems like there might be 3-4 albums the entire year I'll enjoy, and the last 2 years or so I'm lucky to find one new rock song I like every 3-4 months. I enjoy a wide array of rock styles, so bands like Tame Impala, Cage The Elephant, and Arctic monkeys, can go side by side with Mastodon and Queens of the stone age in my playlists. But I hate having to wait all year to only end up with 2-3 great rock albums. In the 90's you had entire ALBUMS worth of great material from everyone like Incubus, RHCP, Beck, Nirvana, STP, Green Day, Bush, Alice in Chains, Pantera, R.E.M, Weezer, Soundgarden, Rage against the machine, Oasis, Days of The New, Third Eye Blind, etc etc. These bands were releasing new music in the prime of their artistic abilities, side by side in the same calender year. The airwaves were full of songs by these bands, and other artists who had hits. There was never a dull moment, or lack of quality/diversity. There is definatly a stark contrast in the amount of quality rock being put out now, no doubt about it.

I was a rave dj from 95-2003. It was literally paradise on earth. People loved one another. Love was an actual thing people shared and felt between people. It wrapped you like a warm blanket.. Hate was not as prevalent in people's hearts. It was the closest we got to ending racism as we all tried to be better toward eachother. Music was amazing. People were attractive and unique and interesting. Conversation was real and people were MODEST. The idea of "influencer" was a disgusting idea and peoplelike that were seen as ego-maniacs and psychopaths.. You had to OWN knowlege as it was in YOUR MEMORY not in your POCKET.. Social media destroyed earth and we will see this after the third world war... Love your brothers and sisters as this dream is over before you realize it had begun...

This song takes me back to high school. My brothers got this album and stumbled onto this song. Reminds me of days when nothing mattered but enjoying our youth and hanging out with each other. August 5th, 2021 I lost my younger brother "Bio" and then 4 months and 4 days later on December 9th, 2021 I lost my older brother "shush". This song brings back all our memories. I want all those days back. Then we thought we had our whole lives ahead of us. Now it's just my younger sister and I. The memories I have of us will be forever cherished.

This song brings tears to my eyes, and reminds me of a deep, dark place I was in my life... at 28, still trying to get out of now. The chords are so brooding and melancholic... like listening to a cloudy day. I think this song is about addiction and how it transforms you into someone you don't want to look at in the mirror. It's sad that Scott was so extremely talented that he shared his gift with the world in the throes of his addiction, and ultimately lost his life to it. R.I.P. Scott

Needless to say the majority of the people went down for this group! At first I wasn't either! I was like who's this skinny guy with florescent orange hair! Then they opened up with dead and bloated, as soon as their set was done ! I immediately went to the merchandise stand and bought an STP shirt and the rest was history for me!

❤ Never forgotten, I'm 1980 so I'm a Gen X/Millennial. We were the next best thing from music 🎶, life before and during the internet, no cell phones to cell phones, 9/11 unfortunately, MTV and Unplugged, TV period before KZbin/Netflix/Hulu....Podcasts, we were movie watchers including great music, and got to experience movie rentals.. etc...which was amazing to me now. I graduated in 1999, last year until the 2000s and so much more!¡! ❤ We were the coolest 😎 🆒️ generation, so we will NEVER be forgotten. I feel bad to say but this new generation of our children seems to be the ones already being forgotten 💔 so, I would have to say it's them. I hope things change for the better and I'm sure they will, but you can never go back to how it was which was the best. People knew their neighbors, we socialized...etc... those were the best. Heck College Ball isn't even the same, it's crazy. I'm so grateful. 🙏🏼 ❤
