Just to flip it to the female perspective, those same men that accuse you of being gay for defending women, also accuse women who aren't interested in them of being lesbians because that's the only possible answer to not wanting that particular man on his terms.

That line of thinking (that you must be gay if you aren’t making these videos to conquer all the ladies) is something I’ve been calling the “your norm is not the default” fallacy. Because their norm is “I only act nice to women to get them to sleep with me” and they think it’s the default it’s so weird that some guy who is straight, like them, is just nice to women because he likes them as people. I've actually learned about the psychology behind this in my college classes- Men (statistically most, not exactly all) have a serious over-perception/misperception bias. A friendly smile from a woman is interpreted (inaccurately, of course) as "She's giving obvious signals she wants to sleep with me!"
@tally9542
@tally9542 Жыл бұрын
I actually think a lot of that comes from how we socialise men. Because boys and men are so rarely complimented for just... being themselves, especially from peers, they percieve any form of it as the highest form of it, becaude they have no way to gauge it. Its the same idea as when conservatives freak out over minority representation and say its being "shoved down their throat". Well than and they just don't like women and minorities.

I would like to learn more about this male psychology
@tally9542
@tally9542 Жыл бұрын
@@tfkdandsvkc It's not necessarily "male psychology" its, psychological averages that result from how we raise men, on average, in our society. The misperception bias is seen in a lot of young women too. It's why you see a lot of 40 something dudes with 20 something women. Because they've never been exposed to someone who treats them like they're a mature woman before, so the first dude that comes along that does it, they over react to. Creepy 40 somethings know this, it's why they go for young women.
@Snipergoat1
@Snipergoat1 Жыл бұрын
@@tally9542 No, it's far simpler than that. 40 year old dudes will go for 20 something chicks because they are hotter than 40 something chicks. Even if attractiveness is not the primary thing they are looking for it still ranks highly. Although let's discuss perception bias for a moment. When shown several pictures of different women and asked to rank them on a 1-10 scale the average was 6 with a nice smooth bell curve on both sides with both the unusually homely and attractive falling to the ends in small numbers. In other words exactly what you would expect from a collection of random people. When shown pictures of guys women evaluations centered at around 3.5 with tapering at the ends and then a bump on the end at the 8-9 category. In other words completely out of holding with the standard distribution of things. Lest you think maybe these just happened to contains a greater than average number of unattractive men, the pool was of 500 pictures each and each subject was asked to rate 100 of them chosen at random. This suggest that men have a much more rational ability to rate attractiveness and thus their assessments fell right into the distribution that most things fall into. Women on the other hand believed most men were below average in appearance with a small bump up when they personally found attractive. You don't really need to do much math to realize that most being below average has a statistical problem. So riddle me this. Who has the greater perception problem? There is a fairly easy answer to both your point and this one but I'm not going into it. Suffice it to say that it involves reproductive strategy and it pisses off some feminist types, not exactly sure why it doesn't degrade anyone, it just gives reasons for well known cogitative biases in potential sexual/romantic partners. Then again, I've given up on finding rationality from anyone who calls themselves a feminist today.

It's amazing how much our egos will drive us to do just to TRY to be seen the way we want others to view us, isn't it? Born into a patriarchal society, our toxic testosterone worshipping society, that our male ancestors created & then oppressed, abused, tortured & even killed millions of people to TRY to keep control of, the male children see the toxic masculinity & all of it's not so covert messages everywhere all their lives. We've been raised in a world steeped in commercialism so we are used to the huge amount of competition there is for every ressource we have. No other society has ever before had to deal with instant access to click and buy whatever we want, to shop 24/7 if we want to.Television's intrusion into family homes starting in the 1950's, led to vcr's, videotapes, dvd's, cd's, then cable tv & it's 548 channels of instant gratification, news, porn, violence, horror, brutal sports, reality tv shows that display people cpmpeting for ait time, prizes, attention, a rose, a car....something. All of it is pumped into our homes & so our brains even before we can speak a language we re soaked in it. Today's brain is being bombarded with infectious drivel, poisonous words, insane levels of greed, selfishness & commercialism. We're born into the mindset that we must compete for EVERYTHING.& it seems to be the main drive behind most things we humans do & think. Male children are indoctrinated by this world to believe they're stronger and so must be "better" somehow & it continues being reinforced all their lives by our crooked world.They're taught to believe they must compete with every other guy, for jobs, dates, SAT scores, college scholarships & are told through this world that they must WIN in order to be looked at with any respect by other people and to be valued by their families. So it's the other men's opinions of them that confirm to them whether they are succeeding or failing to do all they wish to do and be.Sadly, their own fathers are usually who they foirst turn to seekig this approval and when they don't get it there, it's tough for them to feel adequate or that they are a man.

I had two ex girlfriends, one who lied and cheated on me while she ironically, proclaimed herself a feminist. The other, who verbally abused me and slapped me once. Then, I find a group of men online who shared the same experiences I had. Listening to all the so called feminists blaming me for crimes I never committed. Then, I became rageful and bitter. Realizing the true reason why I endured the pain I did. Somedays, I had fantasies about murdering women, abusing them, making them suffer. I wanted vengeance. However, I never acted upon those fantasies nor wanted to do it cause I realized there is no justification behind it. I’m trying to be better now, getting rid of the anger that I carry inside me. Despite my hatred, part of me still wants to love women and build a family with them. There is no excuse for me being a misogynist, and I wish I never was but sometimes anger and trauma can lead you to dangerous places. As said before, I love women and I wish I would never go back to that stage again. That was just my personal experience so I hope that gave some perspective.

Yes, I wish more people would realize that the most disturbingly prejudiced people have had consistently bad experiences with certain types of people that made them that way, and it ends up coloring all future interactions with that group. I also see it often with these severe feminists who cross the line into overt sexism against men, and it’s always because they’ve had awful experiences. I think people need to remember that you will only be able to get to know a infinitesimal fraction of the humans on this earth, and it’s quite likely for you to end up with a skewed sample. .

Barrett always has great, insightful takes. He did another on how straight men don’t like women’s interests or things, because primarily, as you mentioned here, patriarchy teaches to view women as a means to an end, property at its most primitive and earliest association. Cue how men’s interests are highlighted and “cool” and women’s are “lame” and how men who partake in those interests have “woman” be used as a pejorative. Straight men who internalize the patriarchy are attracted to the appearance and performance of “woman”, but not woman herself

People are not objects so they require human respect to interact with properly, and women are people. I'm asexual so I feel that I don't really care for a "normal" relationship, and I'm also fine with platonic love. Self deception or just flat out lying is easy when it feeds your ego to do so. So by all means find you the most decent guy you possibly can. Just figure that this guy is not it nor will it be any guy that acts like this. Pretty much avoid any modern day male feminists or guys that unironically use the term toxic masculinity. A better option though is if you have any trusted male friends or relatives ask them to size up a potential guy you've met. Obviously they can make mistakes too but there are certain traits and tendencies that men can spot more readily than women can. Simply because we have spent more time around more guys in unguarded circumstances and have learned that certain types of people have certain tells that are revealed in minor things. This guys forthright seeming confidence while stating things that were completely incorrect and should be thing that a man in his 40's should have figured out long ago. We are not dogs, there are no alpha males. The concept of alpha males even as we understand it in wolves came from a flawed study of wolf that has several stressors on them meaning that their actions were a typical. Wolves in a more natural state with fewer constant stressors on them behave much more relaxed manner. Not that they don't take their choice of food or mates its that they are far more relaxed about it and less likely to punish minor transgressions from anyone including young males (i.e. potential future challengers.) In turn a dethroned alpha is not treated as harshly and often remains in the pack. Long digression but humans are quite different but even though they are often overstated we do share some properties with them (as do most social animals) The alpha /beta when applied to humans doesn't fit well and is most often used retroactively to justify some stupid thing or another. TLDR skip to the last paragraph. Nope, again you are over complicating the issue and placing your own biases. It's really much more simple. What you are talking about is slow and resource intensive with the failure rate leaving a guy being used by some chick who never cared for him beyond what he provided for her. Most guys have run into this kind of chick once or twice. One can either become embittered or change the rules. No that does not mean coercion. It means play the numbers and do not invest heavily in one. The basic idea is that if you ask 10 women "Do you want to fuck?" You will get slapped 9 times and laid once. That is an acceptable outcome. Well, if you are primarily concerned with getting laid that is. As for the acting the ways that will entice most women in the sack they will gladly be used, However it seems that many if not most guys have that one former girlfriend that just ripped them up and used them both emotionally and financially. No one wants to be that sucker again. So the guard goes up. He's only going to invest that in someone he thinks is a worthwhile prospect. Unfortunately it is very difficult to determine the "worth it" potential of someone. Complicating the fact is that neither young men or young women know exactly what they want or even what attracts them beyond a superficial level. And both receive a fuckton of bad information from everywhere that seems designed to keep trust between men and women low which helps neither, emotionally or physically. It exists mostly for various political reasons, not as in local or even national politics but in the more general sense of forming a power base. Grievance politics work, there does not even need any actual grievance. Just convince someone that they are aggrieved and viola, instant army to command (or bilk as the case may be). It takes advantage of that burned feeling that people get after a bad breakup and then tells them that it is not their fault, the fault was the other persons , then goes on with and it is a problem that is endemic to that entire gender. Of course this is amplified by the very real differences in genders. This can spiral out in outrageous exaggerations very easily. For God sake, you just said that men would prefer to bed a woman by force than by charm. What the fuck is wrong with you? What the fuck is wrong with me trying to break this all down to someone who thinks that is a reasonable statement? Might as well piss into the wind for all the good it will do. Well enjoy your cool aide, one day when you discover that it tastes of lonesomeness and cat pee then maybe you might want to question some foundational assumptions you are making to come to that conclusion.

I see your point but I disagree with you. Yes, men and women have historically been venus and mars. But the biggest shift I have noticed is how the Internet has made them drift even further apart. The small friend group girl chat suddenly turned global. It's like the fog just lifted from the eyes of a whole generation of women. We share notes, stories, advice etc. Everything we historically did in groups but on a massive scale. When women talk our primary focus is on avoiding "bad men". When we talk it's about improving ourselves, our Knowledge on mental health, toxic traits, relationship dynamics, standards, boundaries and expectations. Also, women are typically not driven by sex so we don't CRAVE men as sexual objects. We crave deep soul connections and meaningful lasting relationships. This creator advocates for women, healthy relationships etc etc and his main audience is women. A large proportion of his haters are men. Time and time again, I see the self help, relationship channels and the main consumers are women. If the speaker is a woman, the haters will say she is a man hating feminists who will die alone with cats. If he is a man he is a simp or gay or brainwashed. Again most of the hate is from men. So you go over to the relationship advice channels who are majority men consumers and there are similarities in men sharing horror stories about their experiences with women, but the biggest difference I notice is they focus on "rizz" or to artificially attract women based on money, muscle and lamborghinis. And in many cases it's not advocating for one woman, it's advocating for many women at one time. Most male channels are anti marriage, don't tell men what a healthy relationship looks like but will tell men what a non submissive, non sexual, non subservient woman looks like. They focus on rating women. Calling the women who display the same behaviour they are preaching to men all sorts of names. All this to say, the male focus seems very unhealthy and far more removed from reality and less likely to yeild success than the female focus. See men act like being burned by a woman means playing a numbers game, strategy, settling for the one that didn't slap you. Wasting YEARS of her life when deep down you know she ain't the one, but reaping the benefits of a woman. See when women get burned by a man, we teach ourselves what love bombing looks like, what the subtle signs of abuse look like, we actively, decrease likelihood of falling for it by going to therapy and working on ourselves, we try to find happiness outside of a man, we raise our standards, we hold men accountable to actions and not just words, we realise sex doesn't equate to them loving us so we stop having sex with them. We actively increase our emotional intelligence. If men stopped hating on other men who took the same approach as women and worked on themselves, more men would be successful. I promise you the average man is so emotionally constipated that they resort to treating women like objects cos that's their capacity. If I became a man tomorrow, there is no woman I couldn't get cos men seem to not understand what women are at their core, how they operate. You can't win over a group of people you don't understand one bit. I am sooooooo confident that having even basic emotional intelligence would get me almost any girl I wanted and not games or settling for the one that didn't slap me.
@Ell-te7ix
@Ell-te7ix 9 ай бұрын
The biggest irony is this man gets it. He could literally have his pick of women. This creator clearly shows he has done and continues to do the work and though we all know he is married and objectively I probably would never have noticed him in the street but hearing him speak like an emotionally intelligent man is so rare that it's high key extremely sexy. Like I'm a freaking demisexual and damn near asexual with 99.9999% of men I have ever met in my life but if this creator was single, he would literally have a queue of women lined up outside his house cos that's how freaking RARE it is. Even I would happily line up to be a pick me for this man.

So important to be said. And tbh some of the comments in here are just so sad. I remember trying to date in my 20's. I tried to forget most of it, but there were stalkers, gropers, men 20+ yrs older than me that got interested because I was petite and looked underage. It's disgusting. Nothing ever made it past a basic coffee date because people were so unhinged. I don't date now. Haven't since the last stalker followed me home, and I realized I was actively lowering my life expectancy by continuing. @@Tessa_Ru I actually do think that the dating apps have made a significant difference for the better, on net. It's a lot easier now to find someone with similar interests and values. My wife told me she had the best experience by just not having any kind of pictures on her profile, and then she contacted the men who she found interesting (like myself, lol). I say all that to just mention that not all men are as trashy and disrespectful as the slobs and losers that you unfortunately encountered in your dating life. Straight men are raised to love and admire other men and their masculinity, but are sexually attracted to us. That's why guys who come across a nice can only be seen as LGBT, or disingenuous. It's also why guys who are very boyish and engage in male-centred behaviour like being sporty and outdoorsy, but are never seen around multiple women, are also deemed LGBT by these guys. Toxic masculinity exists in such a rigid and oppressive mindset that we literally hear more about gay guys and gay behaviour, from supposedly straight guys, than from anyone else, including the LGBT community

A lot of times especially for young women, they will go for men's looks, popularity, and status even if they are jerks. A lot of genuinely kind men have trouble with women because of height, poor social skills or not being popular. Simply being kind to women is not enough to attract women. A lot of attractive and charismatic men who are not good people are able to sleep with many women. As much as we should be encouraging men to act better, we should also be teaching women esp young women to avoid these kinds of men.

And if men like you refuse to mold to their toxic and sexist way of thinking, it'll be harder for them to find lasting relationships if any relationships at all. Of course, I know there are straight men who are capable of respecting women and their boundaries. I'm friends with some of them. One of them used to have a crush on me & refrained from telling me because I was not in a good place in my life & a relationship could potentially endanger both of us. And he actually gets emasculated by his own family and his girlfriend's family for being gentle, polite, and respecting women's boundaries. They see decent srraight men as a THREAT.

@@myman8336 thats also toxic u should be able to vent. I hate how yall are brought up with toxic thinking. On the comment u said previously i do feel he did hate himself, saw it inferior n was taught it. Im happy he at a point he can love himself now. Thought how she felt was valid too cuz when with her he showed alot of unhealthy visions, its no exscuse for it. But 9/10 it came from him trying so hard to be what he wasnt, i know it best myself being an ex christian woman. I hope we all can grow in time n raise any future generations better and as people, not by the gender they should emmulate. Just people who are theirselves, people seem to be scared of true individuality.

Well yea. Why else would we talk to women if we didn’t want someone to poke, show off, or abuse?

As a teenage boy on KZbin no matter how many videos I dislike or accounts I tell KZbin to stop recommending me my shorts recommandions are still filled with misogynistic and transphobic and homophobic videos so thank you for being a guiding light in this ocean of hate

I'm an adult woman but my subscriptions include a lot of channels my son subbed to a few years ago. I get a lot of alt right and misogynist shorts too. Good for you on recognizing how they're trying to socially engineer your attitudes 💪

I heard something on a short vid wherein the person said "men are sexually attracted to women but emotionally attracted to men" for me that kind've sums up the agenda or perspective that modern men have towards women these days

I remember wondering as a teenager why more guys weren’t gay because they just didn’t seem to like girls as persons🫣. Then the gay revolution happened 😂.

Oddly enough gay men can be good friends with a woman because they aren't looking to get sex out of her. My darling friend Chris was one, (he sadly died last year far too young.) However there are gay men who hate women too.

Same lmao so many male friends MUCH prefer to be hanging out with other male friends. And they will, repeatedly, by choice do that, until a girl appears that's interested in them and offers sex. Then you don't see your friend ever again lmao Really does seem like a lot of guys desire sex but would choose hanging out with the boys 9.9 times out of 10 if offered a choice. It's bizarre as a gay leaning bi dude that I typically hang out with the gender I'm attacted to most, men, whereas straight guys ALSO do this. So do you even like women? It's kinda wild to think about

A heterosexual guy who genuinely enjoys women doesn't care if he's attractive, wealthy, tall, or short. He'll have all the ladies he needs. These aren't men, but I hope they recover from whatever trauma they had. Remember there are nice men out there; do not give up hope.

I remember reading years ago that a study was done on how men view women. It came out that a very high number view women as a collection of parts, not as a whole individual.

Idk if this is weird for me to say but I can't hold it in my brain anymore. You are a lot like my Dad but more empathetic and approachable. I kinda see you as what my dad could have been without the generational trauma. I love my dad. I wish he could be more open like you are. I think he could be happier if he was able to, if he could allow himself to.
