It’s so annoying to see people fight over rankings in Kep1er. GP999 is over. They are now a group and the members that play to certain strengths are going to be showcased more in certain parts. People act like this is so deep and it’s not. I do wish it was more of a fair shake but I’m not going to whine over ranking because they aren’t on the show anymore. Yurina does better as a soloist and I don’t think she’d mesh well in Kep1er. 🤷🏼‍♀️

For the Soojin situation: Soojin provided stage presence alongside Soyeon. Soyeon's stage presence sticks out a lot compared to the other members and Soojin was the only one who was somehow able to compete with it and provide some balance. Without her Soyeon is the only one carrying Idle's SP, making their stages look unbalanced. The other girls are very talented, but the energy between them and Soyeon is just too different.

I especially agree with the g idle and stan points. Look I love soojin and im disappointed with how the whole situation played out and no, g idle will not be the same without her. No group that loses a member is ever the same - but losing a member doesnt equal the group failing when the continue without them. Look at monsta x. Look at stray kids. G idle literally just had their comeback and they seem to be doing really good. I think people underestimate the remaining members. Saying a group wont be the same without a member isnt the same thing as calling them a flop after that member is gone. The stan one. I feel like based on the "criteria" for stanning, I dont really stan anyone. However for me, if I like the majority of the group's music and know a bit about the members, I'd call myself a stan. You are right completely correct about all of these. Some of these arguments are ridiculous. I do think that the amount of protection that companies give female idols differs for the company. Like JYP clearly favors his female idols, and not always in the best way, and he kind of dismisses his male talent when it comes to promotion and scandals. While I agree that there is misogyny in Kpop, especially when it comes to image and double standards, I don't think I agree with all of your given reasons. Female artists always chart higher in Korea and there has always been a larger distribution of girl groups in the year-end charts for Kpop, even when they're given less than their brother groups. While I think that sometimes the budget and comeback distribution is unfair, I think it's also due to the fact that companies know their girl groups will chart regardless of what they put out, but the boy groups might need extra help. Also, the female survival shows usually happen first because the Korean GP prefers girl groups and would be way more willing to check out the show then if it was a boy group, the producers are hoping that the GP will watch the first season for the girls and like it so much they stick around for the second season with the boys.

This is just... not how business works. Not funding a group because "they'll chart anyways" makes no damn sense. Companies that only care about making money would put most of their funds and resources into promoting and improving the quality of their money making groups, not the ones no one cares about or doesn't chart, (not to mention a seriously underfunded or mismanaged comeback even from a gg can still flop.) This is clear in the fact that when boy groups were the big money makers they still got all the money and support from their companies while ggs were underfunded. In Korea boy group have fandoms, real stan, people are invested with the boys and most of the fandom have teens girls and adult women, boy group have really small boys stan(exo in Korea actually did have boys and girls stan that's why they were labelled the favourite of knetz,before them it was bigbang) For girl group they have most of them casual fans,gg in Korea always struggled to have a loyal fandom, beside that their fans are a mix of girls and boys/women and men. I agree 99.9% about the kep1er line distribution complaints. I agree that people are going way to hard on it, but Hikaru is imo actually getting robbed because imo she is by far the best rapper in Kep1er but dayeon gets pretty much all the rap parts. This is an issue i am directly seeing where talent is undervalued there and where i think the line distribution is actually very misplaced. I am btw not saying here that dayeon is untalented at rapping, but rather saying that Hikaru has shown to have the possibilty of becoming a great rapper if given the chance. She applied for gp999 as a rapper, she is the only one in the group who has consistantly shown skills in rapping and are not being treated for that at all. Getting lines does not have all to do with singing but also rapper which is why rap posistions exists. Especially since kep1ers sound right now seems like it will be music where rapping is a norm from their first comeback.

FR like people have their own way of stanning a group. personally i stan groups not bcuz of their dance or visuals, im all about the discography. some examples for me are: seventeen, dreamcatcher, loona etc. people come for stans that don't know the names, ages, debut date etc. but idfc, to me it seems amazing when people stan a group in their own way bcuz i can see that they respect the group and are supporting them. Some kpop stans thinks knowing more kpop groups, idols, facts, songs makes them better than new kpop stans or non-kpop stans in general. But that just shows how disrespectful they are

idk but wakeone barely treat CY as a center. Regarding XT's many dance parts is logical, but her having more vocal parts than Mashiro, and BY kinda breaks that logic for me, because these two are definitely greater in singing than her. plus, applying the logic of some fans when a foreign member isn't fluent in Korean yet(such as Cheng Xiao or SHuhua) those two again is more fluent than XT. Also Hikaru is a great rapper, but they only gave her such short rap lines. Nevertheless, I just hope to see more of the other members in their comeback.

Regarding the vocal parts, sometimes it's also not because of which member has the better vocal ability but rather which vocal color would better fit the part. Of course, the member with better vocal abilities would get entrusted with more vocal parts than dance parts but it's not just vocal ability that gets into consideration when distributing parts and this goes not just for Kep1er but for most singing groups in general, and by that I don't mean only Kpop groups. Disclaimer: I'm not a singer/producer/music professional of any sort. My opinion stated above is from personal observation.

omg the sp thing is so true. I always hated the aespa sp debate only bc they have straight faces mostly. I am a My since january but never watched lives much because Ive never been one to watch many. Started watching many since debut this era and was wowed, they have quite a lot of SP especially Ningning in my eyes. They carry the concept perfectly, the sound is so robotic and futuristic and the lyrics have a more fight song vibe. So them cold expressions are perfect. The I don't give a fuck Black Mamba because we're stronger and will beat you vibe and the robotic AI vibe suits the song and concept like a glove. They're also really subtle with expressions, especially winter, the tiny smirks, the smiling through her singing lines, the powerful eyes that look like she's staring into your soul. In Savage at the Naevis we love you section thats cute and happy THEY ALL SMILE AND GIVE HAPPY VIBES, its not sp lacking its the vibe needed. Also Giselle in Black Mamba MCountdown stage did a facial change from a smile and bright eyes to dark eyes and a blank face in one of her lines so amazingly, showing how subtle things make an impact. Also debut Giselle smiled a lot tbh and the concept was more fresh so it matched, smiles dont matchSavage. Im a vibe SP kind, I likew it when an idol embodies the vibe of the song and can transmit to me the exact feeling the song gives off. Thats why I love Jihan in Afterschool, perfect cutesy school crush vibes from her. If u want facials, stan Billlie or other groups but Im sticking to vibes and watchability and I cannot keep my eyes off Aespa on stage

Now I've always been scared to say this but I think gidle looks better without sojin, now i don't want ppl do get me wrong i love sojin she was my bias wrecker and i don't believe the accusations in the slightest, i still love her and will support her if she comes back, but that doesn't change my opinion, to me it felt like sojin ant the same time stood out and was overshadowed by the other members, idk how to explain it , but she gives me this soloist vibe and her visual ( she is amazingly pretty) didn't really fit with the other members visuals, I don't I know idle since before the sojin controversy but even then whenever I would see idle photos or see them in shows she always felt like she didn't belong there, to me she gives me this soloist vibe, and felt out of place in a group. Please don't get mad at me its just my opinion

Uhm…punk pop overdone??? Why would people say that😭. Like you said, We had TXT and (G)I-dle. Idk that one song you mentioned I couldn’t understand. I would have never in my life considered rock with you punk pop? Idk maybe we’re thinking differently in terms of what’s punk pop. That’s why I always enjoyed (G)I-dle (not pop or punk but even their dark concepts just fit everything to me like actually dark not just dark outfits, a dark video and being sexy), TXT (I love how they incorporated the punk/emo concept with their concept. Their punk releases are so good) and bands like Xdinary heroes (where’s the comeback?) and dreamcatcher. I consider myself a stan of a group if I buy their albums AND watch their content. Out of all of my albums I have the most bts albums, I also have some super junior (just one actually) and 6 Blackpink albums but i don’t consider myself a stan because I don’t watch their content anymore or that much, whereas I consider myself an exo stan because i buy merch and also watch their content. Or at least follow them on social media 😂. I only have one p1harmony album (technically two its both versions) but I engage in their content a lot. For me buying merch is what is the common denominator to decide if I Stan or not. Of course their are groups I like, like Aespa, purple kiss, Tri.be, snsd, mcnd, the Boyz (i have Taeyeon albums but) but with those groups I either don’t know the members (purple kiss (and I hats to say that because I just haven’t took the time to learn them but I LOVE their music.), tri.be) or i don’t watch a lot of content (the other groups I’ve at least watched a stage or one interview but I have never in my life watched snsd content. I love their music but I’ve never seen a stage, a mv, an interview, nothing), so I wouldn’t say i stan and i wouldn’t buy their albums since besides purple kiss and snsd (i cant find their albums though I’ve looked) I either don’t like the bsides or I only know one song on the album.

People talk so much about stage presence and all. But the reason the idol is chosen out of thousands and thousands of people is mainly because of the way they look on camera, their charm and ofcourse their stage presence. If you just go and look at how trainees get selected or what their routine is usually like, you'll see how many tests they have just for stage presence. And the criteria always differs. One person might be good at one thing, the other person at another. So saying someone lacks stage presence is the worst shit I've ever heard. And you're right about this, thank you for bringing it up. People call Jennie a lazy dancer, Lia a lazy dancer, Irene for no stage presence. Like shut up, already.

But they're all performers. You need to at least have good or pretty decent stage presence. If you can't keep anyone's attention, then you're not ready to be on a stage because that's your job as an idol (aka performer).

For the soojin one I disagree. In my opinion, soyeon is the best in stage presence and the second closest to her was soojin. With her gone now the group is unbalanced (as a team/group) and soyeon sticks out a lot more than she should (at least that’s how I see it)

Just because soojin has talent that idle already has in other members that doesn't make her 'non-essential'. She contributed to the group too. Idle was meant to be a six member group. She has an image which you can see rarely in k pop. I highly disagree with that opinion because i think that no idol would be 'non-essential' just because they have the talent which already other members have. Soojin is very important too. Her image, her aura everything is very different. And the concept of idle is about six different people together. So in conclusion, i think soojin is essential. Not like without her idle is flop, but soojin has an important role in idle. That's all i mean. So i won't say that her not being essential is a fact. Because it's not. It's better to have more than one vocalists, It's better to have more than one dancer Better to have more than one visual. So you can't call that a fact.

I agree that there’s alot of misogyny is kpop but I disagree with some of your points as to why companies favour BGs more than GGs. I think the reason why they spend more money on bg is because typically bg sell more that gg. While gg chart more, they don’t sell more than bg. Alot of bg that are midrange like The Boyz sell alot more than highflying gg likr Itzy.. companies are businesses so it makes sense that they invest more into their biggest money makers. Its an unfortunate truth that gg stans just don’t spend as much as bg stans. And i think it’s because gg just don’t interact with their fans as much as bg do. Bg are always doing lives, there is always more content on them to keep funs glued and gg just don’t. So while misogyny is a thing, I don’t think its the biggest variable here.

The girls were impacted by soojin getting out. But of course you can't live in past we have to move on. I agree that stans shouldn't always bring up soojin and Idle will be fine now and successful. (I'm not saying idle will flop without soojin like look at the success they got from tomboy)
