Reminder: Gaetz was one of the few members of Congress to openly and very publicly reject donations from special interests. When he first joined congress, he "got along to get along" just like everyone else so they would assume he would be willing to "play ball", and used that in order to gain favorable placements on several Congressional committees. Once he was on all the committees that he cared to be on, he then threw off the mask and essentially declared war on the swamp of special interests, lobbying, and other undue influences and fought CONSTANTLY to try and force the rest of Congress to be rid of these influences especially from Wall Street types. The swamp creatures saw him as a traitor, and since then he has been a target of them. Reminder: Local, State, and Federal investigators combed through every aspect of his life after these allegations were initially made against him years ago, and according to those investigators at all levels he cooperated fully. Prosecutors who at the start of the investigation made it clear they would be pursuing any and all criminal charges they could against Gaetz, ended up not charging him with any crime at all. Why? Because the evidence cleared him of any alleged criminal acts. It was AFTER the criminal investigations had been concluded and no charges filed, that the Congressional committee decided to conduct its own (non-judicial) investigation, clearly motivated by politics and not justice, which is why Gaetz refused to cooperate with it in order to reject any claim it could have to being legitimate. Reminder: The Gaetz report was unlawfully leaked to the public by a Democrat member of Congress, and outspoken opponent of Gaetz, who had lost her re-election bid. That is in itself an actual violation of law. So to be clear, Gaetz was cleared of any and all accusations of criminal wrongdoing by local, state, and federal investigators and prosecutors, while the outgoing Democrat congresswoman actually did commit a crime in order to cause political and potentially actual harm to a member of the political opposition. Reminder: Trump has stated his intention to release ALL of the currently classified Epstein files. Current leaked information from those files implicates several current and former members of Congress to criminal acts which are far more serious than what Gaetz has been accused of. Yet we have no mention of a House Ethics Committee investigation or Senate Ethics Committee investigation, much less leaks and releases to the public. I wonder why?
@Moonchilling18 күн бұрын
He was re-elected to congress if I were him, I’d go back and open the files on EVERYONE
@bobmister25018 күн бұрын
A couple inaccuracies in this comment. First: "at all levels he cooperated fully". He did not. The report released by Congress stated that he did not. In fact the report states that he attempted to obstruct the investigation which may in itself be a crime. "The Gaetz report was unlawfully leaked to the public by a Democrat member of Congress" First, I assume you mean "Democratic Member of Congress". More to the point, it wasn't leaked. The Ethics Committee voted to release it. Democrats and Republicans are always 50/50 on that committee so here must have been AT LEAST one Republican who voted to release the report. "Gaetz was cleared of any and all accusations of criminal wrongdoing by local, state, and federal investigators and prosecutors" He was not "cleared" of anything. He wasn't charged. There's a big difference here. His best friend Joel Greenberg is in prison for more than 10 years and they were joined at the hip. "Trump has stated his intention to release ALL of the currently classified Epstein files." If you believe any of the lies that come out of Trump's mouth you should go back to school. I can suggest Trump University if you're looking to get scammed out of your money.

@@bobmister250 Weird how you feel the need to lie. 1) Your entire first paragraph is a falsehood and you know it. You are very aware that I stated the truth by stating he cooperated fully with the investigation, because you are aware that statement was made in relation to the criminal investigations. Why would you choose to ignore that and instead try to conflate it with the unrelated Congressional "investigation"? He did cooperate fully with the actual investigation, that is not up for dispute. 2) Way to take the mask off, literally no one but the most odd of partisans have ever been offended when Democrats are referred to as a Democrat and not as "Democratic". And yes, it was leaked prior to it being officially released. From The Hill on 12/9/24 - "Rep. Susan Wild (Pa.), the top Democrat on the House Ethics Committee, was absent from the panel’s meeting last week after being traced as the source of leaks to the press regarding the investigation into former Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.), sources told The Hill." Get your facts straight before commenting. 3) Yes, he was cleared. First off, in THIS nation we are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Secondly, the federal prosecutors made it clear that they would charge Gaetz if they found ANY evidence of ANY criminality, and them NOT charging is itself evidence that they were unable to find credible evidence to sustain any accusation of criminality. You, as an obvious partisan, don't have to like it, but the fact is that the criminal justice process cleared him of accusations of criminal wrongdoing. Lastly, guilt by association is not a judicial philosophy we follow in this country, and conspiracy theories are not themselves evidence of anything. 4) Take your meds, your TDS is showing.

Baldwin may not have intended to murder that woman, but it is clear he did. There needs to be accountability for such poor performances by DA officers (seems to usually be for those that are famous and rich). It should literally affect their law licenses - they drop the ball on purpose half the time and we the people know it. I hope her family sues the hell out of him in civil court.

The disgrace is that prostitution is not legal. As for the underage girl she did not disclose her age, per her admission. Hiring a prostitute is not sex trafficking, which would be what a pimp does. As for drugs how many of us here can say we have never indulged. I cannot make that claim. That being said it is the current law, he should have known better, and displayed an extreme lack of judgement which absolutely should disqualify him from office.
