I spent 15 years restoring a 1951 Pontiac Chieftain.... People have no idea how much time it takes to perform every operation of a restoration... That's why they call it a labor or love. =) Great job King!

Seeing you walk on that fender reminds me of an old feller that worked as a body man at the local Pontiac dealership in my hometown. He used his feet as much or more than he did any tool to work out dents and get the shape he wanted. Thanks for that memory jog!
@805ROADKING4 жыл бұрын
That's funny!! That metal was so thick and shaped, I don't think walking on it helped at all!!☺
@nashguy2074 жыл бұрын
Thanks for letting us hang out with you. That was a thick piece of fiberglass on the bottom of that fender. I always learn something watching your videos. Just by watching you work. I bet back in the day you were one of the top body guys in your area. Have a good one buddy.

I liked the ceiling lights making the dent real visible. That's one body tool I don't have, a slapping spoon. (I think it's called). Body work takes patience and your the man with time to make it right.

Today ( and again ) I learned another thing here, I never knew how to get that 'oil can' effect out of sheet metal , now I think I can do it. That's going to be a nice looking truck, I know I've said this before, but as I watch the repairing proceed I keep thinking of what it's going to look like when it's done.

@@805ROADKING It's a 79. Sweet little car. It is waiting on a few things to take place, starting with a garage or shop. Edit: ever notice the Italian cars from that era all rusted away but the British cars can still be found? The Italian ones got driven a lot while the British cars were always in the shop!

Fun thing about the word "Slapper" is it's british slang, it refers to a type of woman who, shall we say, is a bit "easy"... :P
