I use to have a neighbor behind my house and she had a two story house. Well she called me one day swearing that there were people with guns crawling on my roof. She said every time she 👀 out her windows they would all drop down and belly crawl to hide from her. It didn’t matter how many times I told her nobody was on my roof. She made me start doubting myself even though I new better lol I had to walk outside with her on the phone and tell her to lay off whatever it was she was doing because nobody was on my roof. She ended up telling me later that she had been smoking crystal meth. That is pure poison I’ll never understand why people like that stuff. Now anytime I hear a story where they are calling people and not making sense and seeing people after them oh and they keep hanging up and calling back my mind goes straight to this. Before my experience with her I would think it was some huge mystery. Now I don’t and I feel so sorry for their families.

I had an upstairs neighbor who was having domestic issues with her boyfriend, or "baby daddy" as they call it now. She slipped a note under my door in a childish scrawl, but what I could make out was that she wanted me to keep an eye on her boyfriend, because she was counting the miles on their car, and they were more than where he said he was going. I had just moved in! I didn't want any part of this nonsense. I did notify the land lady. On one occasion she knocked on my door and said she thinks "Danny" was in the basement of the building. He wasn't. Another time I came home from work, the police were outside talking to the woman, and when I asked her what was going on, she said "Danny has been in the house." The cop gave me a funny look, and I heard him say, "How well do you know your neighbors?" Well, this paranoia went on for some time, until she moved out.

@@meeganyoung8058 The day she kicked her boyfriend out, she was literally throwing his furniture out the 2nd story window. One time there was a tornado warning, and she went around knocking on everybody's doors to tell them they had to hole up in the basement, with her and her extended family, which included a mentally disabled 16 year old girl. Well, in the basement (and it was quite the storm for 1/2 hour), she said she had to go to the bathroom. What do they do? They gave her a bucket, and she peed in it right then and there. I later told my girlfriend, and she said she would rather have died in her own apartment than shelter with these nuts.

People on meth are sometimes extremely paranoid and any small thing makes them think someone is 'after' them. You can't reason with them when they're like that. It's too bad Brandon didn't go toward his brother when he saw him.

What always bugged me about this case is his family saying they had begged to police to obtain search warrants to search the area on the property next to the rode share his truck was stopped. The land owner had refused to allow anyone on his land after the first days. Then to hear the bones were there for all these years later , makes you ponder if he hadn’t been just a few feet from where they were allowed to search.

And landowners don’t want to be responsible if someone got hurt on their property. Owners can be sued even if those injured in a fall are trespassing. I wouldn’t want to risk losing everything either. Not a lawyer myself but I’m not sure that getting signatures on a hold harmless document would be enough protection. Doubtful anyone would even sign it. What if someone fell down an unknown abandoned well?

Searchers sign documents before they search that it’s at their own risk. I do understand landowners not wanting a search , they could have stipulated law enforcement only search , that way if someone falls in a well it’s covered. Those of us who watch a large volume of true crime are probably familiar with this trope - young male driving alone at night stops his vehicle in a weird place, makes some semi-coherent phone calls, and disappears. A history of substance use/misuse is often involved. I don't have any grand pronouncements about this, just noting there's about enough of this type of incident that it sounds like a pattern.

It was confirmed to be Brandon long ago. As of like six months ago, the family had not been informed of the CoD. It was continuing to be investigated, which is...odd. The remains were located on private property. From the explanation, it appears that it was owned by a foreign individual or a corporate entity. In either case, permission could not attained to search the property, and there was not reason to specifically believe that he was on the property for the purposes of obtaining a warrant. Once ownership was determined and permission was received, it was searched. It had never been previously searched, nor had that claim been made.

I am going to presume Brandon was under the influence of methampetamine and probably suffered from a lack of sleep. This is a very dangerous combination. I am all to aware of the problems that come with abusing meth. Users will stay awake for extended periods of time while being wired. They become hostile, paranoid and delusional which sounds exactly like what Brandon was suffering from. Another problem with meth is users sweat profusely and become extremely dehydrated because they don't drink any water. Dehydration can also cause psychotic behavior, but I am wondering if Brandon could have died from dehydration. Just a thought. Meth was such a bad problem here in the California desert back in the 1980s and early 1990s. I watched it take down a lot of people I grew up with. People lost homes, jobs, marriages, and some lost their lives. I realize this story took place much later and in another state. Still makes me sad.

I remember this case. I do believe foul play was involved. In the 911 call, he said he was being chased and that he was injured; he was bleeding if I remember correctly. I think he also said someone was trying to shoot him. I realize that meth (or the lack of sleep from using meth) causes hallucinations however, he was not using immediately prior to this. There are other factors that are suspicious such as his wife's behavior and misconduct within the police department.

@@feelthejoy He is licensed. I believe the only real discrepancy has been that he doesn't have his doctorate. A competing KZbin channel has even made a video about it, because he believes the "Dr." part is misleading. Personally, I feel that I have seen enough to know that Dr. Grande absolutely knows what he's talking about. He is not diagnosing or claiming to diagnose, and his takes seem to be far more open-minded and well-rounded than many other people who actually charge money for this sort of compacted knowledge. There are an abundance of other KZbinrs out there who teach their subject of choice without having all, or sometimes any, of the college credentials. The guy who made the video (the one that I've seen) is a good doctor. I believe his background is in Criminal Psychology (and POSSIBLY Sociology... although, I can't recall). I'm not sure if anything ever happened between these two- but, lucky for us, we don't have to choose sides. Bottom line is: Use discernment. Fact-check whenever you find yourself in a state of disbelief. (general form of "you") Read the "About" section of the page, and any therapist, scientist, medical professional, etc., will typically list their credentials. 🙂

Just seen my brother on meth again the other day, took him about 3 hrs to attach a couple tow straps together... Then when he finally fell asleep after a few days, he woke up yelling and making odd noises as if he were in a dillusional state. We finally carefully fully woke him. That drug is one bad thing. Meth and alcohol seem to mess ppl up more than anything else, from what I've seen. I wonder how much of it is the drug itself compared to the lack of sleep it creates? The combination sure can be scary.

Very sad case! Sadly, I think any time someone messes with drugs like meth, they're dooming their chance for any kind of promising future. Really loved your caring, insightful take on this case, Dr. Grande! Like how you noted that this poor guy worked 60 hours a week and had four children he was probably trying to take care of.

I am a little confused about the facts of this case? About what really happened to Brandon Lawson. If the case occurred as you described it certainly is very sad given he was on the straight and narrow once again, a tough road cause to find yourself on again!!! So many variables that you cannot remember! Hope he was able to work it out at the end and save himself again!!!!!!!!

He’s dead, he got back on the dope, tweaked out, and probably died of exposure. Lots of people relapse, he had just started a new job with long hours and wanted to stay up.

I wonder if this might not be a case of coincidence. It seems clear he was using some sort of mind altering substance, but perhaps he had a traffic or other altercation with one or more people who began chasing him, and when he ran out of gas he fled from the vehicle to escape, leading to the unfortunate chain of events.

5:45 🤔 so,Brandon has called 911 asking for the Police..now,the Police are here at the scene! However, instead of coming out from his hiding spot in the brush,to get help, from the Police, that he summoned..😏 he tells Kyle to run away from the Police!! Either Brandon really was totally completely off his head on drugs,or there was something about "This Policeman" that Brandon was afraid of..🤨 and as likely it was to be the former,I have some questions still. Was this Cop responding to Brandon's call for help,or this truck driver guy's call,or what's the chances this Cop was just in the area, and happened by??

Factory stimulants over a long time, create hallucinations. This was everywhere on this case. Style inflicted hallucinations. Poor judgements everywhere. Therefore self inflicted death.

What the hell is a 'factory stimulant'? Do you mean 'synthetic'? Stimulants decrease the need for sleep but that's the product of irresponsible re-dosing, not a common side effect. Also, cocaine is a naturally occurring psychoactive substance that can cause 'stimulant psychosis'. Do you always talk out of your ass or just on YT?

3/23/23 Another case of not sharing information, between le and 911 calls. So many tragedies have happened, due to this huge problem! Brandon sounds like he was paranoid, using drugs. Imo, wouldn’t of been calling so many people as well as 911 if he really was being chased. Love ❤️ to his Family and Friends!

When people relapse sometimes they try to go back to the amount they last used. Because their bodies are cleaner it’s too much. I’ve noticed ods happen when they try to take the larger amounts.
