So One is the OG born with powers. El’s mom and several of the people involved in the experiments showed signs of psychic abilities. The purpose of the experiments was to replicate One’s abilities and then some to the newborns. Eleven surpassed it by being able to open portals to the upside down that One was never able to do.

She was not repeating what you said, her statement contradicts what you said and she was correct. 001 is seemingly the only one who was naturally born with powers (Patient 0). Terry Ives and the other moms were not born with powers, they acquired them through the experimentation that Brenner did and then they were passed to the other children by their mothers and their father, who was likely 001.

Also, considering age, he was no older than El when he was taken to the Lab,or a little later, and was already able to do what many of them couldn’t, only El. So the amount of power between them should’ve been equal based on age. I’m sure One was heavily experimented on upon his discovery and wasn’t made to wear have that chip to suppress his powers until later.

i'll never understand why people don't like robin, hearing people say that "she's annoying" and they always try and compare her and nancy, im like why cant they both be bad a$$. robin is one of my favorite characters now. and the friendship she has with steve is great! she's very sarcastic but she's also supportive of everyone including steve. i also believe steve definitely needed a friend like robin in high school. she's the real one!

@@4zn4ngelz She also was probably pretending to be that way so she could be friends with Steve and then Dustin she put on a facade to seem "cool" even though her regular self in this season is cool, once you become friends with someone then know them for a few years you see their true selves. You can even see changes in people you become friends with like within a year. Also there's theories out on the internet that she might have ADHD, which if you view it that way it so much more sense. And if someone still tries to say she was different, what if in season 3 she was on medication for it but now that she seen some shit go down with the upsidedown she wants to be at least more aware so she stopped taking them.

If you re-watch it's said, the kids are born with powers. The mothers have some form of powers to start with, Brenner takes the children from their mothers & then uses experiments to strengthen whatever powers the kids are born with.

The experiments in the show are meant to parallel the real-life MK Ultra experiments that happened in the 50s and 60s. Terry Ives didn't have powers to begin with, she acquired powers through the different experiments conducted on her by Brenner and they were passed to Eleven through Terry and her father, who I imagine was 001.

I could be wrong but I think Kali was kidnapped? So maybe it implies that she was also born like one with no outside influence.

I think there's a strong possibility that some, or even most of the mothers were artificially inseminated with 001's sperm, possibly in addition to the drugs and other experiments. If Brenner wanted to recreate him, why not use the most obvious way? I also think that people with powers like this had existed throughout history in this world, but 99% of them never had the opportunity or the mindset to learn to use them. 001 just happened to have both. I think his own mother probably had a weaker version of them too, and that's how she knew it was him causing the nightmares.

I keep going over this and I keep getting stuck on how they would guarantee that these kids would be born with powers. I think there’s a good possibility that they used One’s DNA to create 11 and the rest of them. Like the doctors could have impregnated the women with him to give them abilities which would make One El’s dad. I can’t imagine that they got that lucky having found so many special kids around the same ages at one unless they made sure it happened.

Side note: 34:28 - The gate that Eleven opened through 001 wasn’t the gate that let the Upside Down come into the real world. That was just the first gate that was ever opened. She opened the main gate in Season 1 when she was in her mind and then she saw the Demogorgon and touched it which allowed the main gate to open which was in the lab.

LOL when this episode aired I feel like a lot of people were able to make some connections between Henry, 001, and Vecna but I didn't see people connect all of them that often. There were some people who did but I know for me I figured that Henry was 001 as soon as I heard that Henry went into a coma. I thought Vecna was legit some sort of demon or something. I am wondering how Henry got his powers though since whenever he uses them there's this eldritch sound like ancient powers. I also saw an interesting but unsettling theory that 001 is 11's dad since he'd be about 24 when she was born and her mother was involved with some weird "hippy" program like her El's aunt said. It could make sense why her powers are so strong, maybe the lab got tired of trying to create a Henry. But then again there were 18 kids confirmed so 7 more after 11.

I love that Vecna/001's motivations stem from him basically being a born 'psychopath' who's never cared about people/his own family and has no remorse for even the kids who had powers like him. His family moved to Hawkins for a 'fresh start' likely because Henry was showing traits of antisocial disorder. But he displays the makings of a serial killer in the flashbacks when he kills animals, and he only likes spiders bc he relates to the feeling of superiority over his own kind, just like them. He's a good foil to Eleven who's trying to fit in with regular society after having been raised in isolation and grown to think that she's a bad person bc of her powers.

the great thing about this episode is that at some point many people realised either one or two twists (like who is One, who is Vecna or who is Viktor) and very little amount of people figured out all 3 twists, so it was mind-blowing and extremely well executed. when the first volume of this season came out I watched it in my room at 3 am as soon as it came out and binge watched the whole thing until about 7-8 in the morning when I was done. then I did the same thing for the second volume when that came out. I truly had to wait a full MONTH when this shit came out. there wasn’t a second in a day I wasn’t thinking about this show. it’s truly phenomenal. I was sobbing and screaming and pacing around my room ESPECIALLY at the last 2 episodes. when I saw episode 7 the way I screamed “the duffer brothers are fucking geniuses” at the top of my lungs. Ya need to back up off of Erica! She is a child and stood up in the town hall by herself and called BS on what Jason was saying about The Hellfire Club. I would have said the same about the couch is on fire. She has a different perspective. Up until that point she wasn't running with the gang, she was with the parents, left out of all the action. And she didn't say anything revealing. She is a very courageous young girl who is crazy smart and super sassy! And she is the baby of the group. Protect a sister, dang! Next, I think Papa survived because Vecna wanted him to survive. Think on that one a min..... Whatever Papa extracted from 001 & then put into El's Mom, remember she was pregnant with El at the time. That may be why El is so strong..... I think this demigorgon was so savage is cuz he has been in captivity. Starved, tortured, experiment on, also they have a hive mind, which we know from last season (hospital scenes), he is probably stronger cuz Vecna is stronger. Okay I gotta say, I could see the wheels turning in Myles' brain when he realized who Venca did the killing at Hawkins Labs. No one ever thinks about the way they were killed. I absolutely LOVE how this series and especially this season manages to create comedy and funny moments among all the darkness. The main genres are thriller mystery sci-fi and horror among others but still Stranger Things gave me many good laughs especially at the beginning/middle of season 4. Mostly because of Argil, Gathen and Murray but others as well.

I Loved how everything comes full circle in this episode. I Loved the backstory of Henry/Vecna/One and that this child was pure evil and killed his family like a regular 6 year old Michael Meyers, his childhoods similar to his. Then He got sent to the Lab and Dr. Brenner said One was dangerous and Eleven had to relive her traumatic past memories in order to get her powers back and she trusts this man that uses her and it turns out its him and so she can feel relieved that she didn't kill all her brothers and sisters excluding 8 because she felt guilty for that ever since she remembered bits and pieces of that dark memory in her subconscious. She was younger when that all happened. I Loved how they pieced it all together scene by scene with Nancy seeing Henrys childhood while 1 was manipulating Eleven to take his tracker out to set him free and finding out that he's evil and she needs to kill him for murdering all the children. And thats how the gate opened and he burned up and everything. It was just so well thought of. Each story point connected to the next and brought all the Seasons together cause obviously 1 was controlling those things from the Upside Down the Demigorgon, the mind flayer. It all makes sense now. I Loved how everything tied together. The Duffer Brothers are pure Geniuses!!!!

I knew it was the son when we first saw the family because they showed everyone except for him. But I didn't realise that One was Vecna until the exact point that Miles realised it. The whole build up to the realisation of all three being the same person/creature was absolutely brilliant storytelling!

I mean, technically, they probably are copies, in a way. You need two sets of DNA to make a child. We know who her mother is, we don't know who her father is. In order to maximize the childrens' power capacity, it makes sense that they used 001's DNA.

Gotta remember 001 had the chip in him. When he fought 11 the first time he was still weaken. He hadn’t restored his full powers yet. That’s how she was able to “defeat” him at her young age.

W regards to how El got her powers - if you remember in S1 we found out that her mother was part of MKULTRA type experiments where she took psychoactive drugs in sens deprivation tanks whilst she was unknowingly pregnant. IRL there have been psuedo-science studies that theorise the power of electromagnetic signals extending beyond the human brain as a result of the Ketchum and MKULTRA experiments, back in the 60s and 70s there was a big fascination with telekinesis and telepathy. Regarding 01/Henry/Vecna's powers, I think we're supposed to suspend some form of disbelief and assume he just is special and happens to have them, and believe that in this canonical universe that's perfectly possible for people to just happen to be born with powers.

Steve is literally the more interesting character and has the better relationships on the show. Steve is literally a top 5 character and he’s in my top 2, he’s behind Hopper for me. As much as I like Jonathan, you can’t say Jonathan is a top 5 character. That’s just facts 💯
