This is what I call perfectly provided recipe!!! All ingredients in grams or milligrams (where applicable), no stupid cups and spoons unless it is absolutely inevitable and only necessary steps shown on the video. Soooooooo well done! Thank you Michael for sharing!
@SlavicCooking_CreativePrinting4 жыл бұрын
Except for the use of the word "stupid", I agree with you. Using weights (ounce (imperial) or metric) is the best way to share a recipe. It takes away the error of "how did YOU measure a cup of flour", "what do YOU consider to be a cup of packed brown sugar?", etc. It also removes humidity and temperature from the equation.
@VanClaaude4 жыл бұрын
@@SlavicCooking_CreativePrinting I was raised with imperial system - I hated everything about it, like fractions of inches, Ounces and pounds, miles and yards, shillings and pennies - it seemed to me that there was no logic in counting those little increments on a measuring tape (that is another stupidity, I wonder who invented that term: TAPE MEASURE!) and all of the sudden a new system was introduced - metric! And my life had changed for ever, everything became clear and obvious!

I thought that same thing too. Must be a culinary school thing. Mom left a small footprint like this when she prepped, cooked, and afterward when she was putting everything together. I'm a bit sad that I didn't push to learn more while she was able to still teach. I steered clear of baking dishes that required the use of yeast. As for cakes, I excelled in caking baking and decorating with parchment bags, but for the most part, I bought non-ziplock type bags & just cut the corner out, dropped in a decorating tip, & used that rather than ordering speciality bags that weren't carried locally. It has been less than a year since I first started to seriously use bread flour and all-purpose flour in recipes that require the use of yeast. I'm getting better with each batch of breads & rolls I make; hwr, I can't help but feel bad that I didn't take advantage of Mom's expertise. Great Job Michael. My mom passed away 15yrs ago this past March.
