Ren took this version of the song to visit Joe's parents and played it to them, they had a wonderful reunion and I think Ren and Joe's parents were able to gain a little bit of peace from that day. Ren used some the money raised from the song to buy Joe's parents a "Campervan" (American mini motorhome) so that they could realise their dream of touring the UK. Ren then donated the rest of the money to the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution) who are a volunteer organisation that take life boats (they work in conjunction with the coastguard and air sea rescue) out to sea in all weathers, to rescue sailors in difficulty, the Lifeboats were out in force the night Joe died but despite their efforts were unable to locate Joe, Ren is forever grateful for their efforts. The final part of the song is from Rens Album Freckled Angel and is from a song specifically dedicated to Joe on that album... this song takes in tracks from the beginnings of his music the middle and up to the present day, and that he can blend all 3 eras together into a singular masterpiece is a credit to his ability to create timeless music.

He actually heard from his friend that was on the phone with Joe and he got out of bed started running there. He said it was a five minute run and he got a busy signal til a little over half way then he got a phones no longer in service or call can’t be completed as dialed. message. He did say Joe mentioned it to him over break, but Joe was the jokester of the group and he said in what Ryan thought was kind of a joking way, so he said it was a little strange, but he didn’t really think anything of it. Hindsight is 2020 and after the fact, you start thinking what you could’ve done differently and any signs that you missed but let me tell you I’ve been there a couple times losing proposition. Someone makes up their mind ain’t shit. You can do Staten Island. They had footage of my cousin just walking into the ocean going going going going going until she disappeared. Even went for help. Got released and there she went into the Staten Island harbor. You know he laughs about how many freckles Joe had and he says he was the funniest one of the group in the class clown of the group and the last one that you would expect to do that cousin one of my best friends, I choose to believe had an accidental overdose Something it was intentional and best friend shot himself on his 40th birthday and since he was about 32 he used to say on my 40th birthday I don’t have a better leg. I’m gonna shoot myself. And he was a movie buff and he watched The Simpsons and Family Guy all the time had every DVD of The Simpsons and South Park and Family Guy and even though he said it like 50 times nobody didn’t believe them that I was working Bart late and he called me and you know I think if I had answered, maybe things would’ve been different but I hate that blames himself because I mean there’s nothing he could’ve done. What about you past your pain and grief off onto those that care about you! Ironically enough, the only reason Ren didn’t commit suicide is because he saw what happened to Joe’s family and how it got to his mother really bad when he took his life and he talked about this that he decided that he wasn’t gonna go through his plan and was gonna wait for the disease to take him. Crazy circle of events Joe’s suicide leads to all of this amazing brilliant music being released into the world that’s gonna help many more people than one, but I’m sure lots of times he feels like he couldn’t help is himself! It’s so fucked up but we’re all so fortunate and I bet he wouldn’t give his newfound fortune and fame away to his best friend back. So 13 years and is still struggling getting through the song and something beautiful about it as he said he didn’t talk to Joe’s family. I think he said for about a year and I’m pretty sure he wrote this song the first six months before he released it, he wanted to, play it for Joe’s family. I’m not sure how many people I consisted of because he really only spoke about his mom, but he said they had a great cry and he was able to raise enough money by her I think a minivan or some sort of car that she had always wanted took his money before he became what he is today his first $10,000. He used it to his best friends, mom instead of using it on his healt! He’s a special special human. I’ve never been happier for someone to reach success and pull for someone to be successful like this man.

Damn. Tears again. The middle section is loosely from Ren's song 'Dominoes'. I suggest you both react to that; it is harsh but beautiful.

There was no need to pause on that one guys. Songs like this one have to be listened to in one because they really need to be taken in. Another one is the song freckled angels which he wrote a few months after Joe died. Please react to the album version of this one and listen to how much fun Joe was and how much of an impact he really was on ren. He truly misses him. I think you guys will really appreciate it❤❤❤

Thank you for reacting to this beautiful song. Its so powerful, as much of his music is. I love your reactions to Ren music, and hope you will get to the song "Dominos" which he sort of references in this song. Its an important song, like all Ren songs, especially if you have a daughter. I am not sure if you have ever reacted to "Power" but I think you would love it too. Thanks for your honest reactions.

Thank you for sharing the love for your friend. It is so very important for guys like you two, and Ren, to be open and vulnerable in things like this and unafraid to show love for your buddies and brothers. It's how we heal, and how we help people stay alive. ❤ Big love guys.

❤ Thank you for trusting us enough to be as open and human as you were in this reaction. I have heard this song over 50 times and I still cry, you are 💯 when you said it's so RARE now days to find an artist who can actually make you feel to your core different emotions. And feel them as your own in your relation to it. I have even cried in a Ren song that had no relation to me but I cried because I sincerely feel empathy about him as a person. Idk. Anyways hugs to you two from a gal in ND. I know your big hearted friend was looking down at you smiling so proudly of where you guys are in life and the humans you have stayed!

To help explain the freckled angel lyric, his friend Joe had vary fair skin and was covered in freckles, do when he refers freckled angels, he is talking about Joe now he has passed on.
