Bwahahaha. I am happy that my in depth look made you desire it. It’s likely a forever bench for me. I don’t really use decline settings at all so this seems to have everything I’ve wanted.

This is a great review. Super comprehensive as always. I appreciate that you spend time on the specs. With that said, I never understood why I would need to adjust the front pad? I don’t think I’ve adjusted the front pad on my bench. Seriously considering this buying this bench though!
@TheKurtlocker2 жыл бұрын
I adjust the seat pad in the 45, 60 and 75 degree angles but it’s not necessary in most cases. Thanks for watching consistently. It truly means a lot to me

Nice bench, I like the color options they offer. Rogue needs to get with it. That said I love my Rogue Ab-3. Decline is a must for me, and I really love the 8 degree first incline setting for db presses. It takes the strain off the pec and front delt while allowing for a great range of motion. I wish more companies offered a sub 15 degree incline.

This is now the new top dog (pun intended) for FI Benches. The premium features and customization makes it next level. I wish this was available 6 months ago when I bought my AB5200, which I like the specs on more than the new Rogue one. The price for this bench is the one gripe most people are going to have, but American made with love by a small company that will last a lifetime is well worth the investment! Awesome thorough review as always Kurt, looking forward to your next one, happy lifting!

This bench looks amazing. Also made in central Ohio (where I live). Just wish they made it in decline with a foot catch. I’m looking at the rogue ab-3 (manta ray is too heavy and expensive) or the prime fitness adjustable bench. I pondered getting a bench like this stray dog and using the rack attached rollers to hold my feet, but haven’t seen anyone try that yet so not sure how that would work out.
@TheKurtlocker Жыл бұрын
That may be risky. Hopefully someone makes an affordable bench that has decline like the mantra ray does

Good video. Real nice bench. The fact you can smash your fingers when lowering is a big flaw IMHO. As for that horizontal member across bottom of rack, had it on my Rogue rack. It was always in the way of the Rogue bench. I removed it and don’t miss it at all.
@TheKurtlocker2 жыл бұрын
I use the cross member frequently for using my UPS low from Surplus Strength.

@@TheKurtlocker make sense. I had the big rogue sign at top which got in way of pressing with elieko trap bar so ditched it and moved the bottom member up top.

Nice bench and review, how would you say the vinyl material is compared to something like the rep fitness benches or thompson fat pad? Have looked at this bench or the Irwin fitness adjustable bench with the 14" gripper pad but pricing on the irwin due to shipping is a good deal higher.
@TheKurtlocker2 жыл бұрын
The vinyl on the SD bench is just about as sticky as the Rep benches but without the hole texture thing.

Completely random question unrelated to this review (the review is great btw) but what made you go from having all rogue everything to now basically having literally everything but rogue lol.
@TheKurtlocker2 жыл бұрын
Everyone has Rogue in their garage gym. Although rogue is made in USA, I am choosing to highlight small businesses that are made in USA. My gym is 100% rogue free at this point. Rogue still makes great stuff but they aren’t going to notice little old me not having any rogue
@arturoadame5286 Жыл бұрын
Is it worth dropping the rogue ab3 for this one?

IMO this bench is superior to the AB3 by a significant margin. I’m also eyeing the Surplus Strength Aegis

U want to know what I think, alright, I think this bench is WAY TOO EXPENSIVE. I can get a Rogue or Rep for far less and they are as good and probably better. I get U hav UK ng it as I see U promoting a lot of stray dog stuff but the normal home gym guy will go with rogue or rep. U paid over $800 on a bench yet U buy from Titan, something is off here
@TheKurtlocker2 жыл бұрын
The bench is expensive. You’re not incorrect. I also used to buy items from titan. You’re not wrong that if you looked at my older videos with titan equipment it would seem like a huge imbalance in my spending habits. The truth is that as you travel on your home gym journey different choices will be made using lessons learned earlier. There is almost zero equipment in my space that isn’t made in USA from small businesses, especially veteran owned businesses. A lot of folks may go with Rogue or Rep. Those are solid choices. Those brands don’t line up with my current priorities. That doesn’t mean I won’t own certain things from them, but they are far from my first choice. Thanks for watching and commenting.
