Do you know if a stream deck will work with a powered USB hub in a Macbook pro (which has only 2 usb inputs)? 1 usb is needed for Camlink, and another for a usb mixer, so I need a hub to add a stream deck. There are various reports online whether the stream deck works in a hub and I'd love to hear your input before purchasing. Thanks so much!

We recommend vMix on the PC. It's an amazingly powerful streaming solution that works for all levels of live streaming. And when you combine it with X-keys, you're all set to run your show solo! ✨

Thank you for this video. I just ordered the StreamDeck and I plan on using it with StreamYard. However, I just found out that StreamYard doesn't use hotkeys. While I can see the benefits of still using the streamDeck for other stuff saved to my PC, what about the overlays? Is this only possible with the StreamDeck while using ECamm & VMix, or is the use of overlays a separate issue?

You can use devices like Stream Deck or X-keys to create "keyboard" shortcuts on Mac and PC.

You'll get more "bang for your buck" with a PC, but if you are more comfortable with a Mac, get one. You'll just want to keep your stream simple... 👍

Why do i need ecam to create scenes that can be created in obs. Not a good idea to use extra software to do things your main program can do. It means one more program can crash while streaming.

Not everyone uses obs. If you watch in the beginning of the video, we state it works with other softwares and are using ecamm in this example because that is what Luria uses

I went with touch portal www.touch-portal.com/ which works fantastically with OBS Studio, twitch, twitter, facebook, it can also emulate keystrokes, has easy to use, very powerful logic controls, media functions, even control for philips hue if you want to. can do pretty much everything you can do with streamdeck but WAAAAY less expensive and can be used on any ios or android device (I personally use my old trusty nexus 10). it can support up to 105 buttons per page (but if you want you can select fewer buttons per screen if you want the buttons to be larger (which can be helpful for dynamic labels and text feedback). most of my pages use a 36 button layout because that's what I prefer. it's $13 for the pro version and there's a trial version with fewer features if you want to play with it. I'm not sponsored or affiliated with touch-portal, I just think it works PHENOMENALLY for my streams. I've never even heard of vmix or eecam before right now. I'm not sure why someone would choose to buy a streamdeck when there's touchportal, and OBS Studio is the industry standard for streaming. I won't say anything bad about vmix or eecam because I honestly don't know what if any benefits or detriments they have over obs, but pretty much everyone I know who does professional live streaming on twitch, youtube, or facebook uses obs.
