The Genesis one is at such a low volume setting... Which is a pity, because Special Championship Edition or Dash Plus as I think it was called in Japan, was possibly the most accurate conversion in terms of music. Interesting how they put more detail into the Genesis intro compared to the arcade one.

Are the two guys outside fighting because they're mad they didn't make the cut? If we go inside will we see Cammy, T. Hawk Dee Jay and Fei Long signing up for next year? More infos ;-) : DeeJay is the only character created by Capcom USA. "MAXIMUM" is written on his pants cause you can read it even when his sprite is reversed (like in a mirror). Not like Sagat who loses left or right eye, and whose scar on his chest is moving, depending on the side he is standing ^^ Ryu's victory quote from SFII, "you must defeat Shen Long to stand a chance" is a bad translation from the japanese, which gave birth to Ryu's Master, Shen Long/Gouken. Thank you Capcom USA ^^

If the one on the right is Joe, and if this intro was originally going to be used for Final Fight (formally titled Street Fighter '89), while his look in this intro resembles Cody's (protagonist of Final Fight), then perhaps Joe and Cody are the same character. Their curved jumping kick attacks also look alike.

If that's Joe from SF 1 on the right, then let's compare Joe's curved kick with Cody Travers' curved kick. They are probably the same character. In fact, this intro was going to be used for Street Fighter '89 (now known as Final Fight), which also stars Cody Travers.

let me build upon what IbukiSF3 (who made this awesome video) said. In Japan, Balrog is called M. Bison, but to avoid lawsuit (M.Bison sounds similar to M. Tyson, or Mike Tyson, so it was changed as such and the other names (Vega=Balrog, and M. Bison=Vega) were as well
