“You can make a painting out of just about anything if you focus on shapes”… I really like that and know it’s true. It’s all about a way of seeing, isn’t it. Once you start walking around and seeing that way, paintings paint themselves in your head. I don’t know if I would have seen the inspiration in this street scene but once it was painted, I see such an interesting pattern emerging. Love it!

Your last couple videos painting these street scenes has really opened my eyes to scenes around my neighborhood and surrounding areas. I often feel an urge to get out of the city but I can’t do it as often as I’d like and it usually adds a lot of travel time to my painting sessions. But you’re inspiring me to try more scenes just around me and I’m excited to try it. Did one last week and want to do some more this week.

He NEVER fails to create interest out of the mundane. At least with me 😊 his experience with composition is on point. He really does deserve to stick out among the OCEAN of fantastic artists out there. And that, I believe he has done. Between his channel, his paintings/style, and his personality...I def set him apart! And that's as a fellow painter

You under-estimate your drawing ability. I do some teaching and many people just never put in the time to learn to draw well. Although casual, you can draw well which shows in your ability to design a painting. Nice work as usual.

It has been a pleasure to witness your evolution as an artist, teacher, philosopher, Michael. I agree with your Palm Springs analogy, perhaps a future painting locale? As usual, your finished product is cool. Sometimes the wind sound enhances the viewing experience in places that are windy. This was one of those times.

@@jimreid9674 Thanks Jim. Yes, I always set the painting in a frame when deciding whether it needs touch ups or not. As far as finish goes, it comes down to taste. Some people like more detail and others prefer more abstraction. The longer I paint the more I prefer that latter.
