Hi! Romanian citizen here. Actually, this track was discontinued by some people who are complaining about the noise. Since 2009, this project was abandoned. In Romania we have two street championships: Super Rally, which is basically a short street track closed for some hours and the racers are fighting with the clock. Open wheelers, Prototypes, Gt Cup Spec Cars, Rally Cars, are present here. The second one is Electric Karting. Long story short: Electric Karts raced on city streets across Romania and most of the drivers are kids. I've watched some videos from your series and I really enjoy them. Keep up the good work!

Ah ok. From the information I could find, it was in relation to finances, but I certainly wouldn't doubt at all what you're saying. I'm not surprised some people complained about the noise considering what cars were racing there. That Super Rally sounds really interesting, will definitely have to do some research on that. I'm glad you're enjoying the series. I'll do my best to keep up those standards.

This is a great video. Really this was a good race track to continue. Perhaps F3 International or FE could continue to use it!! Not for F1, it would have to be at least 1km bigger. And you're right: crazy to go from Silverstone to Bucharest in a single week, taking all the logistics of an entire category. I miss F3 International racing on street circuits like Birmingham and Pau. They could include this one too.

This seems like one of those bizarre situations where everything went right and yet it just didn't pan out in the end. As opposed to the Montreal FE course which was a complete disaster from the bad layout to the terrible view and the fact half the tickets where given away and it still disappointed, but then that's what happens when you try to do a street race in Montreal when there's an Grade 1 track right in sight of downtown, a grade 2 track about an hour and a half away, and what would probably be deemed a grade 6 track in the middle.
@tydyeracinggaming4742 Жыл бұрын
I would have to do more research on the Montreal track do see what it's downfalls were. I think Bucharest had a lot going for it. However, there were a few empty seats when you saw some of the grandstands during the GT races. However, I think that track would do well if it somehow returned.

@@tydyeracinggaming4742 The Montreal FE street circuit was basically an absolute disaster in just about every way it could have been, it was only last year the last of the controversies around it came to an end when the last of the lawsuits between different government entities that had to pay what relating to it finally got settled in court.

Driven this one in various sims. It's not a bad track but from what I know it was shut down due to noise I don't remember Del Mar or Columbus being abject failures. aside from the latter being linked with Al Holbert's fatal plane crash I'm more intrigued by the Niagra Falls track given that I heard it was run on or close to Love Canal, and if you know anything about that saga, yikes, put a race track on contaminated land, sure why not. Actually, the Meadowlands was much the same at one point, some would argue NJ is a toxic waste dump to this day :) Also, weather related trivia Bob Varsha I think it was, stated in 1990 that the IMSA race at Palm Beach was run under a tornado watch, which back in 1990 meant okay, there might be a tornado, maybe, possibly. It was mentioned at the start of the broadcast with the point oh, we hope to get the race in. Aside from War Bonnet Raceway in Medford, oklahoma, that's the only other time I remember it threatening a race. The 98 Houston CART round was in Biblical wet conditions, and once again, Bob Varsha mentioned twisters had happened near Houston. If you ever seen footage of how wet that track was....yeah, it was storming bad that weekend

@@Eibarwoman And ten years later, NASCAR would come under fire with the 2014 Daytona 500, again, there wasa tornado warning, not mentione at all too. @@jacekatalakis8316 The Indy 500 has been plagued with close run-ins with tornadoes usually during earlier parts of the month with track activity stopped due to rain or lightning. But rarely has it been as close in distance or race time or as potent as in 2004

@@Eibarwoman Now I'm curious, I want to go through the records from NOAA/Grazuli and see just how many times a tornado has got near IMS since 1950 when records began really, this is a fascinating rabbit hole. Makes me, knowing about that town in Kansas that got hit three straight years on the same day, be glad IMS hasn't ever got a direct hit. man, 2004 was a wild year or tornadoes.
