Here's how I remember it: the first word is a noun the second is an adjective. Strength speed: How fast is your strength? Speed strength: How strong is your speed?

Phil, do you have any suggestions as to training contrasting muscle groups for speed strength vs strength speed? For example, back side vs front side, upper body vs lower body, and/or push vs pull. Should one be strength speed and the other speed strength?

So this is similar to my condensed conjugate model where special strengths are broken up into upper and lower. You can work strength speed on upper or lower and speed strength / explosive strength on lower or upper on the same day.

Do you bring body weight into the equation? So if if i weigh 81 kg and my max squat is lets say 140kg making the total weight of 221kg, if i wanted to do squat jumps for speed strength, the weight would be 110.5 including my bodyweight so the additional weight being 29.5/30kg? Just wanna make sure im understanding this right please.

I’m only equating bar weight and If possible accommodated resistance. At the end of the day all that really matter is the speed at which you are moving will depict your special strength stimulus.
