Let me tell you some things about Kyriakos. I studied in his town (Kavala) from 2000 to 2005 and I used to trained with him for a short period of time in JKD. Back then he was half of what he is now but still a really big man. He told me that he was practicing Kick-boxing before(don't remember for how long) and turned into JKD. When I started out he was there for a year or so.. He was fast for his size and he used to pair up with another fast guy for the sparing. One time there was no other beginner at the dojo except me so I had to spar with him. So now I can gladly say that I was punched in the face by the Grizzly. His fist was the same size with my face. I quitted JKD school after 2-3 months (big mistake) but he continued. I saw him again 1-2 years after at the bowling center (he worked as security there) and he told me that bythen he learned how to kill the opponent, he even demonstrated to me some stuff (scary shit). After 15 years I found out that he is famous as the heavylifter Grizzly. Good guy..

After watching these, it strikes me that the Grizzly is actually stronger than I thought he was. His form is actually superior to several lifts here. The Dumbell curls were astonishing, especially compared to Magnus, who used his whole body to do them. Bibby’s ‘Bent over rows’ were largely a short deadlift/dip combo. His last raises were staggering. That’s seated press was simply incredible. Plus, the Grizzly is older than all of them. People laugh and joke because he does some ‘out there’ things, but he is genuinely, truly strong.

People that harp on form are people that are trying to avoid that next bicep tear (perhaps because they've had one or something similar). Those injuries aren't a badge of honor, they're a sign that things aren't great. That long list of injuries ALREADY HAS reduced his total career length/ how long he can do this (he just still has enough left to keep going, eventually he will not unless he's a real anomaly). The reason I will likely never get close to many of my fitness goals (as with everyone as they age and accumulate injuries) has a lot more to do with recovery time between minor injuries than effort on any one workout. They aren't saying he isn't strong or hasn't achieved something impressive, but rather that your average youtube watcher SHOULD NOT follow those footsteps or use this as an example, because we all know where they lead at some point (even for him, sorry for the negative prognostication).

No lie, he's doing these exercises better than the people you're comparing him to. Besides full range of motion barbell movements like squats, he's doing it at the weight or heavier and with more strict form. He beat Biby at the bent-over rows (many dudes that do BOR at 500+ lbs cheat like a mf and get no contraction at the top), while Grizzly was actually pulling the weight cleanly from the blocks to his stomach with full contraction. He definitely beat Magnus at the cheat reps, Grizzly handled those dumbbells. Same for the lateral raises. Heavier weight, just as strict form. He's got serious muscle under that fat, and he's only a meme because of the outlandish exercises he does. He moves weight like an ox, and I have yet to see anybody come close with some of the exercises he does. He's practically world-class in moving weight. Long live the MOGG.

He is actually holding his own pretty well in a lot of these. It is also important to note that he is approaching 50 at this point, and he is still incredibly strong. Shedding the belly weight would certainly help, but that is easier said than done in middle age. Some people like to eat, and while not great for your health, it doesn't mean you are a bad person.

Definitely alot if unorthodox lifts, but a very strong man just to pick up the amounts of weights he does. I was honestly very impressed with his pull-ups to be a 450 pound man.
@dhdhensmsm32802 жыл бұрын
He was 400 lbs in that video, but still crazy strong. Did you see the lateral raises, lat pulldowns and bicep curls (db hammer curls and cheat bb curls)? It goes to show you that this man is an absolute monster. Hes got way too many injuries in his arms and knees as far as i know, limiting him ): He claimed these lifts 260 kg bench, 330 deadlift and 370 kg of 380 kg squat (i dont remember) back when he was 21, snatched 180 kg and CNJ 220 kg. Unholy strength

Beyond Omega level, too strong to determine with our level of technology.
@bhavneetbhangu12483 жыл бұрын
As much as his lifts are very unorthodox, he has genuine raw power. For example, for the 270 block pulls, I am sure he can lock out if he wants but just doesn't. Also, for him to move a 200kg benchpress with that ease is quite impressive (as much as the form is very bad). His pull ups and lat pull downs were also okay... I guess he has different strength goals in life hence his unorthodox lifts and form.

The really nuts thing about his ROM is he's stated in several comments that he's blown out tendons multiple times. He does unconventional lifts and such because of that. Still absolutely impressive he was able to bounce back and do shit he loves.
@silatguy3 жыл бұрын
His cheat curls are up there among the strongest in the world, good pullups....probably the best pullups at 400lbs or so that I have ever seen, also his 398 pin press is a very awkward lift.....not like a pin press from a bench and still he finishes the rep in about half a second.....he is very explosive and deceptively strong. I honestly believe if he cared to change them as well a lot of his partial lifts-rows, squats etc would be very similar in numbers done strictly maybe just taking a rep or two away and in their own way are difficult. Who does continuous tension bodybuilding style squats with 700 for reps? As is seen in the Jujimufu video.....let anyone on earth try to match his partial reps or weird lifts...good luck!

I really want him to compete at some event. The jokes, while funny af, make light of his amazing feats of strength. I kinda feel like Kyriakos does not get the recognition he deserves, as he does have some lifts on world/Olympic level. As his technique is quite bad in some ares, due to injury, it shines with other lifts. Underrated guy.

@@StrengthUniverse I really couldn't complain. Ever since I got the 70" smart TV I have mainly just given a like 👍 I'm doing great. I have everything that I need to get strong and massive! I'm out here in Oregon country, only three miles from a grocery store. Not bad location, I'm situated at a corner of a sometimes very busy Crossway with one direction stopping at a stop sign. There haven't been as many wrecks since installing a light. If you ever wanted to visit or move to Oregon, maybe you could check it out. See what we are working with out here! Oregon is actually a pretty massive state. It's actually about 80 percent federally protected wildlife preserve. And I'm my county, Washington County we actually have what is termed, "an infinite water shed". It means we won't run out of water. But we still do need to be water conscious. The water out here actually is some of the best quality in the world. A lot of breweries recognized this. And there is a top Sake maker out in Forest Grove, Oregon. My brother is a head beer brewer out in Astoria Oregon. There is plenty of decent brew! Cheer's from Oregon country!
