Hi Katie Jobling. As a deep-seaman, I used to spend hours on the poop deck of a cargo ship watching the wandering Albatross flying over a stormy sea. Which had a calming effect on me. The gliding Albatross coming in close to me knowing I was watching him or her. As both genders always went to different areas of the ocean during their mating seasons. The Wandering Albatross always the Master or Mistress of their environment, even in a storm at sea with their great wingspans of ten to twelve feet. I am a new eighty-two-year-old recruit to Acrylic seascapes. Which could also have a calming effect on me when painting my sea-going memories of over forty-plus years ago. John Eric Hoare.

After many years of a break I have just started painting a few months ago, first time with acrylics! I felt like I’m not progressing and just stumbled over your tutorials and I am binge watching 😂 thank you so much. Love your down to earth explanations. It’s wonderful to witness the progression from a blank canvas to your artistic impression 😊

This is exactly why I love acrylics and never want to stop using it. Acrylics is a real gamechanger. I used to suffer anxiety real bad, since i started trying to relive that stress with making art, my life has changed. Acrylics let you be more random with the way you work, you use your brushstrokes and everything. The more random you are the better results you get both mentally and with your painting

Hi Katie, What's the size of the canvas? The painting is truly refreshing! And, the colors are such gorgeous mixes of blue. There's a palpable harmony in the piece. The camera was at a good angle enabling an unobstructed view. The final close ups allowed essential glimpses of the strokes. Thank you so much. Well done! Wish you well! I wish you come up with more such tutorials.

I have started painting again after 45 years! Thank you so much for the inspiration. I felt very happy after painting this. Just a suggestion...but it would be really helpful if you could have a picture of the finished painting in a little window or something, as a reference of what it will look like.

This is absolutely brilliant. I 100% agree on painting for stress relief. All my troubles disappear as soon as my brush touches the canvas if I've had a bad day at work. Impressionist style is my preferred style of painting as well, I find it more dramatic. Excellent video. Subbed👍🏻
