Nice to see my list featured on the channel. Cheers very much for that. The five games I played this weekend were my first ever with the new Knight book (noting that I've been playing Knights consistently from 8th) and by around game 3 I'd already worked out a few ways of further optimising this. I still believe the 3/4 Quest Arm ratio is best for me, and that the tooled up Gallent is solid. But I don't mind saying that the Crusader underperformed, even when accounting for how it buffed the disturbingly efficient Helvrins, and now I'm exploring other more Preceptor themed options. :P But overall I really am enjoying playing Knights. They certainly don't feel top tier, but they've got a lot more utility now and none of my games went longer than two hours, which is a God send when playing weekend long events. :)

You missed a trick in the mechanicus list: The Princeps allows his Bondsman ability to be given to a Questoris Knight. Master tactician allows *Any Knight* under the effects of bondsman to play any strat at 0 CP. Give Paladin's Reroll 1's & MW's on 6's to the Crusader for free, and it'll shred anything.

Clarification on Vortex of Terror. It does not give -1 to hit, it reduces weapon and ballistic skill. This is important because that then stacks with the Harbinger abilities that give -1 to shoot or attack in melee.

@@irontanker1812 claw just seemed better...wounds T8 models on 2s and does 8 rather than 6 damage on the strike profile, and on the sweep 3 damage is nice because you can one-shot normal terminators and you can also kill 2-wound models that have a feel no pain-style save or that reduce damage. That said, swords are better into space marine which you see a lot of.

I've recently been using my Chaos Knights to maximize Dread tests. By round 3, I've managed to stack -3 Leadership to models in Dread range and have been utilizing Dread tests to ensure models can only target the closest, half their charge ranges and even fail Moral tests due to MWs inflicted on failed Dread tests, using stratagems! Its been fun, watching them flee before the wail of the Knights warhorn lol

You can stack all these to produce a -3 Ld. I like to also include the Warlord Trait, Aura of Terror, forcing 3d6 to be rolled and take away the lowest! Its fun!

been thinking about making a Taranis army, BUT with mostly Forgeworld models, so it will be a project that will take a long time to finish. and themed with knights with Volkites as i love them :D Acastus Knight Asterius Questoris Knight Styrix (Warlord) 2 x Mechanicum Knight Moirax with Volkite Veuglaire and Gyges Siege Claw 2 x Warglaives 1 x Helverin, might make this a 3rd Warglaive instead. :)

I like House Vextrix as they provide sizable buffs for shooting but also have a nice defensive warlord trait and the heretek power core to make an amazingly fast rampager/abominant. Stack that with a freeblade Tyrant w relic of Nak'tgraa for two fell bonds (-1 damage and access to safer daemonic surge). I also like to run a few stalkers/karnivores to run down objectives and clean up chaff.

That Mechanicus list is running a combo that a few of us on B&C were discussing, the exact idea. You missed that Master Tactician isn't Armiger restricted, you can use that Noble Exemplar ability even if the unit is a Questoris Class Knight as all that is requires is the unit to be under a Bondsman ability. Effectively, you get to use Calculated Targeting on the Crusader turn 1 for free, saving 3CP and letting it just unleash hell on anything it likes. It is furthered buffed as you did noticed by the Princeps. That entire list is leaning on that combo hard, aiming to just spit a TON of mortal wounds out onto any target it likes. I believe one of the fraters on B&C figured it was something like 15+ mortal wounds if you put it all on one target, that would certainly lay low and even injure a lot of tough units. Just something I thought I would mention as that is what that entire mechanicus list is leaning on. Very scary just because it lets you save so much CP on what is a seriously potent stratagem that can have some straight devastating results.

Yesterday I pulled my Rampager with the Teeth that Hunger, throwing 21 attacks on 10 strike squad marines... I have to say I'm satisfied as it cleaned all of them tho I was running infernal household, iconoclast would increase the attacks to 24 +1 teeth (3 attacks with sweep) +1 diabolus +1 iconoclast If you want more nasty attacks, the stratagem for the chainsword gives 4 attacks with sweep -> 8x4 And if you are Slaanesh, get blast on the melee with the second stratagem (+1 or +2 attacks) -> 10x4 on 2s S10 -4 2 damage.

I bring a neat Hawkshorud Build, give a knight revered knight and another or the same knight banner of Macharius. Cause of Hawkshorud adding an additional honor you start round 1 with 4. If you do the one secondary where you do an action in the middle and get honor on a 4+ or Defend the realm by the end of your first turn you become virtuous.

I brought some Armigers and a knight (magnetised them all) to use a alongside my Blood Angels to mix things up a bit. I have some Admech from my Imperium subscription and I am tempted the get a few more units (including Belisarius Cawl) and the Codex as apparently Add mech can take a 'knight of the Cog' and a wandering hero; it may not be worth the cp cost but it gives me something to do with the small amount of Admech I have , without heavily investing in a new army.

It was already a popular way of running Chaos Knights before this codex. The new weapons for the new Dogs are also easy enough to 3D print so can use the Wardogs you already have with new printed guns.

Im pretty sure Taranis list is illegal. You can't give an armiger Revered Knight, only Cunning Commander, Blessed by Sacristans, and Ion Bulwark. Unless knight baron somehow gets around these restrictions but "(this must be a warlord trait it can have)" leads me to belive it cant.

Im no expert of the knights book but I can't see how that first list works legally. I'm trying to jig it in Battlescribe, but it always throws errors at me for too many warlord traits, or too many knight barons, or too many knight lance. Seems like he has too many buffs on his large knights.

Hey Auspex! These lists are all sub optimal, the new codex buffs on the forge world knights is the way to go, in every possible way. Officially the FW knights didn’t lose their 2” to movement and the FW knight quest Stryix is super buffed now with blessed by the sacristant is does 1 MW on a 6 to wound in addition on heavy 5 45” s8 AP -3 d6D 6 to wound cause 2MW, and in 9th the mortals on 6 isn’t just 1 gun so the 2d6 rad cleanser that already wounds non veichles on 2s and veichles on 6s also does a mortal on 6s

Could with shenanigans get auto 6 to wound, and 3cp to 6s to wound also deal damage as mortals, so with 1 6 can do d6 MW on top of 3mw and reroll the wound roll so possible 9mw from 1 6 to wound

How are people giving warlords traits and relics to non character knights? I thought only one knight could gain the character keyword

Speaking from the imperial knights side: There is a stratagem that gives a Knight the character keyword and a warlord trait (can be used twice in 2k point games). A stratagem to give a relic to a knight, but does not give the character keyword (also can be used twice in 2k game). And a stratagem that can give your warlord a second warlord trait. So in theory, you could have 4 warlord traits and 3 relics in a 2k point game. If you take 3 Questors Class knights, you start the game with 12 CP I think
